As IMU Language School team, we are very happy that you have decided to study at Istanbul Medipol University. Here at Medipol University Language School, with 107 well qualified English instructors, we are sincerely dedicated to support you not only with improving your level of the English Language but also transitioning into your academic studies and your future careers. 2. VISION, MISSION, OBJECTIVES

OUR VISIONAt Istanbul Medipol University Language School, we aim to provide students with good command of the English language together with skills for independent learning and basic academic skills, to all of which they will refer during their departmental studies. We are strongly committed to the University’s vision of educating, training and raising the best professionals and citizens both at home and abroad.

OUR MISSIONLanguage School’s fundamental principles include providing excellent language education through recruiting the most qualified language instructors, implementing the most up to date combination of ELT programmes and assessment methodologies. Divided into units based on their level of English; departments and the student profile, our students are offered; top quality contemporary language instruction; fair and academically proven methodological assessment, including periodical testing of all skills which are supported with departmentally correlated projects and portfolios.

OBJECTIVESThe main objectives of Istanbul Medipol University Language School are to;

provide high-quality intensive English Language instruction to those students who have enrolled at Istanbul Medipol University to study the required English language level and essential skills.

2. VİZYON, MİSYON VE AMAÇLAR

VİZYONUMUZİstanbul Medipol Üniversitesi Dil Okulunda, öğrencilerimizin İngiliz diline iyi derecede hakim olmasını sağlamak ve bu süreçte öğrencilerimizin bölümlerinde de ihtiyaç duyacağı bağımsız öğrenme becerilerini ve temel akademik becerileri kazandırmak amaçlanmaktadır. Bu bakımdan Dil Okulumuz, üniversitemizin ülkemize ve dünyaya alanında uzman bireyler yetiştirme vizyonu doğrultusunda hareket etmektedir.

MİSYONUMUZDil Okulu olarak temel prensibimiz, alanında uzman öğretim görevlilerini istihdam ederek öğrencilerimizin İngilizceyi en iyi şekilde öğrenmesini sağlamaktır. Bu süreçte, İngiliz dili eğitimine ilişkin farklı öğretim yöntem ve teknikleri ve ölçme-değerlendirme teknikleri kullanılmaktadır. İngilizce seviyelerine, bölümlerine ve öğrenci profiline göre birimlere ayrılan öğrencilerimize, modern, metodolojik olarak kanıtlanmış ölçme-değerlendirme stratejilerini içeren, dil öğretimi sunulmaktadır. Bu öğretim, öğrencilerimizin bölümleri ile ilişkilendirilmiş projeleri ve portfolyo çalışmalarını içeren bir sınav sürecini de kapsamaktadır.

4. STUDENT CODE OF CONDUCT

4.1 IntroductionThe aim of this document is to provide a model code of practice for ethical conduct by students at Istanbul Medipol University Language School.

4.2 PrinciplesStudents admitted to higher education institutions according to the provisions of the Law on Higher Education is expected to conduct themselves in accordance with the following general principles underlined in the cover document of Code of Ethics, and those principles should apply to their relations with:

In addition, the standard of ethical behaviour expected of students is also to be expected of any persons acting on their behalf, including parents and persons with similar status.

disability or any other matter of personal preference;

Have freedom of expression, freedom of assembly and association, with a condition that these freedoms do not hinder the effective conduct of classes, comply with the policies of higher education institution, other principles of ethical behaviour such as respect for the rights of others, as well as Republic of Turkey laws;

Fair evaluation and the right to be properly informed about the grading criteria in accordance with the relevant policies of Istanbul Medipol University Language School.

Appeal his/her grades in accordance with the institution’s appeal policies and procedures;

Be free from harassment by any member of the Istanbul Medipol University community;

Be heard in case when a decision is to be taken against him/herself;

Be notified on a timely manner on disciplinary proceedings or actions;

Students of Medipol University have the following responsibilities;

Become familiar with the provisions of this Code and all the other policies of Medipol University Language School

In relation to any person or group within or external to the institution, must not offeror accept any bribe or other unlawful

financial consideration, or seek or accept any other personal favour, which may influence them in their studies, or influence others in their work;

Must immediately report any attempt to seek bribes or personal favours to the relevant authority defined in the Rules of the institution;

Must not misuse the resources of the institution, or personal or commercial information held by it, including intellectual property, for personal gain or that of any other person or group;

Must behave towards the governing board, managers, academic and support staffand fellow students in a respectful way, upholding the general principles of ethical conduct, and contribute positively and constructively to the academic work of the institution;

When participating in study or research activities, must not engage in plagiarism as defined in the Rules of the institution, fail to cite or attribute the work of others, pass off others’ work as their own work, or falsify results, and must abide by ethical principles in relation to protection of personal data, and other specific principles in defined subject areas according to the Rules of Istanbul Medipol University;

When participating in an examination or other form of assessment, must not cheat, copy

Disiplinle ilgili durumlarda uygun bir tutumla durumdan haberdar edilme.

İstanbul Medipol Üniversitesi Dil Okulu öğrencilerimizin sorumlulukları şunlardır;

İstanbul Medipol Üniversitesi Dil Okulu’nun bu ve diğer politikaları kapsamındaki hükümleri kavrama,

Kurum içi ve/veya dışı herhangi kişi veya gruplara rüşvet veya benzeri gayri resmi maddi kazanç teklif etmeme veya bu kişilerden gelen teklifleri kabul etmeme, veya herhangi bir ad altında kendilerini ya da diğerlerini alan içi çalışmalarında etkileyebilecek kişisel menfaat talebinde olmama,

Herhangi bir rüşvet ve/veya kişisel

menfaat taleplerini derhal Kurum kuralları kapsamında belirtilen ilgili mercilere bildirme,

Kurum içi kaynakları israf etmeme, veya kurum içindeki, bireysel varlıklar da dahil olmak üzere, kişisel ya da ticari bilgileri kapsamı dışında şahsi ya da belirli bir gruba özgü menfaat amacıyla kullanmama,

5. PREPARATORY PROGRAMME

ISTANBUL MEDIPOL UNIVERSITY ENGLISH LANGUAGE AND ENGLISH PREPARATORY PROGRAM

5.1 General Information With a team of experts in the field, the English Preparatory Program helps our students develop the essential skills to use the foreign language effectively. To cater such needs of our students, Istanbul Medipol University Preparatory Program is designed in four levels in accordance with Common European Framework of Reference for Languages: A1 (Beginner to Elementary), A2 (Elementary to Pre-intermediate), B1 (Pre-intermediate to Intermediate), B1+ and B2 (Intermediate to Upper-intermediate).

The completion of all levels is scheduled for 32-33 weeks (2 semesters/4 tracks). There are 26-28 class hours per week and each class hour is of 45 minutes. At the end of 32-33 weeks, our students are expected to be able to use English accurately and fluently, which corresponds to B1+ or B2 Level (Upper-intermediate to Advanced). 5. HAZIRLIK PROGRAMI

İSTANBUL MEDİPOL ÜNİVERSİTESİ İNGİLİZCE HAZIRLIK PROGRAMI 5.1 Genel BilgilerAlanında uzman olan bir ekiple, İngilizce Hazırlık Programı öğrencilerimiz yabancı dili etkili olarak kullanmalarında ihtiyaç duyacakları becerileri geliştirmelerine yardımcı olmaktadır. Öğrencilerimizin bu ihtiyacını karşılamak için, İstanbul Medipol Üniversitesi Hazırlık Programı, Diller İçin Avrupa Ortak Öneriler Çerçevesi’ne uygun olarak 4 seviye şeklinde tasarlanmıştır: A1 (Başlangıç), A2 (Alt Orta Seviye), B1 (Orta Seviye), B1+ ve B2 (Ortanın Üstü)

Tüm seviyelerin tamamlanması yaklaşık 32-33 hafta sürmektedir (2 dönem, 4 dilim). Haftada 26-28 civarında ders bulunmaktadır ve her ders 45 dakikadır. Bu 32-33 haftalık sürecin sonunda, öğrencilerimizin B1+ veya B2 seviyesine denk gelecek şekilde, İngilizcesi doğru ve akıcı olarak kullanmaları beklenmektedir. Hazırlık programı eğitim hedeflerine uygun şekilde etkili, verimli ve öğrencilerin gereksinimlerine cevap verecek nitelikte hazırlanmıştır. Akademik yıl boyunca öğrencilerin gelişimini gözlemleme ve eksikliklerini tespit etme maksadıyla birçok ölçme

The Preparatory Program is designed to be effective, efficient and responsive to the needs of the students, as required by its teaching objectives. Throughout the academic year, there are many examinations for students to see their progress and to identify their deficiencies, so that both the students and the instructors will have the opportunity to either eliminate or minimize the relevant problems with English.

The methods employed by our program are contemporary and acknowledged by language instruction systems worldwide. They are appropriate for the needs, levels and progress of our students. Our main objective is to provide the best possible language education to our students with qualified instructors. The primarily expected outcome of our program is that students can understand the language, express what they understand, and use the language in their academic studies.

5.2 How the Preparatory Program WorksThe English Preparatory Program consists of four eight-week or nine-week tracks. Students begin with General English in the first two tracks (A1-A2) and continue intensively with four main skills (Reading, Listening&Speaking, Writing and Grammar) in the following tracks.

Programımızın öncelikli hedefi öğrencilerin dili anlayabilmeleri, anladıklarını ifade edebilmeleri ve dili akademik çalışmalarında kullanabilmeleridir.

5.2 Hazırlık Programı Nasıl İşler?İngilizce Hazırlık Programı sekiz ya da dokuz haftalık dört dilimden oluşmaktadır. Ilk iki kurda öğrenciler Genel İngilizce (A1-A2) ile başlamakta ve sonrasında takip eden dilimlerde yoğun beceri temelli (Okuma, Dinleme ve Konuşma, Yazma, Dil bilgisi) devam etmektedirler. Üçüncü dilimde ise öğrencilerimizin bölüm terminolojisini öğrenmelerini hedefleyen ESP dersleri başlar. Her bir dilimin devam eden kısımlarda açıklanan detaylı bir ölçme-değerlendirme sistemi mevcuttur.

5.3 Dilim Sistemiİngilizce Hazırlık Programı her biri sekiz ya da dokuz hafta süren dört dilimden oluşmaktadır. Her dilimde tüm temel becerilere ağırlık verilmekte olup, öğrencilerin gelişimleri hedef odaklı şekilde ölçülmektedir. Öğrencilerin program sonundaki başarıları toplam ortalama

In the third track, ESP lessons are introduced, which aims at teaching departmental terminology to our students. Each track has a standard grading system as detailed in the subsequent sections.

5.3 Track SystemThe English Preparatory Program consists of four tracks, each of which is seven to eight weeks long. In each track, all basic skills are covered, and students’ progress is assessed accordingly. Students’ success is assessed at the end of the programme based on the total averages or their track scores. New classes are created after each track depending on students’ levels.

5.4 Istanbul Medipol University Language School Academic SupportOne of the unique objectives of the IMU Language School is to support students in a way they can pursue their academic studies using basic skills. Some of these skills are supported in the program through assigning their projects and portfolios with department related topics. Among these are presentation skills, teamwork, academic writing, field studies and interviews with professionals. In each track, there is one project and portfolio assignment, each constitutes 15% of the track score. Projects are assigned based on departmental topics (teamwork when available). Portfolios are of 4-5 academic writing tasks, each assigned from among department-related issues. ESP lessons starting in

5.4 İstanbul Medipol Üniversitesi Dil Okulu Akademik Destek İMÜ Dil Okulunun amaçlarından biri, öğrencilerin temel becerileri kullanarak akademik çalışmalarını yapabilmelerini sağlayacak desteği sunmaktır. Bu becerilerin bazıları program içerisinde bölümleriyle alakalı verilen proje ve portfolyo çalışmalarıyla desteklenmektedir. Bu çalışmalar arasında sunum becerileri, ekip çalışması, akademik yazım, alan çalışmaları ve alanlarındaki uzmanlarla yapılan mülakatlar bulunmaktadır.

Her bir dilimde, bir proje ve bir portfolyo çalışması bulunmaktadır ve bunların her biri dilim notunun %15’ini oluşturmaktadır. Projeler, öğrencinin okuyacağı bölümle ilişkili olmaktadır ve projenin mümkün kıldığı ölçüde ekip çalışması içerebilmektedir. Portfolyo çalışması ise 4-5 akademik yazı yazma görevinden oluşmaktadır. Her bir yazma görevi öğrencinin okuyacağı bölümle ilgili meseleleri konu almaktadır. Üçüncü dilimde başlayan ESP dersleri ise dilim ortalamasının %10’unu oluşturur. Program boyunca ayrıca bölüme yönelik dersler/seminerler verilmektedir.

5.5 DevamsızlıkÖğrenciler için derslere devamlılık zorunludur ve dilim not başarıları için gereklidir. Devamsızlık kayıtlarının tutulması katı bir program politikasıdır ve tüm öğretim görevlileri bu

5.5 AttendanceAttendance to classes is obligatory for students to uphold their achievement in all tracks. A strict policy is applied to keep records of attendance and all instructors are responsible to do so as it affects the weekly TA scores. However, students are permitted to be absent from 15% of the total number of classes. Although the number of classes is announced to students during the Orientation Program, at the beginning of the academic year, the exact amount of absenteeism cannot be stated due to the calendar changes based on the level’s class hours and also the academic year changes imposed by the government and YOK. Students are responsible to track their absenteeism scores announced at the end of each track. Any student exceeding the total number, which equals to 15% of the actual classes done, fails to take the PLAT Exam.

5.6 Tutorial HoursEach instructor allocates an appropriate tutoring period (minimum one hour a week) for individuals or group of students in respond to their request via email.

5.7. Departmental TerminologyESP classes are given to students who are grouped according to their departments in the Language School. The aim of the ESP course is to familiarise our students with the terminology knowledge related to their departments.

5.6 Birebir Çalışma SaatleriÖğrencilerimizin e-posta yoluyla istekte bulunması halinde her bir öğretim görevlisi uygun bir zamanını (en az haftada 1 saat) birebir çalışmak üzere öğrencilere veya öğrenci gruplarına ayırır.

5.7 Bölüm TerminolojisiDil Okulu’nda bölümlerine göre gruplandırılan öğrencilerimize 3. ve 4. dilimde ESP dersi verilir. ESP dersinin amacı öğrencilerimize bölümleriyle ilgili terminolojiye aşinalık kazandırmaktır.

5.8 Summer CourseA non-mandatory summer course is offered to those students who fail the preparatory year programme. The course consists of 6 weeks intensive revision of the course-based program previously is studied in the programme.

5.9 Study Opportunities AbroadIstanbul Medipol University offers various opportunities for studying the preparatory school abroad in countries including the USA, the UK and Canada. These studies can be for either certain tracks or the complete preparatory program. There are also opportunities of youth exchange programs including Erasmus+(ZIFT) and other EU Exchange Programs.

5.10 Be Your Own VoiceOur students can be class representatives in order to voice the needs and feedback of their classmates. Class representatives evaluate the various implementations throughout an academic year.

5.11. Individual Study SupportThere was a common question that our students frequently voiced during the academic year: ‘How should I study English?’ In order to answer this question, all of our instructors collaborated and prepared an individual study table for our students. Thanks to this table, our students will not confine themselves to what they learn in the classroom but will also be able to study regularly and systematically outside the classroom.

5.12. Language School Student ClubsOur Language School aims to ensure that our students are active outside the school as well as in the school. We believe that real life experiences contribute to both personal and academic development. Therefore, we aim to bring our students and instructors together in out-of-school activities. Some of the clubs you can join at the Language School are the Speaking Club, Drama Club, Recreational Club and Social Responsibility Club.

6. ASSESSMENT AND EVALUATION SYSTEMOnce students are placed in classes at the suitable English language level, a programme is based on ELT objectives of the Language School and the results of need analysis,

5.9 Yurt Dışında Eğitim Alma Fırsatlarıİstanbul Medipol Üniversitesi, ABD, İngiltere ve Kanada dahil yabancı ülkelerde hazırlık okulu okuma konusunda çok çeşitli fırsatlar sunmaktadır. İsteğe göre belirli dilimlerin veya tüm yılın yurt dışında okunması mümkündür. Bunun yanı sıra Erasmus+(ZIFT) değişim programları ve çeşitli AB Değişim Programları gibi fırsatlar da mevcuttur.

5.10 Kendi Sesin OlÖğrencilerimiz, sınıf arkadaşlarının ihtiyaçlarını ve geri bildirimlerini dile getirmek için sınıf temsilcileri olabilir. Sınıf temsilcileri bir akademik yıl boyunca çeşitli uygulamaları değerlendirir.

Bireysel Çalışma DesteğiÖğrencilerimizin akademik yıl içerisinde sıkça seslendirdikleri, ortak bir soru vardı: ‘İngilizce’ye nasıl çalışmalıyım?’ Bu sorunun cevabını verebilmek için, bütün öğretim görevlilerimiz iş birliği içinde öğrencilerimiz için bireysel çalışma tablosu hazırladılar. Bu tablo sayesinde öğrencilerimiz, yalnızca sınıf içinde öğrendikleriyle kalmayacak, sınıf dışında da düzenli ve sistematik bir şekilde çalışabileceklerdir.

5.12. Dil Okulu Öğrenci KulüpleriDil Okulumuz, öğrencilerimizin okul içinde aktif olduğu kadar okul dışında da aktif olmasını hedefler. Gerçek hayat deneyimlerinin hem kişisel gelişime hem de akademik gelişime katkı sağladığına inanır. Bu yüzden öğrencilerimizi ve öğretim görevlilerimizi okul dışı aktivitelerde buluşturmayı amaçlıyoruz. Dil Okulunda katılabileceğiniz kulüplerden bazıları Konuşma Kulübü, Drama Kulübü, Sosyal Aktivite Kulübü ve Sosyal Sorumluluk Kulübü.

6. ÖLÇME VE DEĞERLENDİRME SİSTEMİÖğrenciler kendi İngilizce seviyelerine uygun sınıflara yerleştirildikten sonra, Dil Okulu’nun İngilizce öğretim hedeflerini ve fakültelerde öğrencilerin akademik becerilerinin desteklenmesine ilişkin yürütülen

6.1 ExemptionStudents who achieve a passing score of 75 from İstanbul Medipol University Preparatory Program Proficiency Exam or who document a sufficient score received from a YÖK (Higher Education Council)-approved exam (YDS-E-YDS: 70, CAE: B, CPE: C, TOEFL IBT: 84, PEARSON PTE Academic: 71) within the last three years are exempt from the Preparatory Program.

6.1.1 Foreign National Student ExemptionIn order for the foreign national students to be exempt from the preparatory program, they are required to have lived in a foreign country where the desired language is spoken, at least 3 years and/or to have completed their upper-secondary education in such countries.

6.1.2 Voluntary Preparatory Program StudiesStudents who study at Turkish medium instruction departments are allowed to study one-year English preparatory program on their will. Volunteer students can use their program completion certificates when needed for changing their departments.

6.1.2 İsteğe Bağlı Hazırlık OkumaÖğretim dili Türkçe olan programlara yerleşen öğrenciler, istedikleri takdirde bir yıl İngilizce Hazırlık Programı’nda okuyabilirler. Bu öğrenciler İngilizce Hazırlık zorunluluğu bulunan bir bölüme geçiş yapmak istediklerinde, İstanbul Medipol Üniversitesi Hazırlık Programı’ndan alacakları sertifikaları (hazırlık programını başarıyla bitirdikleri takdirde) kullanabilirler.

6.2 English Proficiency ExamUpon enrolment for Istanbul Medipol University, students of departments where the language of instruction is English, take a proficiency exam. This proficiency exam not only tests whether students’ level of English is adequate to be exempt from the Preparatory Program, but also determines their level of English for the Preparatory Program.

The exam consists of five sections; Listening, Reading, Vocabulary, Use of English and Writing. The passing grade is 75.

Students who get scores from 60 to 74 take a subsequent Speaking Test to decide on whether they will be exempted from the Preparatory Program.

Students who score 75 or above in the Speaking Test are also exempted from the preparatory program and continue in their departments. Those who fail at any of these stages are placed at an appropriate level according to their results and study in the English Preparatory Program for one year.

6.2 İngilizce Muafiyet Sınavıİstanbul Medipol Üniversitesinde öğretim dili İngilizce olan bölümlere kayıt yaptıran öğrenciler, kayıt sonrasında bir muafiyet sınavına girmektedir. Bu sınav yalnızca öğrencinin İngilizce seviyesinin muaf olabilecek düzeyde olup olmadığını sınamakla kalmayıp aynı zamanda da öğrencinin hazırlık programında yerleştirileceği İngilizce seviyesini tespit etmektedir.

Bu sınav beş bölümden oluşmaktadır: Dinleme, Okuma, Kelime Bilgisi, Dil Kullanımı ve Yazı Yazma. Sınavın geçme (hazırlık programından muaf olma) notu 75’tir.

Bu sınavdan 60-74 düzeyinde not alan öğrenciler, hazırlık programından muaf olup olamayacaklarına karar verilebilmesi için bir Konuşma Sınavı’na tabi tutulurlar.

Konuşma Sınavı’ndan 75 ve üzerinde not alan öğrenciler, hazırlık programından muaf olurlar ve bölümlerindeki eğitimlerine başlayabilirler. Muafiyet Sınavı’nın herhangi bir aşamasından başarısız olan öğrenciler ise 1 yıl İngilizce Hazırlık Programı’nda okumak üzere sınav sonuçlarına göre uygun sınıflara yerleştirilirler. 6.2.1 Half-Term Proficiency ExamRequired by YÖK (Higher Education Council), at the end of the first semester (Track 2), another Proficiency Exam is given by the programme.

6.3. Make-Up ExamsIn accordance with Article 37 of the Istanbul Medipol University Associate Degree and Undergraduate Education and Training Regulation published in the Official Gazette dated 17 August 2012 and numbered 28367 and entered into force as of 2012-2013 academic year, our students are required to document the health excuses arising during their education with the report they received from the Application and Research Hospitals of Istanbul Medipol University. On the days of (public) holidays, reports from state hospitals are requested. If the submitted reports are approved by the board of directors, make-up exams are organized and executed.

6.2.1 Ara Dönem Muafiyet SınavıYÖK tarafından düzenlenen bir uygulama olarak, ilk dönem sonunda (yani 2. Dilim sonunda) bir Muafiyet Sınavı daha Hazırlık Programı tarafından yapılmaktadır.

6.3. Mazeret Sınavları17 Ağustos 2012 tarih ve 28367sayılı Resmi Gazete’de yayımlanan ve 2012-2013 eğitim-öğretim yılından itibaren yürürlüğe giren İstanbul Medipol Üniversitesi Önlisans ve Lisans Eğitim ve Öğretim Yönetmeliğinin hastalık izni başlıklı 37. Maddesi uyarınca öğrencilerimizin eğitim süresinde ortaya çıkan sağlık mazeretlerini İstanbul Medipol Üniversitesine bağlı Uygulama ve Araştırma Hastanelerinden almış oldukları rapor ile belgelendirmesi gerekmektedir. Tatil veya resmi bayramlara denk gelen günlerde devlet hastalarından rapor istenmektedir. Teslim edilen raporlar yönetim kurulu onayından geçtiği takdirde öğrencilerin mazeret sınavları düzenlenmektedir.

Catering/CafeteriasIstanbul Medipol University’s catering services at Kavacık Campuses are operated by a private catering firm. Meals are served three times a day for breakfast, lunch and dinner in Kavacık Campuses where our male and female dormitories are located. Meals are served both as fix menus and à la carte. Cafes, cafeterias and snack bars in campuses serve drinks, breakfast, sandwiches, hamburgers, pastries, pies and bagel varieties.

9.2. Yeme-İçme/Kafeteryaİstanbul Medipol Üniversitesinin Kavacık’taki kampüslerinde yeme-içme hizmetleri özel bir catering firması tarafından yürütülmektedir. Yemekler günde üç öğün olarak iki kampüste de sunulmaktadır. Yurtlar da yine kampüs içinde bulunmaktadır. Yemekler hem fiks menü hem de alakart usulü sunulmaktadır. Kafeler ve kantinlerde kahvaltı, içecek, sandviç, hamburger ve pastane ürünleri bulunmaktadır.

9.3. Servislerİstanbul’un merkezi bölgelerine erişim servisler tarafından sağlanabilmektedir. (Ücretli)

Health ServicesA campus based (Kavacık) clinic reacts emergency situations for students and staff and provide primary health care services. In cases where further examination and treatment is required, the students are under the assurance of Medipol group hospitals. There is always a nurse and a practitioner present in Kavacık clinics.

9.4. Sağlık HizmetleriKampüste bulunan (Kavacık) revir, öğrencilere ve personele acil durumlarda yardımcı olmakta ve temel sağlık hizmetleri sunmaktadır. Revirde daima bir hemşire ve bir pratisyen hekim mevcuttur. Daha ayrıntılı muayene ve tedavi gerektiren durumlarda öğrenciler Medipol grubuna bağlı hastanelerde sağlık hizmeti alabilirler.

Psychological Counselling and Guidance UnitIndividual and group counselling services are provided within the framework of psychological counselling and guidance services. During the school period, counselling services are provided in the unit by an appointment system and are held at designated times with 45-minute-sessions where the activities are carried out to support students with their individual, emotional and social developments. Counselling services are free of charge. In the counselling services the process is carried out within the framework of principles such as confidentiality, trust, volunteerism, equality, and acceptance among others.

The services are given based on principles such as confidentiality, trust, volunteerism, equality, and acceptance. Counselling practises are conducted in terms of both individual and group cases.

9.7. Psikolojik Danışmanlık ve Rehberlik BirimiRehberlik ve psikolojik danışmanlık hizmetleri çerçevesinde bireysel ve grup danışma hizmeti sunulmaktadır. Öğrencilerin bireysel, duygusal ve sosyal gelişimlerini desteklemek amacıyla çalışmaların yürütüldüğü birimde, okul dönemi boyunca danışmanlık hizmetleri randevu sistemiyle verilmekte ve belirlenen saatlerde 45 dakikalık oturumlar şeklinde yapılmaktadır. Danışmanlık hizmetleri ücretsizdir. Danışmanlık hizmetlerinde süreç; gizlilik, güven, gönüllülük, eşit ilişki ve kabul ilkeleri çerçevesinde yürütülmektedir.

Campus SecurityA private security company provides security in all campuses. Individuals and vehicles are checked at security entrance and exits. Students can enter the campus with their student IDs by using the turnstiles at the campus entrance.

Students can have visitors come and see them at the campus by going to the information desk with them and registering them with their ID. Once that is done the visitor can be escorted from the campus entrance with a visitor’s badge.

Clubs/ActivitiesThere is a remarkable number of social clubs at Istanbul Medipol University in which students can participate in accordance with their interest areas. Those students who are interested in joining the clubs can refer to the website, Language School secretary and instructors as well.

Kulüplere katılmakla ilgilenen öğrenciler internet sitesine bakabilir, Dil Okulu sekreterliğiyle görüşebilir veya hocalarına danışabilirler.

10. EMERGENCY CASESThe overarching health and safety retention programme in Istanbul Medipol University strongly imposes that all measures are taken for any emergency cases in line with national laws and regulations. The directives are in practice in all campuses. The staff members responsible for coordinating and leading evacuation, first aid and gathering processes are assigned by the university’s health and safety department. All instructors undergo health and safety training regularly. New recruits are also trained within their induction period. Instructors are responsible for leading the evacuation and other measures within their authority (classrooms, corridors, the building).

The communication and coordination with the central health and safety department is carried out by the supervisors assigned to do so. In case of emergency, students are required to remain calm and follow the instructions of the authorized personnel and supervisors/instructors.

10. ACİL DURUMLARİstanbul Medipol Üniversitesinin sağlık ve güvenlik programı her türlü acil duruma yönelik olarak kanunlar ve yönetmelikler tarafından şart koşulan tüm tedbirlerin alınmasını zorunlu kılar. Gerekli tedbirler tüm kampüslerde uygulanmaktadır. Tahliye, ilk yardım ve toplanma süreçlerini koordine etmek ve bu süreçlere önderlik etmekten sorumlu olan personel üniversitenin sağlık ve güvenlik birimi tarafından belirlenmiştir. Tüm öğretim elemanları düzenli sağlık ve güvenlik eğitimleri almaktadır. Yeni işe alınan tüm personel oryantasyon döneminde bu eğitimleri aldıktan sonra işe başlamaktadır. Öğretim elemanları yetki alanları dahilinde (sınıf, koridor ve bina) tahliye ve diğer tedbirleri uygulamaktan sorumludur. Sağlık ve güvenlik birimi ile iletişim ve koordinasyon, görevli birim danışmanları tarafından yürütülür. Acil durumlarda öğrencilerin sakin kalması ve yetkili personelin ve birim danışmanlarının talimatlarına uymaları gerekmektedir.
