Stormwater Inspections — 58

STORMWATER

The Stormwater program conducts many types of compliance inspections. In any given

month, Stormwater staff will see compliant sites, non-compliant sites and sites that are

just plain awful. September was a pretty good month as far as the number of compliant

job sites. This is primarily due to the lack of precipitation which makes it easier for job

sites to keep sediment on site and out of our local water ways. Below you will find

comparison graphs that show the number of inspections performed or documents

received and the total amount that have been performed or received so far, this year. The

goal is to paint you a picture of a few of our many accomplishments this month.

At the Community Picnic, Stormwater staff hosted the Prosper Stormwater management

program booth, which helps to satisfy state required education and outreach

requirements for the MS4 permit. The education and outreach booth is starting to come

together; staff was able to reach out to approximately 100 residents, demonstrating the

watershed model, and handing out Stormwater management program SWAG. Staff is

looking forward to the Christmas Festival, where we will be able to reach out to more

residents.

Education is a key component to achieving water quality and construction site

compliance. The Stormwater management program is dedicated to educating Town

residents and site workers to ensure that everybody is doing their best to protect water

quality and stay in compliance with Town Stormwater ordinance, TCEQ permit

requirements, and Federal regulations.
