Dear Members of Blessed Sacrament Cathedral Parish, Last weekend The Most Reverend Edward C. Malesic, JCL, Bishop of Greensburg announced a number of clergy changes in the Diocese. One of them involves Blessed Sacrament Cathedral Parish. Here is the official announcement: Effective Tuesday, October 15, 2019 Resignation of Office: The Reverend Dominic Obour, at his own request, has resigned from Parochial Vicar of Blessed Sacrament Cathedral, Greensburg, and is leaving our Diocesan International Priests’ Program. What this means is that Fr. Dominic, at his own request, will be leaving both our parish and the Diocese of Greensburg on Tuesday, October 15, 2019. We will not have an immediate replacement for him so we will be utilizing our retired clergy and a few others in the area to assist at our Liturgies. A more permanent solution will occur as soon as that is possible, but probably not before the New Year. Fr. Dominic did not feel that he could do both parish work and graduate work at the same time. Fr. Dominic communicated this time-conflict to the Bishop and tendered his resignation late last week. Please join me in wishing Fr. Dominic well in his future endeavors. Blessings, Msgr. Riffle
