Tour de Cure
Jason Stone is an Intensive Care Paramedic in the Special Casualty Ac-cess Team at Pen-rith Ambulance Station and has been living in Emu Plains for 35 years He is a father of two young beautiful and healthy girls who go to a local school and enjoys competing in triathlons He has decided to participate in the Tour de Cure rode a bike ride from Sydney to Brisbane which supports
kids with cancer and those families who are affected by
this disease It is a registered charity dedicated to raising funds for the fight against cancer In May the 2010 Tour will see a team of cyclists ride from Sydney to the Sunshine Coast a total of 1400kms They all have the same goal to raise over $1 million dollars during this tour

The Extension group is evolving and changing as the school grows and changes This year we have many ex-citing excursions opportunities litera-ture projects and writing competitions available to extension group members
The Digital animation workshop was held at school to show students how to use high tech equipment and imagina-tion to create their very own individual animation Other excursions planned for this year include a trip to Sydney Wildlife World live theatre visiting the Powerhouse Museumrsquos Vector Lab and an overnight camp to Taronga Zoo
This year the extension group will benefit from several community part-nerships which result in two separate publications which will showcase and celebrate studentrsquos creative writing The first community partnership we will be involved in is a project named lsquoMigrant Storyrsquo which sees students listening to (and scribing) the stories of those who immigrated to Australia Students will record the stories and submit them for publication It is antici-pated the book will be published and ready to launch by late June The book
launch is planned to take place during refugee week and will celebrate com-munity partnerships especially those which made the project possible Stu-dents will be publicly celebrated and acknowledged for their effort
Extension group has collaborated with the Lower Blue Mountains Ro-tary Club to produce yet another book comprised solely of student work The book will be titled lsquoTell me a storyrsquo and will cover a broad range of student work from poems short stories and creative writing pieces The book will have a glossy full cover colour and it too will demonstrate the high quality work produced here at Nepean High School We will hold a book launch at school for students and parents to at-tend to recognise our students as pub-lished authors within our community
Currently extension group mem-bers are drafting creative pieces for a lsquoWhat Mattersrsquo writing competition which asks students to write about the people experiences and institutions that matter to them Entry is free and a series of cash prizes are available to finalists

Tour de Cure
Jason Stone is an Intensive Care Paramedic in the Special Casualty Ac-cess Team at Pen-rith Ambulance Station and has been living in Emu Plains for 35 years He is a father of two young beautiful and healthy girls who go to a local school and enjoys competing in triathlons He has decided to participate in the Tour de Cure rode a bike ride from Sydney to Brisbane which supports
kids with cancer and those families who are affected by
this disease It is a registered charity dedicated to raising funds for the fight against cancer In May the 2010 Tour will see a team of cyclists ride from Sydney to the Sunshine Coast a total of 1400kms They all have the same goal to raise over $1 million dollars during this tour

It was ldquocoolrdquo to come to school for the five year olds of Emu Plains when they started their educational careers on the 2nd February at their local Primary school Emu Plains Public

The Extension group is evolving and changing as the school grows and changes This year we have many ex-citing excursions opportunities litera-ture projects and writing competitions available to extension group members
The Digital animation workshop was held at school to show students how to use high tech equipment and imagina-tion to create their very own individual animation Other excursions planned for this year include a trip to Sydney Wildlife World live theatre visiting the Powerhouse Museumrsquos Vector Lab and an overnight camp to Taronga Zoo
This year the extension group will benefit from several community part-nerships which result in two separate publications which will showcase and celebrate studentrsquos creative writing The first community partnership we will be involved in is a project named lsquoMigrant Storyrsquo which sees students listening to (and scribing) the stories of those who immigrated to Australia Students will record the stories and submit them for publication It is antici-pated the book will be published and ready to launch by late June The book
launch is planned to take place during refugee week and will celebrate com-munity partnerships especially those which made the project possible Stu-dents will be publicly celebrated and acknowledged for their effort
Extension group has collaborated with the Lower Blue Mountains Ro-tary Club to produce yet another book comprised solely of student work The book will be titled lsquoTell me a storyrsquo and will cover a broad range of student work from poems short stories and creative writing pieces The book will have a glossy full cover colour and it too will demonstrate the high quality work produced here at Nepean High School We will hold a book launch at school for students and parents to at-tend to recognise our students as pub-lished authors within our community
Currently extension group mem-bers are drafting creative pieces for a lsquoWhat Mattersrsquo writing competition which asks students to write about the people experiences and institutions that matter to them Entry is free and a series of cash prizes are available to finalists

The Arms of Australia Inn Museum will be holding a display of early cricket photographs and other items of sport-ing interest from the Nepean area
The exhibition will run from the 12 to 22 of April and a 1800s style cricket match is being organised for the week-end of the 17 and 18 April

Tour de Cure
Jason Stone is an Intensive Care Paramedic in the Special Casualty Ac-cess Team at Pen-rith Ambulance Station and has been living in Emu Plains for 35 years He is a father of two young beautiful and healthy girls who go to a local school and enjoys competing in triathlons He has decided to participate in the Tour de Cure rode a bike ride from Sydney to Brisbane which supports
kids with cancer and those families who are affected by
this disease It is a registered charity dedicated to raising funds for the fight against cancer In May the 2010 Tour will see a team of cyclists ride from Sydney to the Sunshine Coast a total of 1400kms They all have the same goal to raise over $1 million dollars during this tour

It was ldquocoolrdquo to come to school for the five year olds of Emu Plains when they started their educational careers on the 2nd February at their local Primary school Emu Plains Public

The Extension group is evolving and changing as the school grows and changes This year we have many ex-citing excursions opportunities litera-ture projects and writing competitions available to extension group members
The Digital animation workshop was held at school to show students how to use high tech equipment and imagina-tion to create their very own individual animation Other excursions planned for this year include a trip to Sydney Wildlife World live theatre visiting the Powerhouse Museumrsquos Vector Lab and an overnight camp to Taronga Zoo
This year the extension group will benefit from several community part-nerships which result in two separate publications which will showcase and celebrate studentrsquos creative writing The first community partnership we will be involved in is a project named lsquoMigrant Storyrsquo which sees students listening to (and scribing) the stories of those who immigrated to Australia Students will record the stories and submit them for publication It is antici-pated the book will be published and ready to launch by late June The book
launch is planned to take place during refugee week and will celebrate com-munity partnerships especially those which made the project possible Stu-dents will be publicly celebrated and acknowledged for their effort
Extension group has collaborated with the Lower Blue Mountains Ro-tary Club to produce yet another book comprised solely of student work The book will be titled lsquoTell me a storyrsquo and will cover a broad range of student work from poems short stories and creative writing pieces The book will have a glossy full cover colour and it too will demonstrate the high quality work produced here at Nepean High School We will hold a book launch at school for students and parents to at-tend to recognise our students as pub-lished authors within our community
Currently extension group mem-bers are drafting creative pieces for a lsquoWhat Mattersrsquo writing competition which asks students to write about the people experiences and institutions that matter to them Entry is free and a series of cash prizes are available to finalists

The Extension group is evolving and changing as the school grows and changes This year we have many ex-citing excursions opportunities litera-ture projects and writing competitions available to extension group members
The Digital animation workshop was held at school to show students how to use high tech equipment and imagina-tion to create their very own individual animation Other excursions planned for this year include a trip to Sydney Wildlife World live theatre visiting the Powerhouse Museumrsquos Vector Lab and an overnight camp to Taronga Zoo
This year the extension group will benefit from several community part-nerships which result in two separate publications which will showcase and celebrate studentrsquos creative writing The first community partnership we will be involved in is a project named lsquoMigrant Storyrsquo which sees students listening to (and scribing) the stories of those who immigrated to Australia Students will record the stories and submit them for publication It is antici-pated the book will be published and ready to launch by late June The book
launch is planned to take place during refugee week and will celebrate com-munity partnerships especially those which made the project possible Stu-dents will be publicly celebrated and acknowledged for their effort
Extension group has collaborated with the Lower Blue Mountains Ro-tary Club to produce yet another book comprised solely of student work The book will be titled lsquoTell me a storyrsquo and will cover a broad range of student work from poems short stories and creative writing pieces The book will have a glossy full cover colour and it too will demonstrate the high quality work produced here at Nepean High School We will hold a book launch at school for students and parents to at-tend to recognise our students as pub-lished authors within our community
Currently extension group mem-bers are drafting creative pieces for a lsquoWhat Mattersrsquo writing competition which asks students to write about the people experiences and institutions that matter to them Entry is free and a series of cash prizes are available to finalists

The Extension group is evolving and changing as the school grows and changes This year we have many ex-citing excursions opportunities litera-ture projects and writing competitions available to extension group members
The Digital animation workshop was held at school to show students how to use high tech equipment and imagina-tion to create their very own individual animation Other excursions planned for this year include a trip to Sydney Wildlife World live theatre visiting the Powerhouse Museumrsquos Vector Lab and an overnight camp to Taronga Zoo
This year the extension group will benefit from several community part-nerships which result in two separate publications which will showcase and celebrate studentrsquos creative writing The first community partnership we will be involved in is a project named lsquoMigrant Storyrsquo which sees students listening to (and scribing) the stories of those who immigrated to Australia Students will record the stories and submit them for publication It is antici-pated the book will be published and ready to launch by late June The book
launch is planned to take place during refugee week and will celebrate com-munity partnerships especially those which made the project possible Stu-dents will be publicly celebrated and acknowledged for their effort
Extension group has collaborated with the Lower Blue Mountains Ro-tary Club to produce yet another book comprised solely of student work The book will be titled lsquoTell me a storyrsquo and will cover a broad range of student work from poems short stories and creative writing pieces The book will have a glossy full cover colour and it too will demonstrate the high quality work produced here at Nepean High School We will hold a book launch at school for students and parents to at-tend to recognise our students as pub-lished authors within our community
