maintenance performance as well as the proof of the

successful performance of reprofiling.

The handheld eddy current inspection systems developed

by PLR for the one-sided and double-sided rail and

switch inspection are based on the same algorithms of

data recording and representation of results as used for

automated rail inspection and provide compatible

inspection results.

Rail inspection systems

High infrastructure, safety and availability requirements

demand a continuous and effective analyse of the track

state by using of non-destructive testing methods. PLR’s

eddy current and ultrasonic inspection systems create

data, which are provided by an expert system for the

rating of the rail quality or maintenance planning.

The integration of automated ultrasonic and eddy

current inspection systems at rail inspection trains allows

the simultaneous detection and analyse of surface and

volume defects. The use of automated eddy current

inspection systems at reprofiling trains enables the

from the serial test of mass parts (rolling bearing body,

valve shafts, battery contacts for electric vehicles) over

temperature-independent sorting of material properties

(engine bearer) to the manual crack detection at hidden

test positions (helicopter engine, sprocket wheel of

camshafts).

Automotive and aerospace

Modern materials and complex geometries for the

automotive and aerospace industries and their suppliers

require a high degree of precision and performance to

the test equipment. In addition to a high detection capa-

bility, process reliability at full utilization and intuitive

operation are essential criteria.

The quality of components can be ensured by the equip-

ping of automated test facility as well as handheld test

instruments with PLR test technology for eddy current

and ultrasonic testing. The range of test task extends

Scope

The Training & Education center Magdeburg is your

contact as center of excellence for the training in the

range of eddy current testing as well as for test assistant

courses according to DIN 54161.

In addition to the courses in our Training & Education

Center, we offer specialized inhouse courses according

to DIN EN ISO 9712 and the test assistant standard

DIN 54161 in which we deal with your needs and

training priorities in terms of time and content and

prepare a company-specific concept for qualification

measures.

Our qualified lecturers train you according to the above-

mentioned international and national standards, which

are also the basic requirements for VDA 236-120:2016

for the automotive industry.

PLR serves in cooperation with the German Society for

Non-Destructive Testing (DGZfP) the Training & Education

center Magdeburg/PLR. We convey the skills and ability

for many testing methods.

Accredited laboratory according to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025:2005

We verify manufacturer-independent your eddy current and ultrasonic instruments as well asmagnetization devices

The verification of characteristics is carried out by PLR as accredited laboratory according to the applicable standards.

The appropriable methods are subject to the monitoring by the DAkkS. We verify eddy current and ultrasonic testing

devices as well as mobile and stationary magnetization devices on site or in our laboratory. The best engineering

skills of research and development guarantees a professional work.
