THE COMPLETE SOLUTION FROM ONE SOURCE
As early as in the initial planning phase,
efficiency of the cargo handling system is
the controlling factor.
CTI will solve even the most difficult mate-
rial handling requirements and will plan
your cargo handling systems.
DEVELOPMENT
Geared to cope with your particular hand-
ling requirements, a team of experienced
engineers plans and develops your cargo
handling system.
No matter whether it is a single worksta-
tion, truck dock, a complete turn-key sys-
tem on a green field site or an extension
and optimisation of your present system –
from stand alone, manually operated items
to fully automated handling systems, CTI
delivers the whole range.
The planning of a complex material hand-
ling system is more than just the combina-
tion of several items. In order to ensure
that pallets and containers are conveyed at
the right time to the right place, complete
systems must be designed.
Here CTI sets the standards. Some of the
world´s largest automated terminals have
been supplied by CTI.

MODULAR SYSTEMS FOR AIRLINES,SHIPPERS AND FORWARDERS
Other modules for example are worksta-
tions with transfer decks and weighing
scales, transfer vehicles with shuttle decks,
truck docks with side shift and movable
truck docks with all kinds of options like
pallet pushers and pallet pulling spills –
just to name a few.
With this method of supplying a full
range of readily available small functional
groups, cargo terminals of all sizes can be
served perfectly.
For small terminals, CTI provides slave
pallets for 5ft and 10ft unit load devices
(ULDs). These pallets are moved within the
warehouse with pallet movers car.go 7700,
which can also lift the pallets to interface
with standard 20 inch equipment.
New ways of putting a cargo handling sys-
tem together have been developed by CTI
Systems.
A module consists of the mechanical items
and the electrical control system that
makes the rollers, motors and sensors
work together in combination.
Not only the mechanical arrangement is
included in a module, also the electrical
control system that makes the rollers,
motors and sensors work together in com-
bination is integrated.
One of the key modules is the storage and
retrieval module including an elevating
transfer vehicle.

The advantage for the customer is the short
delivery and commissioning time and right
from start-up a reliable air cargo handling
system due to the application of proven
software.
MULTIROLLER DECK
A new developed system element for lateral
and longitudinal conveying as well as for
turning of ULDs. These elements are avail-
able for 10ft and 20ft ULDs.
The advantage of this element is one level
for conveying. Low profile conveying is pos-
sible at economical cost.
Cost efficient, flexible with less commissio-
ning time. Within the air freight terminal or
the warehouse, pallets have to be built up
or broken down.
The ULDs have to be weighed for dispatch;
CTI can supply the complete technology for
scales integrated into workstations or I/O
lanes. Storing pallets and containers is
necessary when receipt of air cargo and
delivery are at differing times.
On airside, the conveying module is desi-
gned to accept or deliver including short
term storage – to the mobile equipment
like dollies or transporters.

xible

ROLLER CONVEYOR SYSTEM
Built of a modular design, CTI Cargo Hand-
ling Systems are tailored to meet your indi-
vidual needs and requirements, and can be
expanded to benefit all your future de-
mands.
The basic element of this modular system
is the roller deck. This deck is available in
different versions: As an active element
within a conveyor section with its own
drive. As a passive element within a sto-
rage or conveyor section. The deck can be
chain-driven from a neighbouring deck or
powered via a friction drive unit activated
from a transfer vehicle (TV) or elevating
transfer vehicle (ETV). All sizes of aircraft
pallets and containers can be handled from
10ft to 20ft including wing contour.

CARRIER SYSTEM
The Carrier System for automatic or manu-
al operation uses slave pallets or carriers to
overcome the problems of the different
sizes of unit load devices in operation.
A unit load device (ULD) from the aircraft
arriving into the system is automatically
connected with a slave pallet (measuring
3.3 x 2.6 m), capable of accomodating a 10ft
unit load weighing up to 6.8 tons.
For a 20ft unit load, two carriers can be
coupled together for conveyance through
the system. The unit load and carrier
remain together within the system.

The CTI Pass-Over System is designed for
use especially in smaller air cargo terminals.
No more wasted space taken up by con-
veyors is the idea behind this system, which
is installed flush with the warehouse floor.
The conveyor wheels protrude a mere
12 mm above floor level allowing mobile
transport equipment with a wheel load of
up to 5 tons to pass over the deck.

ROLL BOX SYSTEM
The Roll Box System is designed to handle
and store, automatically, small- to medium-
sized shipments (bulk cargo) with a total
weight of up to 1000 kg in a cage-type
roll box.
Used around the build-up and break-down
areas, the roll box can be moved on its own
wheels, while within the system it is con-
veyed on specially designed roller conveyors.
The roll box may also be transported by a
forklift truck, and can be stacked.
Just like the other CTI products, the Roll Box
System is designed in modular blocks.

experience considers any individual work
procedures and building restrictions.
TELEPLATFORMS
‘Teleplatforms’, are an original CTI develop-
ment for quick access of raised aircraft
working areas. Suspended from a specific
crane trolley, a telescoping mast equipped
with a working platform can be lowered to
the hangar floor to allow working personnel
entry for lift them to any elevated aircraft
service area.

CTI RANGE OF PRODUCTS
sions a numerous range of further aircraft
service applications are being offered.
ENGINE TEST CELL INSTALLATIONS
In numerous installations CTI has success-
fully installed their patented monorail track
and carrier systems for the handling of air-
craft engines. It proved as the ideal equip-
ment for this application, due to overhead
transport of the aircraft engines from/to
the work stations from/to the preparation
hall and further into/out of test cell.
SCALES
Handling of air cargo does only work in con-
junction with the determination of weights
of the individual shipments. For this reason
CTI is providing taylormade weighing scale
technology:
Roller conveyors with load cells technology
Platform scales for weighing of ULDs on dollies or on other ground handlingequipment
Platform scales can be installed in pitsin the floor or can be equipped with sloped ramps for the installation right on the floor
Maximum weighing ranges of the scales are 6000 Ibs or 3000 kg up to 60000 Ibs or 30000 kg
Accessories are printers, large scale displays and interfaces with the IT technology
