In November 2005, Prime Minister Ariel Sharon authorized governmental unding orNeesh BNeesh on a trial basis. In September 2008, the Israeli government ormallyrecognized Neesh BNeesh in a decision designed to enhance Aliyah rom theWest. A unanimous cabinet decision gave the authority to the Ministry o ImmigrantAbsorption to permanently und part o Neesh BNeeshs annual Aliyah-servicing

budget. In 2010, recognizing the importance o Western Aliyah, the governmentratied a decision to und up to 50% o Neesh BNeeshs annual budget.

In May 2008, with the help o Neesh BNeesh, a Knesset lobby was established inorder to encourage Aliyah rom western countries. The lobby aims to raise awarenesso the unique needs o western Olim and urther remove obstacles that they may aceduring the initial stages o their acclimation.

COOPERATIvE vENTURE wITh ThE JEwISh AGENCY

In September 2008, Neesh BNeesh and the Jewish Agency or Israel (JAFI) reacheda historic agreement which produced an unprecedented collaborative venture orNorth American Aliyah.

The most signicant implication o the new agreement is that North American Aliyahwill now be processed through one application overseen by Neesh BNeesh.Whereas in the past, new Olim had to open an Aliyah le with the Jewish Agency andthen apply separately with Neesh BNeesh or Aliyah services, the new streamlined

process will provide a one-stop shop making it even more time ecient andconvenient or Olim.

NBN OVERSEAS ACTIVITIES

The NBN Overseas Department is responsible or increasing awareness among North Americanand British Jews regarding their Aliyah options, by conducting highly inormative and inspirationalAliyah-related programming. A comprehensive calendar o events is coordinated by NBNsproessional sta, who travel extensively to meet with potential Olim abroad.

Various orums such as: interactive Aliyah Planning Workshops, Experts Seminars onhealthcare, taxes and budgeting, and One-on-One meetings are oered to address all theneeds o prospective Olim. Additionally, events are specically catered or targeted audiencesincluding: retirees, singles, young proessionals, amilies and students on campuses.

NBNs overseas strategy also strives to remain fexible and responsive to all inquiries regardingAliyah, as people rom more remote locations express interest in NBN services. In addition, NBNleverages new technology such as a user-riendly online calendar and a comprehensive library oWebinars (online seminars) to make Aliyah inormation readily available to potential Olim.

To date, more than 30,000 individuals

have attended NBN overseas programs

The Overseas Department organizes over 500 Aliyah events each year,meeting an average o 7,000 prospective Olim annually

A concerted eort is being made to cultivate and expand NBNs partnerships with all ocialJewish denominations and major Jewish organizations. NBNs Department o Guidance and Community Resources ensures that our Olim are thriving in Israeland equipped to build successul, ulflling lives or themselves. In an eort to meet the social needs othe Olim, and proactively address their concerns, NBN has divided the country into regions, each servedby a regional social worker. Our sta helps Olim fnd appropriate communities and conducts extensiveeducational programming relating to the school system, healthcare, fnances, real estate, amily dynamicsand national service. A dedicated social worker also serves the needs o our Olim soldiers on active duty.

Neesh BNeesh helps Olim understand the Israeli educational system and fnd suitable schools or theirchildren. Our Regional Coordinators liaise with the schools and the Ministry o Education in order to createa curriculum that ocuses on the individual needs o Olim. They are also in regular contact with Oleh amiliesto help ensure a successul social and educational integration.

A comprehensive online Community Database that profles over 70 communities around the countryhas been created, so that potential Olim are able to research schools, Ulpans, summer camps and otherinormation regarding various communities across Israel, prior to their Aliyah.

Each year, NBN coordinates over 130 social and educational programs throughout Israel

A dedicated Events and Programs Coordinator oversees an extensive array o social events or children,teens, young proessionals, singles, amilies, and retirees in Israel. The social programs include seminars,hikes, museum visits, skiing, boat rides, game nights and more. They provide the perect orum or Olim toexpand their social networks and beneft rom mutual support.

Every Oleh is called on a monthly basis during their frst year o Aliyah

NBN strives to proactively identiy issues Olim may be acing beore they become more serious. The mosteective tool at our disposal or accomplishing this is regular monthly calls to the Olim inquiring abouttheir integration, their childrens adjustment, and their success in navigating the Israeli System. The socialworkers oer support and concrete advice, and also connect the Olim with valuable resources available in

their community.

Each Oleh is paired with a buddy amily

We recognize that importance o connecting Olim with a buddy amily, who is generally an experienced Olehthat assists them with their social and communal integration. This is an extremely important and benefcialrelationship or new Olim.

EMPLOYMENT & CAREER ASSISTANCE

Neesh BNeesh has a dedicated Employment Department whichhelps Olim fnd suitable jobs in their felds. The EmploymentDepartment is in touch with Olim rom the pre-Aliyah stage untilwell ater arrival in Israel, providing them with resources to enablethem to conduct job searches and fnd gainul employment.

Our sta travels regularly to cities throughout the US, Canada andthe UK conducting employment-related seminars and personalmeetings with prospective Olim in order provide inormation abouttheir felds and relevant proessional contacts.

The relationships established with these individuals oten continuevia email and phone well ater Olim arrive in Israel. The Olim areadvised on how to adapt their resumes to the Israeli market andgiven tips on interviewing and contract negotiations. The resumes oOlim are entered into the departments internal database and sent

out or appropriate jobs. Seminars and workshops on employmentrelated topics are also conducted or Olim within Israel.

The NBN Employment Department also liaises with governmentagencies in order to help acilitate local licensing or relevantproessions. We are in regular contact with the Ministries o Health,Education and Immigrant Absorption. In addition, the NBN websiteis constantly updated with relevant articles and employmentinormation. The departments sta receives hundreds o emailinquiries rom prospective Olim each month.

Since 2002, Neesh BNeesh has sponsored and acilitated the

Aliyah o more than 170 doctors and 450 medical proessionals

In response to the impending physician shortage expected in Israel in the coming years,the Legacy Heritage Foundation challenged NBN to increase the number o physicians itsponsors annually. With a generous git, NBN was able to launch a ellowship whose objectiveis to increase the number o Anglo physicians moving to Israel. In addition, NBN took uponitsel to structure an incentive program that integrates the physicians into the Israel medicalinrastructure.

The Physician Aliyah Program has been met with great success, with interest by physiciansabroad and support o the Israeli medical establishment ar exceeding our expectations. It hasalso received a remarkable response rom the US and Canadian Jewish medical communities.

GO NORTh PROGRAM

Neesh BNeesh recently launched Go North, which is aimed at encouraging Anglo Olim to settlein Northern Israel. The unparalleled $10 million project was made possible through a generousgit and partnership with the Russell Berrie Foundation (o Teaneck, NJ) together with undingrom Israeli philanthropists and rom the Government o Israel. In Spring o 2009 The Jewish

National Fund (JNF-US) became an ocial partner in this historic project providing signicantnancial,logistical and developmental support.

In January 2010, the Ministry o the Development o the Negev and Galil announced a new jointgovernment initiative with Neesh BNeesh to encourage Aliyah to Israels periphery. As part o theinitiative, the Ministry o the Development o the Negev and Galil and the Ministry o ImmigrantAbsorption will provide increased support or Olim who move to the North and South o the country.

The programs objective is to bring 1,500 NBN Olim to Northern Israel

The Go North program aims to encourage Olim who are drawn to Northern Israel but are held

back because o concerns that moving to a less developed area will be more costly and dicult.The program addresses these issues by providing signicant nancial grants and other orms oassistance specically geared to make their Aliyah and absorption experience more successul. It isdesigned to ease the transition into communities in the North by creating the conditions or seamlessproessional and social integration. The benets include enhanced nancial grants, employmentassistance, creating suitable social inrastructures and transportation subsidies. Neesh BNeeshalso appointed dedicated employment proessionals and regional coordinators who assist Olim withtheir employment and social needs.
