B2 If studying, users at this level can ask questions during a lecture or presentation on a familiar or predictable topic, although this may be done with some difficulty. They can also give a short, simple presentation on a familiar topic. They can take part in a seminar or tutorial, again with some difficulty.
C1 If studying, users at this level can give a clear presentation on a familiar topic, but may have difficulty developing or explaining complex points, or answering unpredictable questions. In a seminar or tutorial, they can present and, to some extent, justify their opinions, but may not be able to handle probing or hostile questioning.

IELTS Cambridge English Advanced (CAE) is designed to indicate an individual’s position within a broad range of competence (A1 – C2) Results global level and also by skill Bands 1 - 9
is pitched at level C1 and evaluated at this level of competence in all skills Results global level A, B, C (pass) & D (fail) plus numerical total
emphasises the ability of the candidate to use English for the tearget purposes at a particular moment in time
is often used as a step forming part of the Cambridge English ladder: Key (KET), Preliminary (PET), First (FCE), Advanced (CAE) and Proficiency (CPE)
reflects target purposes in task types (living and studying in an English-speaking environment)
serves as a record of attainment for general and academic contexts
