Day 1 Departing our local area we travel south to Cricket st. Thomas making a suitable break for lunch before arriving at our hotel early afternoon.

Day 2 Today our excursion takes us to the beautiful jurassic Coast via axminster famous for its carpets and the seaside resort of Lyme regis where free time is available. We follow the jurassic Coast to Chideock with stunning views out to sea before arriving in West Bay, a noted filming location, returning to our hotel through the beautiful Dorset countryside.

Day 1 Departing our local area we travel to monmouth where we make a break for lunch before arriving at the mercure Hotel in swansea.

Day 2 Today our excursion takes us round the Gower Peninsular, which includes the charming mumbles, home to boutiques, crafts, restaurants, cafes and colourful cottages, after which we continue to oxwich Bay, rhossili and Worm’s Head (the most westerly tip of the Gower) and joined to the mainland by a causeway.

Day 3 Today our excursion takes us via Carmarthen, saundersfoot to Dinbych-y-pysgod (Tenby), with views over Carmarthen Bay where free time is available prior to returning to the hotel.

Swansea is a truly beautiful waterfront city, which has been redeveloped since the docks closed in the 1960’s, it has now been replaced by a marina, which opened in 1982. The Waterfront Museum (previously known as the Maritime and Industrial Museum) and the Quadrant Shopping Centre are all waiting to be explored.

Day 1 Departing from our local area we journey to Wales with adequate comfort breaks en route to the port of Holyhead to board our cruise ferry for the crossing to Dublin. on disembarking, we continue our journey to the 4 star johnstown House Hotel for our overnight stay near Enfield for Dinner, Bed and full Irish Breakfast. All rooms are en suite with TV, hairdryer and hospitality tray. A passenger lift serves all floors.

Day 2 Departing the hotel after breakfast we travel across central Ireland passing mullingar, Longford to Carrick-on-shannon where we will make a break at this lovely town on the famous river. Continuing our journey to sligo we pass many inland lakes where boat cruises take you around Lough Gill to the Isle of Innisfree as known in the song. Time permitting, we will make a visit to the Cathedral and to see W B yeat’s grave. Departing sligo we make our way through the Dartry mountains, Bundoran, Ballyshannon and so to the beautiful resort of Donegal to our hotel.

Day 3 a day at leisure in Donegal town, maybe take a sightseeing cruise on Donegal’s water bus, visit the abbey ruins, the Castle, built by the o’Donnell Chieftain in the 15th century or the Heritage Centre.

Day 4 our excursion today takes us to the Inishowen Peninsula, the largest of Donegal peninsulas, passing Ballybofey and so to Buncrana on Lough swilly where we will make a break. Continuing on to Ballyliffin and to the Doagh Famine Village for our included visit, a true gem. after our visit we depart, experiencing wonderful scenery

of malin Head to the North, Lough Foyle and into Londonderry (Northern Ireland) where free time is available. Departing Londonderry, we travel down to strabane and back to our hotel.

Day 5 our excursion today takes us through the Blue stack mountains to Killybegs, Irelands premier fishing port, continuing down to Malinbeg with beautiful views of the bay and small island, through the Glengesh Pass to ardara, the weaving capital of Donegal where we will make a break. From here our route takes us through the Derryveagh mountains and into the Glenveagh National Park, one of six national parks in Ireland, this is truly beautiful scenery, continuing to Letterkenny with its neo-gothic Cathedral and 250 feet high steeple before returning to the hotel.

Day 6 Departing Donegal we make a scenic/interesting journey across Ireland to the outskirts of Dublin for our evening meal and overnight stay at the 4 star Talbot Hotel stillorgan. all rooms are en suite with TV, hairdryer and hospitality tray. a passenger lift serves all floors.

Day 7 Departing the hotel early morning we travel to the port of Dublin for our early cruise to Holyhead. monday 29th may – Friday 2nd juneThe harbour town of Troon was built on fishing, sea trading and ship building, but is best known today as a friendly traditional seaside resort, and for its world-famous golf course. The historic Royal Troon Golf Club was founded in 1878 and is an outstanding championship course in a beautiful coastal setting. The area has many other excellent courses, and has become known as Scotland’s ‘golf coast’.

The sea dominates in Troon, whether it be in walks along the wide sandy beaches with the isles of the Firth of Clyde in the distance or watching the sailing boats in the marina near the town centre. The town offers a good selection of restaurants, wine bars and many individually owned shops which offer something a little bit different.

The South Beach Hotel is privately owned by the Watt family and is ideally situated overlooking the sea front with it’s sandy beaches. All bedrooms are en suite with TV, telephone, hairdryer and hospitality tray. Please note there is no lift, however ground floor rooms are available.

Here we will experience the drama and beauty of the magnificent rhine Falls, the largest waterfall in europe. Saturday 10th – Friday 16th juneThe Black Forest is a mountainous region bordering France and Switzerland. It is renown for its spas and cuckoo clocks with the Feldberg being its highest mountain 4,898 feet and is roughly 100 miles long by 40 miles wide.

The Waldeck Spa is a family run 4 star hotel, being traditional in style and located within a 5 to 10 minute stroll from the town centre of Bad Durrheim. The public areas are bright and spacious and include a reception, bar, restaurant roof terrace and garden. The 139 bedrooms are light and spacious, each with its own balcony, hairdryer and TV. The hotel has extensive leisure facilities that include a large indoor swimming pool, saunas, gym and spa services. A passenger lift serves all floors.

Spring, summer, autumn and Winter: in all four seasons and wherever you turn, the mainau Island is an experience. around a million tulips, rhododendrons, scented roses, perennials and colourful dahilias bloom in the park and gardens. Palms and citrus plants lend a Mediterranean flair to this island. A visit to the Castle and Church of the Baroque era is a memorable experience, a delightful day.

Day 6 Today we depart the Black Forest and journey north to saarbrucken for our evening meal and overnight stay.

Day 2 Today’s excursion is a minimum two-hour trip on the ‘Tivertonian’ horse drawn barge, which offers a truly unique experience of yesteryear. During the journey you will hear memorable tales, anecdotes and historical facts about the horse drawn barge and the Grand Western Canal.

Day 3 Today we travel over the Black Down hills to Bishops Lydeard, where we board the steam locomotive hauled train for our journey on the West somerset railway. This is Britain’s longest Heritage railway travelling by the Quantock Hills, Blue anchor Bay to minehead, where we rejoin the coach for our short journey to Dunster. This is one of the most attractive villages in somerset, where free time will be available. afterwards we will visit some of the splendid villages of the exmoor National Park prior to returning to the hotel.

monday 3rd – monday 10th julyAfter the success of our previous Swiss adventure, we are delighted to return to Hergiswil, which is a small little lakeside village overlooking Lake Lucerne and an ideal base to tour the area.

The 4 star Seehotel Pilatus enjoys a lakefront location in the heart of the small lakeside community of Hergiswil on the shores of Lake Lucerne. The restaurant overlooks the lake offering beautiful panoramic views. In the evening guests can also enjoy the live music in the basement bar.

Day 5 Departing our hotel we travel through the delightful mountain range to engelberg, where free time will be available in this beautiful resort. engelberg is where people would meet if ascending the 10,623 ft mount Titlis. For those who are interested, why not take a journey on the world’s first rotating revolving gondola. The cable car system connects engelberg to the summit of the Titlis through three stages, the last part of the cable car journey is above the glacier, it is also possible to visit an illuminated glacier cave from the entrance within the cable car station, which also includes shops and restaurants, the Titlis Cliff Walk and the highest elevation suspension bridge in europe, opened in December 2012, giving views across the alps. a day not to be missed.

Day 6 Departing the hotel for our circular tour around Lake Lucerne including Lucerne, Weggis, Vitznau, Gersau, Brunnen and altdorf.

Day 7 Today we bid farewell to switzerland as we journey through the ever changing scenery to the border at Basle, crossing into France and Germany for our overnight stay at saarbrucken for dinner, bed and breakfast.

BRIEF ITINERARY*

Day 1 Departing from our local area we journey south to Bedford, the county town of Bedfordshire on the Great river ouse which passes through the town. Free time is available here for you to have lunch in the many cafes and restaurants. Bedford has been used for the film location ‘Some Mothers Do ‘Ave ‘Em’ and was filmed round here in the 1970s. Just outside the town lies the Cardington Airship Hangers which have been used in many films. A leisurely drive takes us to the luxury 4 star Mercure Hotel Letchworth Hall.

Day 2 Today we journey through the beautiful landscapes of Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire including the chocolate box villages of old Warden and Ickwell prior to making a break in the market town of st. Neots. In the afternoon we journey to Cambridge where we board our chauffeured punt through the back waters of Cambridge. our guide will not only guide the punt along the river Cam, but will also ensure we see the highlights of the College buildings. To compliment this truly english setting, strawberries and cream will be served. Free time is available in Cambridge before we travel back to the hotel to enjoy the superb leisure facilities before dinner.

Day 3 after a leisurely breakfast we travel to north east London and epping. It is here where we join the epping-ongar railway, one of the most opened preserved lines operating on part of the old London Tube route. The first part of the journey is taken on board a heritage bus, Routemaster or similar as far as North Weald station, where we join the train for a nostalgic ride to ongar and return. Free time is available at North Weald where you are able to purchase light refreshments before boarding the heritage bus to take you back to epping to meet the coach for returning to the hotel in time to relax before dinner.

Day 4 after a leisurely breakfast we travel south through the beautiful countryside of Hertfordshire to visit the Roman City of St. Albans, it is here where you will find the magnificent Cathedral dating back to 1077 and the award winning Verulamium museum giving an insight into roman Life. Day 1 Departing from our local area we travel south to make our break at Finchingfield, we continue our journey to our hotel near the Black Water estuary and mersea Island.

Day 2 Today we travel to Woodbridge in Suffolk. This delightful town is graced with buildings from the Tudor, Georgian, regency and Victorian eras, together with a Tidemill in working order, one of only two in the uK, it is here where we will make our break for lunch. In the afternoon we visit the beautiful otley Hall which is still a family home. This 16th century moated Hall is set in 10 acres of magnificent gardens in the tranquil Suffolk countryside. We will enjoy afternoon tea here at the Hall before returning to the hotel.

Day 3 our excursion today takes us to historic Colchester, where free time will be available to have lunch. reputed to be the oldest town in england, with a wide boulevard as a main street, together with many interesting pedestrian shopping malls and lanes with specialist retail outlets and quaint shops. at one end of the street is the beautiful Castle Park, complete with the largest Norman Keep ever constructed, riverside walks and pleasant gardens. We then journey north to Newby Bridge, continuing along the water’s edge to Bowness-on-Windermere, where we take a break before returning to the hotel.

Day 1 Departing our local area we journey to Folkestone for our mid morning eurotunnel crossing to Calais. on arriving in Calais we make our journey through France and the rolling hills of Belgium to our resort.

Day 2 A full day excursion to Luxembourg city where you will be offered an optional guided city tour. set on the river alzette, the history of Luxembourg City dates from AD 963 when Count Siegfried built a castle overlooking the river. Today this important european city boasts a large array of historical and cultural sights.

Day 3 our excursion today takes us along the banks of the moselle river to the resort town of remich where free time is available for sightseeing. This afternoon we visit the most scenic area of Luxembourg, the mullerthal, which is often referred to as ‘Little switzerland’. We visit the pretty town of echternach, an historic gem renowned for its medieval atmosphere.

Day 4 Today we have a half day tour of the Luxembourg National Park with its many pretty villages, small towns and delightful autumn colours. For those who wish you may like to take the only chair lift in the Grand Duchy, approximately 1,445 feet for panoramic views.

Day 3 a wonderful scenic day lies ahead of us, we journey to alston which claims to be the highest market town in england, where we make a break. our scenic drive continues over melmerby Fell, stopping for photographs along the way, then passing Long meg & her daughter’s stone circle, before arriving in Langwathby. We then continue our journey along the eden Valley prior to returning to the hotel.

Day 4 Departing the hotel, we journey along part of the 76 miles of Hadrians Wall to Chollerford. Leaving the wall we journey north to the Keilder Water and Forest Park by way of Wark and Bellingham, where we take a break at the Visitor’s Centre for lunch. after lunch we journey over the border into scotland and continue along Liddesdale before returning to our hotel.

BRIEF ITINERARY*

Day 1 Departing our local area we journey north with suitable comfort breaks en route to the mercure Peebles Barony Castle.

Day 2 Today our journey takes us along the side of the famous river Tweed to abbotsford and melrose where we make a break before continuing through the borders to Kelso. This picturesque county town lies in a fine setting at the junctions of the Rivers Tweed and Teviot. We will make a stop to photograph Floors Castle, it is still a family home, which was built for the first Duke of Roxburghe in 1721, before making our lunch break in Kelso, a beautiful market town in the scottish borders with its unique cobbled square with restaurants, cafes and delightful shops before returning to the hotel.

Day 3 We have the morning free to explore Peebles, a lovely market town which grew on the strength of the wollen industry in the 19th and 20th centuries. In the afternoon we journey to Traquair House for our included visit, which is claimed to be the oldest continually inhabited house in scotland. Whilst not strictly a castle, it is built in the style of a fortified mansion where we make a visit prior to returning to the hotel.

Day 4 Departing Peebles we journey passing Dawyck Botanic Gardens, a fine garden and arboretum that has been awarded 5 stars by the scottish Tourist Board. We travel through some breathtaking scenery of the Scottish borders passing the famous Devils Beef Tub to Moffatt, an old woolen town with lots to offer. Departing Moffatt we journey towards the Grey Mare’s waterfall, the Loch of the Lowes, St. mary’s Loch before returning to the hotel.

The Christmas market is renowned for one of the best in Germany. Free time is available here before returning to the hotel.
