• A neurosurgeon’s job is to do surgical treatment of disorders of the central and peripheral nervous system. This includes tumors, and the infections of the brain and spine.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Complete a fellowship
4 years of pre-medical undergraduate study
4 years of medical school
One year internship in general surgery.
5-7 years in a neurosurgery residency program

• I want to pursue this career because I have always wanted to be a neurosurgeon since I was little. It would be a very heavy job that involves peoples’ lives, but I believe that that would make it interesting to learn more about the body and its functions.
