English Lesson Plan (Lesson study) School : SJK C Kai Dee Sibu Date : 7 Oct 2015 Class : Year 4 and 5 Time : 1300-1400 Subject : English Time Frame : 60 minutes Topic : Reading skills Moral Value : Love environment, Patriotism Content Standard : Learning Standard : 2.2 By the end of the 6-year primary schooling, pupils will be able to demonstrate understanding of variety of linear and non-linear texts in the form of print and non-print materials using a range of strategy to construct meaning. 2.2.2 Able to read and understand phrases and sentences from: (a) Linear texts. Learning Objective : By the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to: a) Draw a double bubble map based on the text. b) Comment their choice within these two places( Kenyir Lake and Redang Island) Pupil’s Experience : Pupils have learnt about the difference between Lake and Island in daily life BBM Video, projector headlight, A4 paper, double bubble map Teaching Strategic : Warm Up (5 minutes) 1. Teacher shows a video (Malaysia Amazing). 2. Teacher asks questions. 3. Teacher relates the topic of the lesson to the video. Presentation (10 minutes) 1. Teacher guide students to read the text and explains the meaning of the text by showing some pictures (Appendix 1). 2. Teacher shows the video of Kenyir Lake and Redang Island. 3. Pupils read the text Practice (15 minutes) 1. Teacher divides pupils into three groups. 2. Teacher distributes every group an A4 paper. 3. Pupils draw a double bubble map (Appendix 2) with the similarities and differences between two places.

(5 minutes)1. Teacher shows the video again.2. Teacher sums up the lesson by emphasizing the moral values

of the text. (Love environment, Patriotism)
