Teaching English for Business in the Bilingual Business Leader Program of Rikkyo University College of Business. Also teaching courses in Environmental Communication and Outdoor Leadership. Active in the North American Association for Environmental Education and as a board member of the American Committee for KEEP (Kiyosato Educational Experiment Project.)

Experience-Based Leadership EducationAre certain people born leaders or can the experience of certain challenges bring out and refine leadership skills in individuals? Outdoor leadership education, pioneered by organizations like the Boy Scouts and Outward Bound, is increasingly being used in higher education and in corporate leadership development. Further research can determine whether a combination of leadership and environmental education can produce leaders for a sustainable future.

Outdoor Leadership

Content-Based Language Learning and Environmental CommunicationContemporary research on language education points to content-based language learning of subjects such as business, sustainability, and the environment as being eff ective in the integrated language and content classroom. The College of Business at Rikkyo University has pioneered a bilingual business curriculum that is student-centered, integrated, and communicative. Research and discussion of broad themes such as sustainability in business are being shown to be eff ective in this globalized course of study.
