Read Catastrophe Cat and answer questions 1 to 8.

Catastrophe Cat Catastrophe Cat

Lives in our houseShe doesn’t mind dogsShe won’t chase a mouse.

She sleeps all day longIf there’s nobody thereBut when we come homeShe gets quite a scare.

Cat skates on the table And breaks all the dishesShe scratches the couch And knocks over the fishes.

She hangs off the curtainsThen skids on the floorGrandma moves quickly As Cat thumps the door.

My mum likes to pat CatBut Cat won’t sit still. She hides in the cupboard Waiting until

Mum gets the sausagesReady for teaThen Catastrophe swipes them And leaves none for me.

She waits in the hallwayOutside Dad’s door And she starts to wail When he starts to snore.

You’d think Dad would learnBut he chases the catShe moves so swiftlyHe trips on the mat.

And all through the house We hear Meeeeow and Owww‘That cat is a nuisanceGet rid of it now!’

But despite all the messThe noise and the strife

We all love our CatShe’s part of our life.
