Vocabulary- Make sure yours is correct
1. Activism (N) – An effort to promote direct social, political, economic and environmental change.
2. Genocide(N) - the deliberate killing of people who belong to a particular racial, political, or cultural group
Memoir(N) - a written account in which someone (such as a famous performer or politician) describes past experiences
Epic Hero(N)-a brave and noble character admired for great achievements or affected by grand events.(Ex. Beowulf)
Eschew(v)-to avoid (something) especially because you do not think it is right, proper, etc.
Burkas(N)- a long piece of clothing that covers the face and body and that is worn by some Muslim women in public places
Substantiate (V)-to establish by proof or competent evidence
Feudalism(N)a social system that existed in Europe during the Middle Ages in which people worked and fought for nobles who gave them protection and the use of land in return
Serfs(N) - a person in the past who belonged to a low social class and who lived and worked on land owned by another person
Nobility(N)- the body of persons forming the noble class in a country or state
