Students can begin their course on any Mondaymorning at 9.00am (subject to availability). 1. CancellationCancellation of booking before arrival: For cancellationsreceived at least fourteen days prior to the coursecommencement, fees will be refunded less the non-refundable deposit of 150 (Ireland) or $150 (USA).For cancellations received within 7-13 days of coursecommencement 50% of the course fees will be refunded.For cancellations of less than 7 days no refund is given.
Cancellation After Arrival: Once a student has commencedtheir course at the Institute they are obliged to completetheir full course of study. Te full course of study is denedas the initial enrolment period. No refund will be given forcourse fees if a student withdraws from the course beforethe completion of the full course of study.
If a student wishes to change the course they are attendingit may be possible to change to an alternative course orprogramme of the same value, depending on availability.Students cannot change from group tuition to individualtuition. No refunds can be given for course changesincluding changes to a less intensive course.
Students who have obtained an extension to their visa as aresult of a course extension cannot cancel that extensionand will not be entitled to any refund.
2. Visa and Immigration Guidelines - IrelandStudents requiring a Visa to study in Ireland should contactthe nearest Irish embassy for detailed information and
allow at least two months to process Visa applications.We can assist with the application procedures for the Visawhen required. All fees must be paid in advance and aninvitation letter with details of the transfer will only beissued once the funds have been received in full by banktransfer. If original copies of documents are required fromECI they can be sent by mail free of charge or by courierfor a fee of 65. Students who experience delays in havingtheir visa issued can postpone their course.
Visa Refusals: We will refund all prepaid money minus 150for administration costs on all visa refusals. Written proofof the visa refusal from the Embassy is required.
Immigration Procedures: All non-EU students attendinga course of more than 12 weeks (90 days) duration arerequired to register with the Immigration Bureau. A fee of300 is payable to the Immigration Bureau by students ontheir initial registration and students will also be charged300 for any extension of their immigration period. (Teregistration fee quoted is 300 at time of printing, but maybe subject to change).
3. Holidays for long-term students - IrelandStudents are permitted to take holidays dependingon the duration of their course. Te followingregulations apply: Te minimum holiday period permitted is 2 weeks Holidays cannot be taken in the middle of a week
(must be booked from Monday to Friday) Students must give the Institute at least 2
weeks notice in advance of the holiday Upon returning from a holiday, students may have
to take a level test before being placed in a class In the interest of the students academic progress,
only one holiday is permitted during any 12week period
Where possible, students are advisedto take holidays only on completion of their
current level course-weeks booked holidays permitted12 weeks 1 holiday period25 weeks 2 holiday periods48+ weeks 3 holiday periods
4. Postponement of Courses IrelandIf you cannot attend your course, you may postpone it.All postponements must be made in writing at least sevendays prior to the course start date. You have three monthsin which to inform the Emerald Cultural Institute of yournew dates and pay the re-arrangement fee of 65.Te Emerald Cultural Institute will hold all fees already
received for the three-month period. A course may onlybe re-arranged once.
5. Public HolidaysIn the case of public holidays, which occur on a Monday,students may begin their course on the uesday of thatweek. Public holidays are non-refundable.
6. Adult Beginners - IrelandComplete beginners can only start their course on xeddates. Please note that students who test at completebeginners level outside the above dates will not bepermitted to join a group course but can book privatetuition at an additional cost.

7. AccommodationPrices for accommodation are quoted per week, 7 nights.Refunds will not be given for early departure. Extranights in host family and residence are possible subjectto availability and an additional charge. Accommodationdetails will only be sent once all fees have been paid infull. Students wishing to extend their accommodationshould check availability well in advance of completionof their initial stay. Students who wish to extend theiraccommodation but require a change of host familymust pay of deposit of 60 (Ireland). Tis deposit is non-refundable but will be deducted from the rst weeksaccommodation fee.
A deposit for residential accommodation is charged andis payable on the rst day. Tis deposit will be refunded
provided that no damage has been caused. Any damagecaused by a student to homestay or residential propertywill be charged to the student or students responsibleand the school reserves the right to recover the cost forexceptional cleaning.
8. Airport ransfersransfer details should be sent to us at least seven daysprior to the arrival of the student. For students booking anairport transfer we ask for the ight number and arrivaltime. Unless accompanied by an adult, students under 18must book and pay for transfers on arrival and departure.Missed transfers are non-refundable.
9. DisciplineIf students behaviour or conduct is unsatisfactory, theywill be subject to the Schools disciplinary procedures. Aserious breach of conduct may result in expulsion. In theevent of an expulsion, fees are not refunded. Additionalcharges for ights and other costs will not be covered bythe school and are the responsibility of the student or, inthe case of underage students, their parents/guardians.
10. Insurance IrelandStudents must arrange appropriate medical, travel andpersonal insurance. Students travelling from EU countriesshould bring their European Health Insurance Card withthem. Tis only entitles students to emergency hospital
care and attendance at certain doctors. Please note thatthis will not cover elective procedures or dental visits. ocomply with immigration guidelines, all non-EU studentsare required to have medical insurance valid for their entirestay in Ireland. We can organise medical insurance for non-EU students at a cost of 110 per year. Students are notinsured by the school or by the family, against accidents,illness, theft or loss of personal effects, and the schoolaccepts no responsibility in the event of such occurrences.
Insurance USAStudents must arrange appropriate medical, travel andpersonal insurance. Students are not insured by the schoolor by the family/residence, against accidents, illness,theft or loss of personal effects, and the school accepts noresponsibility in the event of such occurrences.
11. Publicity MaterialsPermission is given for the use of student comments ortestimonials and photographs/images of students inthe official promotional material for the Emerald CulturalInstitute by the student or their parents or legal guardianwith acceptance of these terms and conditions.
12. Junior studentsFor all junior students, parents/guardians must sign and
agree to accept the school rules and erms & Conditionsprior to receiving the booking conrmation. For all studentsunder the age of 18, parents/guardians must complete andsign our consent form and return it to the Institute togetherwith the enrolment form.
13. Legal NoticeTe Emerald Cultural Institute and the Emerald InstituteNY reserves the right to change the details of its services,including courses, facilities and course dates wherecircumstances beyond the Institutes/companys controlnecessitate such changes or where the number ofenrolments is not enough to operate a course viably. Teright is also reserved to decline any person at any time
without liability.
Te Emerald Cultural Institute gives notice thatall arrangements for transport, activities or foraccommodation are made by the Emerald Cultural Instituteas an agent upon the express condition that they shallnot be liable for any injury, damage, loss, accident, delayor irregularity which may be occasioned either by reasonof any defect in any vehicle or through the acts of defaultof any company or persons engaged in conveying thepassenger, or in carrying out the arrangements of theprogrammes, or otherwise in connection therewith of anyfamily member.
