Thank you to you all for coming along. As a result we raised $800! A special menon and thanks goes to our fundraising crew who organised and ran the evening for us all and to all the helpers on the night. SPORT TOURNAMENTS - Teams from our Year 4-8 classes represented OLR with PRIDE at the Ripper rugby and Touch tournaments yesterday. Year 5/6 Hockey team: Adam, Paige, Gursevak, Nicholas, Jonathan, Hunter, Yougee and Victoria. Year 7/8 Hockey team: Sebasan, Bon-Sco, Lola, Kaymon, Piper, Charles, Jayden P Year 4 Rippa Rugby team: Sam, Ezramani, Cruz, James, Eli, Elsie, Reeney, Nic, Ashton, Jasneet, Abi, Niamh, Taylor, Kelly, Marco and Jacob. Many thanks to our parents who kindly supported these events; Pauline Hewi, Rebecca Feerick, Jill Hughes, Tim Carter, Natalie Su’a-Ngatoro, Freddy Ernst, E Moananu and Lisa Shearer. UNIFORM - Now that EOTC week is over we are going to be more vigilant on uniform presentaon, as pride in our uniform is a school expectaon. R.I.S.I.N.G Stars Challenges for 2016 Your child/ren received their Our Lady of the Rosary R.I.S.I.N.G Stars Challenge forms for 2016 last week. If you would like your child/ren to participate, could you please sign the form and send the return slip back to school by 18th March for us to have an indication of the students participating.

Internet Agreement Forms This week you will receive, through ‘Signmee’ the Internet Agreement form. We require you to complete the form with your child/ren. You as the caregiver and your child/ren must sign the form . It is very important for your children to be safe when using digital devices and the social media domains. Please ensure you complete this process by Friday 18th March.

The Year of Mercy We have received our banner for the Year of Mercy. It will be displayed at the entrance of the

school to remind us to ‘Throw open the door to be Merciful like the Father’.

Māori Mass 2016 - Petone: 24th July at 9am and 23rd October at 9.30am. Lower Hutt Scripture Group for Māori - A prayer group begins on Thursday nights in the Lower Hutt region. Baptism A letter has been sent home today to the families involved in the Sacrament of Baptism. This is a very special day celebrated on the 14th April with Our Lady of the Rosary School/Parish Community at 9.30am at OLR Church. You are all most welcome to attend this very special event.

Call for unwanted Book bags - If you have any used Book Bags that you no longer need, it would be greatly ap-preciated if we could use them here at school, please hand them in at the office.

To Mr Cunningham and his lovely ‘wife to be’, Andy, who get married this Saturday. Also we wish Ajay’s mum, Stacey and her fiancée, all the best for their wedding day this weekend.

Term 2/3 Water Polo Registrations are now open

Entries are now open for the 2016 Intermediate Schools Water Polo Leagues for Year 5 and 6 and Year 7 and 8 students to be held at the Naenae Swimming Pool. The competition will run on Wednesday’s starting on 25th May through to 6th July inclusive. Games will recommence on 27th July and continue through to finals night on 24th August. The draw and results will be published on www.huttwaterpolo.org.nz

Game times will vary, but will be scheduled to start between 3.45pm to 7.30pm. All games are 10 minute halves with a two-minute change of ends at half time.

Intermediate Water Polo is played with a maximum number of 13 players per team. Six players (goalie & five field players) can be in the water with up to seven substitutes sitting poolside behind the two-meter red cone.

Please return by Thursday 24th March (week 8, Term 1) by returning the slip below to either the Office or to Mr Burt in Room 3 or by email to [email protected]. This is the last day for registrations.

Players must pay a weekly admission fee of $2 cash at reception before entering the Pool Complex. Please note the cost per player per team for the season fees will be $25 which must be paid before the competition begins. Payment is by cash or internet banking, account number: 12 3142 028 056600

Registrations for the Term 2 leagues for Tiniball and Miniball are now open!

Tiniball – begins week 2, term 2, Monday 9th May at Walter Nash Stadium, games start from 4pm changing weekly and concludes on Monday 20th June. This grade is for combined Year 1/2 teams and Year 3/4 teams.

Miniball – begins week 2, term 2, Thursday 12th May at Walter Nash Stadium and concludes on Thursday 23rd June. This grade is for separate Year 5 and 6 teams.

Please return by Friday 8th April (week 10, Term 1) by returning the slip below to either the Office or to Mr Burt in Room 3 or by email to [email protected].
