Our teamRutland Care Village employs approximately 100 staff all of whom are trained in the key aspects of care delivery, to ensure the provision of a safe, quality service to our client group.
Our staff also benefit from a vocational training programme, and are regularly supported by our Quality Matters Team to embark upon specialist dementia training, with an emphasis on internal promotion and staff development, our nursing team also receive regular refresher training to ensure that we employ modern working practices for clients who need daily nursing input.

LocationRutland Care Village is located close to the centre of the busy market town of Oakham, giving good access to local shops and amenities, just a short drive away from local beauty spots such as Rutland Water and the surrounding wildlife reserves.

Rutland Care Village is a National Health Care Design Award winning complex, offering a wide range of services to clients whose needs are associated with old age, frailty and dementia, with a specialist nursing service available for clients with complex medical conditions. In addition to our four high quality care centres the Village also offers 29 one and two bedroom cottages for clients who wish to retain independence over the majority of their daily lives, and a 20 person day centre for clients needing social stimulus and interaction.

Accommodation and servicesRutland Care Village provides for a total of 82 clients in four separate care centres, all offering slightly different services to elderly clients who need support due to their old age and frailty. We are also able to offer highly specialist and personalised dementia care services, with nursing support available to all of our clients. In addition, the centre can also accommodate clients with a physical disability, offering permanent or short-term respite stays in addition to a highly specialised palliative care service.
Prospective clients Prior to any admission to the home our staff team will carry out an individual care plan assessment, which will focus on client’s specific choices and needs. These care plans will be structured to the clients preferences and will focus on maintaining and developing as much independence as possible.
Whilst accepting that many of our clients will be suffering from dementia, we offer a sensitive support service to allow clients to embark upon a variety of daily living tasks. All will be offered the opportunity to personalise their rooms and to maintain as much choice and independence as they either choose or are able to accommodate.
In addition to our more traditional services the occupants of our 29 cottages receive daily “pastoral” support to ensure that all is well, offering the opportunity to purchase care and support on an “as needs” basis, promoting and maintaining independent living, safe in the knowledge that help is on hand if required.
Activities We are proud to offer a thriving activity programme, which focuses on regular reminiscence sessions and a variety of either individual or group activities with regular trips out into the local community on our wheelchair adapted Mercedes mini-buses. More local trips can be accommodated in our courtesy taxi, which is free to use for all clients.
The care village also has a thriving residents committee with regular events being held. Our day centre ‘Brambles’ regularly hosts events for clients of the home and the local community, giving a unique “Village” feel to the service we provide.

Quorn Grange & Belvoir CourtTwo separate 25 bed, dual registered care homes for elderly clients who need support associated with old age and frailty, and or an associated mental health condition. Both homes can also provide a nursing service to clients with associated medical conditions in all single room accommodation, with full en-suite bathrooms and spacious lounge and dining areas, giving all clients access to our on site Day Centre, Brambles!
Cottesmore LodgeA 24 bed, dual registered care home for clients with dementia. The home offers a highly specialised service, our on-site nursing team can also support clients with associated medical conditions. All of our accommodation is offered in single room accommodation, all with full en-suite bathrooms and affording fabulous access to our safe, secure landscaped gardens and sensory areas.
Bracken CottageA high quality 8 bed home which offers support to clients with dementia, for those who remain able to participate and enjoy daily living tasks. Our domestic style kitchen and laundry areas are safe and secure, but offer clients the opportunity to maintain as much independence as they choose, all accommodation is offered in spacious, single en-suite rooms.
Brambles Day CentreA 20 place day centre for clients who wish to enjoy a daily activity programme. Most clients attending do so by utilising their personal budgets and can book on an “as needs” basis. Our courtesy transport and thriving activity programme ensure that Brambles offers a vibrant atmosphere with good quality food and refreshments, often joining clients of our care villages for special events and occasions
Extra Care CottagesOur care village also offers 29 individual cottages for clients who can live independently, but safe in the knowledge that care and support is on hand. All occupants of the cottages receive a daily courtesy call to ensure that all is well, care and support can then be purchased on an as needs basis for either care or domestic support.
The cottages are offered in either 1 or 2 bedroom format, many with extensive private gardens, all of which are offered with affordable service charges covering maintenance of essential systems, the emphasis being on maintaining independence.
