Your resume will get you the interview, not the job. At an interview don't’ say “...on my resume…” assume they haven’t read your resume and say “I’ve have 10 years of experience in the graphic design field.”

“Believing in yourself is the starting point. Effectively communicating your

abilities to others is the necessity.”

Examine your previous experience and prior to the interview, write down major

responsibilities for each job, and any special accomplishments. Know your strengths and the abilities you were the most productive and excelled the most.

Always research the company. The more inside information you can get, the more accurately you’re going to be able to phrase your answers to demonstrate how your skills fill the employer’s needs.

Interview Etiquette:

Display good manners to everyone you

come in contact with. You don’t know who is sitting behind the desk

Practice your handshake, eye contact ,

and nonverbal communication

Arrive on time

Use people’s names

Don’t brag, lie, or speak badly about

anyone

Write a thank you note after the interview

Usually at the end of an interview you are asked if you have any questions. Potential employers pay attention to the questions you ask. Don’t ask about salary, you can ask that when offered the job. This is your opportunity to determine if the job is for you.

The better prepared you are the easier your interview will be!
