One of the main issues connected with CSR is the right use of resources, which are given to us. The best way to reduce consumption of such resources is to look at the resources which is used every day.

The electricity is one of the most needed features in our everyday life. Today with the help of new technologies we can make our consumption in average 22% lower. By such renovations need some investment and time.

This presentation will be concentrated on some features that can reduce energy consumption at our university.

Smart windowsWindows provide our homes with light, warmth, and ventilation, but they can also negatively impact at energy efficiency. We can reduce energy costs by installing energy-efficient windows in the university. If the budget is tight, energy efficiency improvements to existing windows can also help.

◉ Adding storm windows can reduce air leakage and improve comfort. Caulking and weatherstripping can reduce air leakage around windows. Use caulk for stationary cracks, gaps, or joints less than one-quarter-inch wide, and weatherstripping for building components that move, such as doors and operable windows.

Smart windows

Window treatments or coverings can reduce heat loss in the winter and heat gain in the summer. Most window treatments, however, aren't effective at reducing air leakage or infiltration.

TraditionalTraditional incandescent bulbs use a lot of energy to produce light and are no longer manufactured.

◉ 90% of the energy is given off as heat

◉ That lost energy is money we are throwing away

Newer energy-saving lightbulbs provide the choices in colors and light levels you've come to expect. The new lights are also much more efficient -so they save you money.

A+++ energy efficient equipment Energy efficient equipment is installed in our university but we also have some old computers and projectors with bad energy efficient rating. So it means that it enough space to work.

Smart bulbs/smart lighting

◉ Smart electric bulbs is another story: Smart bulbs offer a degree of control and interactivity you just can't get with traditional bulbs, like scheduled timers and remote control options.

◉ They're also more convenient; it's easier to tap on a smartphone screen than to get up and trudge over to a wall switch.

◉ Aside from keeping you out of the dark, most of the bulbs listed here can be scheduled or controlled remotely, which is great if you want to save on energy costs or you often forget to turn off the lights before leaving

Common examples of energy-efficient business equipment include:◉ computers with sleep mode or power-

down mode◉ copiers with sleep mode and double-

sided copying◉ printers with sleep mode and double-

sided printing

Energy-efficient business equipment serves a business’s needs while

consuming less energy than standard equipment.

◉ However, energy-efficient equipment is not limited to office fixtures like these. Options are available for a variety of businesses, including restaurants, construction companies, and auto dealers.

◉ During the selection of the equipment we can guided by the EU energy consumption energy scheme. The directive was implemented by several other directives thus most white goods, light bulb packaging and cars must have an EU Energy Label clearly displayed when offered for sale or rent. The energy efficiency of the appliance is rated in terms of a set of energy efficiency classes from A to G on the label, A being the most energy efficient, G the least efficient.

Implementing electronic books, electronic notes4

Page 12: Energy efficient university

The consumption of paper is important as well. With the help of new solutions in education we can reduce the amount of paper usage by:◉ Delivering the electronic versions of all of

the books needed during the education period.

◉ Increasing the number of online lectures, where students can make notes on the computer, tablet, etc.

◉ Implementing the electronic attestation and passing exams with the help of the computer. It can also make easier to check the exams results.

Page 13: Energy efficient university

Conclusion: reducing the energy consumption is not the only part of CSR,

but here we can see the trend and implement the solutions today. The

possible ways are clear but needs some planning, investing and development.

Resources needed:

◉ energy efficient equipment (TV’s, projectors, computers, printers, etc.)

◉ installation of smart windows needs to use of material and human resources.

◉ smart bulbs (lighting) “все сводится к необходимости инвестиций в сферу энергосбережния”

◉ intellectual resources (for development of the e-learning system
