Reasons for the Energy Transition in Germany

Targets of the Energiewende – Climate:
reduce GHG emission by- 40% by 2020 against 1990
Germany has made progress but with “only” -27.7% GHG emission reduction against 1990, it
will miss its 2020 target of -40%. The government has confirmed its 2030 and 2050 targets.
