TWGSS Careers Expo • Objectives:
• To guide students to explore different options of
learning and employment
• To assist students in setting their learning and career
goals
TWGSS Careers Expo 2011 • Students involved: S4 and S5 students
• 11 alumni working in different professions (doctor,
solicitor, barrister, architect, engineer, news anchor,
reporter, air traffic control officer, accountant and
investment banking) were invited to share their work
experience with the senior form students in the post
exam period.
• After the sharing in the hall, the students entered
different rooms to gain a deeper understanding
about the professions they were interested in.
TWGSS Careers Expo 2012 • Students involved: S4 to S6 students
• *Parents of the S4 to S6 students were also invited.
• Keynote speech titled ‘Keys to Success in the
Workplace’ by the Guest of Honour, Mr Richard
Mak, a graduate of Class 1981.
TWGSS Careers Expo 2012 • Together with Mr Mak, 27 alumni working in different
professions including medicine, dentistry, surveying, accounting, law, speech therapy, engineering, news reporting, civil service, advertising, marketing, public relations, property management, hotel management, travelling and investment banking were invited to share their work experience with our students in the sharing sessions.
• The S4 to S6 students and their parents attended two sharing sessions on the professions they were most interested in.

• *Parents of the S3 to S6 students were also invited.
• Keynote Speech titled ‘Pursuing Your Dreams’ by
the Guest of Honour, Mr KWOK Ming-cheung, a
graduate of Class 1966.
TWGSS Careers Expo 2013 • Together with Mr KWOK, 34 alumni working in
different professions including medicine,
physiotherapy, surveying, accounting, law, property
management, engineering, journalism, civil service,
marketing, public relations, finance, investment
banking, education, social work, design,
information technology and air traffic control were
invited to share their work experience with our
students and the participating parents, who
attended two sharing sessions on the professions
they were most interested in.

• *Parents of S3 to S6 students were also invited.
• Keynote speech titled ‘Starting from Psychology’ by
the Guest of Honour, Professor AU Terry Kit-fong, a
member of Class 1976.
TWGSS Careers Expo 2014 • Along with Professor AU, 41alumni working in
different professions including medicine, nursing,
pharmacy, physiotherapy, surveying, property
management, engineering, journalism, civil service,
marketing, finance, investment banking,
accounting, law, education, translation, journalism,
social work, information technology and flight
services were invited to share their work experience
with our students and the participating parents,
who attended three sharing sessions on the
professions they were most interested in.
TWGSS Careers Expo 2015 • Students involved: S4 to S6 students
• Keynote Speech titled ‘Positive Attitude Towards
Work’ by the Guest of Honour, Ms HUNG Yin, Alice,
an alumna of TWGSS.
TWGSS Careers Expo 2015 • In the Mentorship Session, 80 alumni who had
volunteered to be mentors held a meeting with
their charges, S4 to S6 students. Afterwards, there
were two Alumni Sharing Sessions, during which the
alumni from different professions, including
medicine, nursing, physiotherapy, radiography,
speech therapy, surveying, property management,
architecture, civil service, marketing, finance,
human resources management, investment
banking, accounting, law, education, translation,
social work and information technology, shared
their experience of work with the S4 to S6 students.
TWGSS Careers Expo 2015 • After the mentoring session, students were free to
attend two other professions they were interested in
in the two alumni sharing sessions.
Careers Expo 2015 Preparation
• 1. Marked the date in the school calendar (in the
previous school year)
• Did a survey with the prospective S4 to S6 students
(during the post-exam period in the previous school year)
• 2. Compiled the survey results (during the summer
holiday)
• 3. Wrote a letter to be posted to the website of the
Alumni Association (in early August)
• 4. Compiled the information of the alumni who had
replied (in August and September)
• 5. Matched the students with the alumni (in September)
Careers Expo 2015 Preparation
• 6. Held a meeting with the Careers teachers and
student helpers (in early October)
• 7. Informed students about the background of their
mentors (in early October)
• 8. Made amendments according to the wishes of
the students (in early October)
• 9. Briefed the students on the Careers Expo and set
their expectations(in early October)
• 10. Sent the mentee list, rundown, floor plans and
other information to the alumni (in early October)
Advantages of inviting alumni for sharing
• 1. They know the culture of the school well.
• 2. It is easier for the current students to establish
relationships with alumni. This can help to foster their
sense of belonging to the school.
• 3. They know the school campus well.
• 4. It is a good way to connect the alumni with the
school.

• In order to help students explore different options of
learning and employment and to strengthen the
linkage with the past students, five alumni talks have
been organized this year.
