An exhausted wie told her doctor about herhusbands snoring problem. Does he keep you awake?the doctor asked. Not just me, she replied. He keepsthe whole church awake!

One o my many tasks as pastor is to keep thechurch awake, and not just during the sermon. Overtime a church can settle into a dull routine.

Tey start doing church instead o being thechurch. We cannot settle or being pretty good becausepretty good is not ok with Jesus.

Here are some signs that we are still wide awake:

Tere is reedom in worship. We never riseabove that which we worship. God is most delighted inus when we ully delight in Him. I you havent noticedour worship has been lifed to a new level.

Tere is joy in serving. A huge growingawareness is that we all have a ministry. We get to serve, not have to serve. When we do the possible, God doesthe impossible.

Tere is abundant generosity: Our church gives. You give time, energy, talents and money. You do it withjoy and sacrifice. We are not a wealthy church in termso finances. But we are rich in the right things.

Tere is a heart or the unsaved. An inwardocused church always dies. An outward ocused churchthrives. God is changing us to change our world. Ourgreatness is not in our seating capacity but in oursending capacity.

Tere is love or each other: Sunday Schoolclasses are not just about inormation. Tey are abouttransormation. Nothing transorms like love. Paulwrote Te greatest of these is love.

I have always wanted to be a part o a

community that is willing to give everything we have todo Gods will. I believe we have that kind o church atEastmont.

We begin our week o prayer or InternationalMissions this Sunday. Southern Baptist realize we cando more together than apart. We pray together, givetogether, and send missionaries together.
