Enhanced Reduced Thrust at takeoff 4 OLM FBW 2006
Flexible take-off thrust is currently limited down to typically 75% ofthe full rated take-off thrust
It will be extended to reach down to 60% from the full rated take-offthrust in the forthcoming FADEC standards :
FADEC SCN19 for IAE powered A/C
– Availability : Q3 2006
FADEC 5BM for CFM ones
– Availability : Q2 2006
The Flexible Temperature extension is subject to an aircraftmodification

Enhanced Reduced Thrust at takeoff 5 OLM FBW 2006
Status on A320 family / Derated take-off
6 levels of fixed derated take-off have been introduced on A320family, covering a range of reduced thrust from 4% to 24% (by stepsof 4%)
This 24% derate capability was implementedIn FADEC 5BL available through MOD 33910 (CFM)
In EEC SCN17 available through MOD 33909 (IAE)
Extension of this capability down to 40%, by addition of a seventhlevel of derate, is planned in the forthcoming FADEC standards.

Enhanced Reduced Thrust at takeoff 12 OLM FBW 2006
Conclusion
Flexible takeoff is the standard way to perform a reducedthrust takeoff
Derated takeoff can bring performance improvements onrunway limited dispatch conditions
Enhanced thrust reduction programme has been launched inAirbusMore flexibility for thrust selection
less severe engine operations (lower stress on engine parts)
higher engine reliability
improved maintenance cost via longer engine on-wing life
