‘Construction and Building Materials (JCBM)has grown over the last 20 years into the world’sleading peer reviewed journal for researchers andpractitioners contributing to Materials research andusage in civil engineering and the builtenvironment. With the urgent need for moresustainable construction, researchers haveresponded with papers reporting new technologiesand recycled materials incorporated into a range ofconcrete, steel, masonry, rammed earth, timber,bitumen/asphalt and advanced polymers andnatural fibres. Effective conservation of historicstructures is also a key growing area.

Given the huge increase in submissions in the lastfive years, the Editors have been able to be morefocused in choosing papers with a potential forhigh international impact. The complex nature of these flows makes their

modeling and prediction challenging tasks, for

which a deeper understanding of the physics must

proceed hand in hand with better theoretical,

computational and experimental resources. Since

its establishment in 1973, the International

Journal of Multiphase Flow has been one of the

most influential publications at the intersection

between the scientific and engineering

communities in this broad area. The journal

publishes analytical, numerical and experimental

papers addressing all aspects of momentum,

energy and mass exchange phenomena among

different phases such as occur in bubbly liquids,

disperse particle flows, gas-liquid and liquid-liquid

flows, flows in porous media, cavitation, boiling,

granular media and many others. The impact factor

of IJMF has increased year-on-year since 2007, and

today, standing at 2.230, it makes it one of the

leading journals that deal – partially or totally –

with fluid flow.
