Hebrews 3:13
But encourage one another daily, as long as it
is called “Today,” so that none of you may be
hardened by sin’s deceitfulness.
Why Encourage?
• Hebrews 3:13 – But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called
“Today,” so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness.
Why Encourage?
• 1 John 5:18-20 – We know that anyone born of God does not continue to
sin; the One who was born of God keeps them safe, and the evil one cannot harm them. We know that we are children of God, and that the whole world is under the control of the evil one. We know also that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know him who is true. And we are in him who is true by being in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.
Why Encourage?
• “To a Louse” – O would some Power with vision teach us
– To see ourselves as others see us!
– It would from many a blunder free us,
– And foolish notions:
– What airs in dress and carriage would leave us,
– And even devotion!

For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did
not know him, God was pleased through the foolishness of what
was preached to save those who believe.
Why Encourage?
• 2 Corinthians 4:4 – The god of this age has blinded the minds of
unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.

Why Encourage?
• 1 Corinthians 4:5 – Therefore judge nothing before the appointed time;
wait until the Lord comes. He will bring to light what is hidden in darkness and will expose the motives of the heart. At that time each will receive their praise from God.

• 1 Thessalonians 5:12-14 – Now we ask you, brothers and sisters, to acknowledge
those who work hard among you, who care for you in the Lord and who admonish you. Hold them in the highest regard in love because of their work. Live in peace with each other. And we urge you, brothers and sisters, warn those who are idle and disruptive, encourage the disheartened, help the weak, be patient with everyone.

Matthew 18:15-20 If your brother or sister sins, go and point out
their fault, just between the two of you. If
they listen to you, you have won them over.
But if they will not listen, take one or two
others along, so that “every matter may be
established by the testimony of two or three
witnesses.” If they still refuse to listen, tell it
to the church; and if they refuse to listen even
to the church, treat them as you would a
pagan or a tax collector.

1 Timothy 5:19-20 Do not entertain an accusation against an
elder unless it is brought by two or three
witnesses. But those elders who are sinning
you are to reprove before everyone, so that
the others may take warning.
