What do the children say?

Guitar is fun because I like learning

to play my favourite songs. I enjoy

playing guitar with my friends and

writing songs. Neil, 8

I like the violin because it is fun and

we get to learn nice songs. My teacher is very nice and she helps me

when I find things tricky. Alexandra, 7

It’s fun learning piano. It helps me

learn more in class. It will help me if

I want to play another instrument.

Natalie, 10

Learning drums is fun because it’s

active. I like the noise and because my teacher is a really good teacher

and he helps me. Alexander, 9

It’s really fun doing singing lessons. I

really like the performing aspect of

it, being up in front of people!

Agreements for Tuition

All students are expected to take the study of

their chosen instrument seriously through regular practice and attendance at lessons.

To see the learning journey take place, the

commitment should be at least two terms. Two weeks’ notice before the end of the

term is required to cease lessons. Without such notice, lessons will be deemed to be continuing and billed accordingly.

The school co-ordinates the program but all

financial dealings and scheduling of lessons are via the Instrumental Teacher (in communication with the classroom and Music/Drama teacher), who is to be paid on time according to invoicing.

Absence If a student is to be absent for school or

family events, is up to the parent/caregiver to contact the Instrumental Teacher well before this date.

If a student is ill then the instrumental teacher should be contacted no later than 8.15am on that lesson day. Preferred communication for absences is via a phone call or SMS. Instrumental teachers will endeavour to reschedule lessons but there is no obligation to make up or refund lesson fees if insufficient notification has been given.

A lesson cancelled by the Instrumental Teacher will always be rescheduled or credited.
