Task focus• Establish an English portal of “Digital Taiwan – Culture & Nature” to
integrate all TELDAP resources
• Expand international exchanges: To share information, through the portal, with global organizations, e.g. The Culture Mondo Network (世界文化入口網 ) and GBIF (全球生物多樣性資訊機構 ); TELDAP achievements can be viewed from worldwide websites
• Integrate non-TELDAP English-language databases established by Taiwan’s various agencies and institutions
• Culture: Council for Cultural Affairs (www.culture.tw)• Nature: NSC, COA, MOI’s National Parks, MEA’s Water Resources Agency,
EPA, Ministry of Education, etc.
• Introduce new techniques and standards from abroad

Problems
• “Open access data sharing” (e.g. Creative Commons) needs to be advocated
• Material highly professional and in Chinese, translation pace slow
• Entry barrier low and duplicability high for digitization work, how to safeguard quality?
