Game NotesLast Time Out: The Soaring Eagles are coming off a tough 7-0 loss against visiting Hobart College on Tuesday. El-mira goalkeeper Jordan Dougherty ’16 logged 10 saves in the loss, his second-highest save total of the year.

Ninth All-Time: Elmira’s defense has faced some of the best offenses, not only in the region but in the country, this season. The Soaring Eagles have relied heavily on their back line as well as their starting netminder, Jordan Dough-erty ’16. Dougherty has produced a career-best 88 saves this season, upping his career total to 140. His 140 career stops ranks the junior goalie ninth all-time in program history.

Series History: Since 2002, Elmira and Nazareth have faced each other 14 times. The Golden Flyers hold a de-cisive 11-2-1 edge in the series. However, Elmira has seen greater success in recent years, going 2-1 against Nazareth in the last three meetings.

Looking Ahead: Following today’s matchup, the Soaring Eagles will take on SUNY IT on Wednesday, October 29th in Elmira’s home finale. Kick-off is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. at EC’s Campus Field.

Game NotesA Look at Nazareth: The Golden Flyers of Nazareth Col-lege enter today’s Empire 8 Conference match-up with a 4-10 overall record and a 2-3 mark in conference games. Nazareth is coming off a 2-0 win against Utica College, a victory that snapped a three-game losing streak.

Foley’s in Form: Ryan Foley ’15 has been a staple of Naza-reth’s men’s soccer program over the years, and for good reason. In his fifth year with the team, Foley leads the Golden Flyers with 16 points on seven goals and two assists. He has scored four goals in Nazareth’s last three games, two of which have come as game-winners. Additionally, Foley leads the Empire 8 Conference in points per game (1.45) and goals per game (.636).

Postseason On the Line: After picking up a critical win over Utica, the Golden Flyers are now in a three-way tie for the final spot in the Empire 8 Conference Tournament. With two conference games on the docket for Nazareth, to-day’s match-up will most certainly play a large role in shap-ing the tournament landscape. Nazareth has qualified for the conference tournament four of the last five years.
