Today, businesses don’t have time for on-the-job training. They want graduates who can hit the ground running and bring real and lasting value to the organization. The Emerging Leaders MBA program at Bentley is designed specifically for young professionals and provides the knowledge, confidence and experience required to make immediate contributions upon being hired. ACADEMICS Develop a solid foundation in the funda- mental areas of business. All students in the program pursue courses in leadership, strategy and business process manage- ment to build an understanding of how the various aspects of an organization work together. And since young business professionals need both breadth and depth of expertise, elective courses allow you to pursue one of eight concentrations (see list on back) to enhance learning and add value for future employers. TECHNOLOGY The business world is built on technology, and so is the Emerging Leaders MBA. Bentley’s seven state-of-the-art learning labs, cutting-edge library and technology- rich classrooms provide valuable experi- ence with the latest tools and software being used in industry today. From day one, you’ll use relevant, emerging tools in accounting, finance, marketing, information design and other fields. If they use it in business, you’ll find it at Bentley. HANDS-ON EXPERIENCE We offer three distinctive experiential learning opportunities where students immediately put what they learn in the classroom into practice. Designing for the Value Chain: This course focuses on complex problem-solving for the value chain through simulations and projects. Teams of students act as ex- ecutives, designing new products (goods or services) and the associated supply chains, including new product introduction; forecasting; supplier selection; production; delivery, and returns. Teams must work together and use leadership, managerial, and design thinking skills to deliver tangible results even as “unexpected events” arise from the market. Corporate Immersion Course: This course emphasizes the use of multidisciplinary skills to identify, define and solve complex business issues within an organization. The class is designed to mirror the pressures of a corporate environment and requires students to defend their research, analysis and recommendations. Global Business Experience: Students travel overseas for a seven-to-10-day immersion experience, where they meet with company and government officials to learn the business practices of another country. This experience is a key component of the program and a strong benefit for students, as it develops their understanding of business in its broadest possible context. Christiana BakolasEmerging Leaders MBA ’16Hometown: Manchester, N.H.

Christiana Bakolas’s dream has always been to coach collegiate basketball. She had plenty of pedigree as a point guard, but what Bakolas didn’t realize was that most coaches hold a master’s degree. Bentley’s Emerging Leaders MBA helped her close that gap.

“I don’t know of any other MBA programs that are built around recent college graduates like this one is,” she says. “The day class schedule is really helpful, and the curriculum is comprehensive and very extensive.”

A team player on the court, Bakolas says she was a little apprehensive about going it alone in grad school. What she found at Bentley quickly put those fears to rest.

“I always thought that a master’s program was more of an individual endeavor, but the ELMBA program is the opposite,” she explains. “The most unexpected win that I’ve come out with was getting to know my classmates. It made such a big difference.”

So too did the program’s Global Business Experience trip to Paris. Helping her classmates adjust to study abroad was a challenge with tangible rewards.

“Being in uncharted territory like that really tested my leadership abilities and helped me realize that, although I still have a lot to learn, I’m definitely on the right track.”
