About this Booklet

This Enrolment Application Booklet has been designed to provide you with the information you will require prior to submitting an application to enrol into the CHC30113 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care after you have made enquiries and read the student handbook found at http://www.rowetraining.com.au/studying-us/student-handbook-enrolments-form-download Within this booklet you will find information relating to the course delivery and course fees, as well as instructions on how to submit your Enrolment Application. Information is also provided for those students who wish to apply for a Traineeship/Apprenticeship. Please make sure you read over all the information within this booklet carefully and return the completed and signed forms (at the back of this booklet) to the correct email address.

About the Course

Want to join a great profession? Like to keep active, sing, dance, paint and read stories? This is an entry level qualification, for those who want to be an "Educator" and support children in their learning and development. Sense of humour is a must!

This qualification covers workers who use organisation policies, procedures and individual children’s profiles to plan activities and provide care to children, facilitating their leisure and play and enabling them to achieve their developmental outcomes. Depending on the setting educators may work under direct supervision or autonomously.

Rowe Training & Consulting has packaged this qualification as follows:

There are 15 core and 3 elective units. You must complete all core and elective units successfully to achieve the qualification. Upon successful completion of all of the 18 units, you will receive your qualification.

To enroll in the Certificate III it is envisaged that all students will hold Year 10 level passes or equivalent, please enquire with your training supervisor on enrolment if you have not passed Year 10 as you may require learner support.

Students will receive their cluster assessments through our online Learning Management System (LMS)

once the Expression of Interest has been approved.

Course Fees The CHC30113 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care is charged at a ‘per unit’ cost. As

this course is delivered in clusters. Each cluster has a different price depending on how many units of

competence are within each cluster.

For 2014, there is a non-refundable administration fee of $220.00. Students who are not on a

traineeship will be charged $185.00 per unit for the Certificate III qualification.

Traineeships and Apprenticeships What is a Traineeship/Apprenticeship?

A Traineeship or Apprenticeship is a study pathway whereby a student will receive a formal off-the-job

training, as well as on-the-job training and work experience while paid in employment. Students studying

under a Traineeship/Apprenticeship have their course fees fully funded. Course fees do not include the

annual administration fee or textbooks.

Who is eligible to study via a Traineeship/Apprenticeship? The Northern Territory has specific eligibility criteria to become a Trainee/Apprentice. Before you apply

to become a Trainee/Apprentice, you must meet the following basic eligibility requirements:

• You are a full-time or part-time employee (not a casual employee)

• You are an Australian Citizen, Australian Permanent Resident, or you meet other visa requirements to

study under a Traineeship/Apprenticeship

How do I apply to be a Trainee/Apprentice?

If you wish to apply to become a Trainee/Apprentice to study the CHC30113 Certificate III in Early

Childhood Education and Care please talk with your employer and the Australian Apprenticeships

Centre NT.

Please note that an application to study via a Traineeship/Apprenticeship does not automatically

guarantee acceptance. You will be notified by Administration of the outcome of your application to

become a Trainee/Apprentice during the application assessment period based on the eligibility

requirements and information provided.

Credit Transfers If a student has done previous study within the same or equivalent qualification they are applying to

study, they may be entitled to a Credit transfer. Credit Transfers only apply to students that have been

deemed competent for a unit of competency within the same or equivalent qualification.

In order for a credit Transfer to be granted, the student is required to supply a JP certified copy of their

academic transcript for the units of competency they believe they can be granted a credit transfer.

Students are asked to identify on the Expression of Interest Form whether they wish to apply for Credit

Transfers.

Please note that an application for Credit Transfers does not automatically guarantee acceptance. You will be

notified by Student Services on the outcome of your application during the application assessment period based on

the documentation you provide.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is the acknowledgement of a person’s skills and knowledge

acquired through previous training, work or life experiences, which may be used to grant status in a

subject. For students that wish to apply for RPL for all or part of their course, please indicate on the

Expression of Interest form and inform the trainer.

Please note that an application for RPL does not automatically guarantee acceptance. You will be

notified by Administration on the outcome of your application during the application process based on

the documentation you provide.

Aptitude Quiz For every new enrolment that a student completes, the student must also complete an Aptitude Quiz

which covers Language, Literacy, and Numeracy. This quiz is vital to ensure each student has an

appropriate level of proficiency in Language, Literacy and Numeracy in order to complete the course.

The Aptitude Quiz must be completed under supervision either at work supervised by your Director or

Group Leader or alternatively with one of our trainers.

assistance to the student. It also allows for the application of additional assistance for Trainers.

All the relevant documentation required is located on the following pages. Please make sure you read

each form carefully and understand the content before submitting your application. Answer all questions

truthfully and to the best of your knowledge.

Failure to submit the correct information, purposely submitting false or misleading information, or failure

to submit the relevant application forms, may result in delays in application processing, or non-

acceptance of enrolment.

Rights and Obligations

Student Agreement

The following terms and conditions constitute the agreement between you (the undersigned) and P & D Rowe Pty Ltd, trading as

Rowe Training & Consulting (“RTC”) for the provision of your course (“Agreement”)

Accepting this Agreement

1. You will have accepted this Agreement by signing at the end of this form.

2. The date you sign this Agreement is the Agreement date

3. A copy of this Agreement is provided to you in your Confirmation of Enrolment

Your Obligations

4. By accepting this Agreement, you:

a. have read and agree to comply with the RTC Student Policies and Procedures and Student Information Handbook as published on the RTC website (see http://www.rowetraining.com.au/studying-us/policies-and-downloads); and

b. confirm that you fulfil all entry requirements and have the required equipment, as specified on the RTC website, for the course in which you are enrolling; and

c. confirm that all information provided to RTC at the time of enrolment was accurate and complete, including anything that may impact on your ability to complete the course (such as a disability); and

d. Agree to pay all requisite fees associated with your course plus GST, if applicable (“Course Fee”); and

e. Acknowledge and accept the Schedule of Administrative Fees as published on the RTC website (see http://www.rowetraining.com.au/studying-us/policies-and-downloads).

5. You acknowledge and aware that:

a. depending on your particular course, you may need to provide your own equipment or undertake other studies or certifications in addition to the course materials at your own expense (as advised on the RTC website); and

b. additional or supplementary learning materials may only be available through the online learning system (“Moodle”); and

c. you will require access to a computer, in accordance with the specifications listed as “Computer Requirements” on the RTC website and internet access for the duration of the course; and

d. you may be required to acquire additional computing equipment or software as reasonably required for the course or RTC, from time to time.

6. You acknowledge that the Course Fee does not include:

a. Postage of any assessments or other materials by you to RTC; or

b. Any materials that are listed as “Computer Requirements” or “Additional Requirements” for your course on the RTC website; or

c. Travel or other personal costs (such as uniforms) associated with undertaking a work placement or workplace assessments.

7. It is your responsibility to inform RTC in writing within seven (7) days of any corrections or changes to your personal

details, including name, residential or postal address, email address, phone numbers, payment options and banking

details.

8. It is your responsibility to retain a copy of all assessments submitted to RTC for the duration of your course.

9. You must maintain a current email address for the duration of your course and you acknowledge that RTC will officially

communicate with you via email and through Moodle.

10. Legislation and regulations which will affect my studies and/or employment within Early Childhood Profession and within

the Training Area such as Traineeships/Apprenticeships as found on http://www.nt.gov.au and

http://www.australianapprenticeshipsnt.com.au/

Rowe Training & Consulting’s Obligations

11. Under this Agreement, RTC agrees to:

a. supply you with course materials for the first study period of your course;

b. provide you with access to Moodle;

c. provide you with access to learning and administrative support; and

d. grade your assessments;

12. RTC will provide you with course materials, assessments and support for subsequent study periods of your course as you:

a. Successfully complete a prior study period; and

b. Pay all requisite Course Fees

Until the completion or expiry of your course.

13. RTC will provide feedback and grades for your assessments through Moodle. In accordance with the regulations

governing RTC, assessments submitted by mail to RTC will not be returned to you.

14. On successful completion of all assessments and the full payment of the Course Fee, Rowe Training & Consulting will

issue you appropriate certification for your course.

15. RTC may make changes to your course (including units, learning materials and assessments) and the RTC Student

Policies and Procedures as reasonably required from time to time. RTC may also make reasonable changes to the

Schedule of Administrative Fees.

Work Place Assessments

16. If your course contains a mandatory workplace assessment:

a. It is your responsibility to find an appropriate workplace to undertake the workplace assessment component of your course;

b. RTC will assess the suitability of any such workplace you have identified;

c. You may be required to undertake workplace assessments at more than one workplace, depending on the nature of the workplace and the assessment requirements;

d. You may be required to travel to an appropriate workplace if you are unable to locate an appropriate workplace within your local area;

e. RTC may assess your workplace assessments in a range of ways, which may include: completion of a logbook; telephone interviews with you and your supervisor; and completion of a workplace assessment portfolio.

f. In some cases, RTC will undertake workplace assessments at your identified and approved workplace. In such cases, RTC must be notified in writing fourteen (14) days in advance if you are unable to attend your workplace on the agreed date of assessment. Failure to attend or cancellation within 14 days may result in an administrative fee as outlined in the Schedule of Administrative Fees; and

g. You must complete all mandatory workplace assessments within the maximum duration of your course.

Paying Your Course Fees

17. If you are paying your Course Fee by instalments, you must:

a. Complete a Credit Card Authorisation; or

b. Complete a Direct Debit Request Service Agreement; and

c. Pay all such instalments on or before the due date.

18. If you fail to pay any instalment by the due date, the total outstanding balance of the Course Fee will become immediately

due and payable and you may also be required to pay any applicable administrative fees outlined in the Schedule of

Administrative Fees.

19. If you fail to pay any part of the Course Fee by the due date, RTC reserves the right to:

a. withhold provision of course materials;

b. restrict access to Moodle;

c. withhold grading of assessments; and

d. notify relevant credit agencies of your default.

Course Duration and Extensions

20. The maximum duration of your course is specified on the RTC website. In the event that you do not complete the course

within the maximum duration, your enrolment expires without refund.

21. If you wish to extend your Course beyond the course expiry date, you must;

a. Have paid all Course Fees; and

b. Submit a Course Extension Request Form to RTC prior to the expiry date; and

c. Pay an additional fee as outlined in the Schedule of Administrative Fees.

22. A maximum of up to six (6) months may be granted. Please note extensions are subject to availability and RTC reserves

the right to refuse an extension at its absolute discretion.

Cancellation and Refunds

23. If you wish to terminate your studies before the completion of your course, you must notify RTC in writing (“Cancellation

Request”). Please refer to the Refund Policy on http://www.rowetraining.com.au/studying-us/policies-and-downloads

24. If you fail to notify RTC of your Cancellation Request within the Refund Period, you will be liable to pay the Course Fee to

RTC in full.

Course Deferral

25. If you suffer from a medical condition that directly impacts on your ability to undertake your studies, you may complete a

Course Deferral Request Form. Your enrolment may be suspended for a period of no more than three months, thereby

extending the maximum duration of your course

26. No refund of Course Fees will apply to a course deferral and you will still be liable for all payments due under this

Agreement.

Other terms

27. The course material that RTC provides to you shall become your property. However, the content of the course materials,

including copyright and all other such intellectual property rights contained therein, remain the property of RTC or a

nominated third party. You may not reproduce any part of the course materials or assessments without the prior written

consent of RTC.

28. If you are under 18 years of age, your parent or guardian must sign this Agreement and sign the Parent or Guardian

Declaration on the Enrolment Form. Under this Agreement, the parent or guardian is responsible for payment of the

Course Fee.

29. This agreement is governed by the laws of Northern Territory.

30. By accepting this Agreement:

a. You are warranting that you are not legally bankrupt; and

b. You are giving your consent to RTC undertaking a credit check on you

Application Checklist CHC30113 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care

Please use this Application Checklist to make sure you have completed the relevant documentation

required to process your application.

☐ Rights and Obligations Form Signed

If you have completed all the relevant documentation required above and you are ready to submit your

application, please follow the instructions below.

Submission via email

1. Scan all printed and signed copies and save a copy to your computer. In the filename, state your

name and the course code followed by ‘Application’ e.g. Jane Doe_CHC30113_EF

2. Open a new email and address your submission to [email protected]

3. In subject line type CHC30113 Enrolment Application

4. In the body, state that you wish to apply for enrolment into CHC30113 Certificate III in Early Childhood

Education and Care

5. Attach the saved copy of the scanned documentation

6. Double check that you have entered the correct email address and that you have attached all the

documents correctly.

7. Click ‘send’ to send the email.

You have now completed Step 1 of the first part of the enrolment process. You will be contacted via

email regarding the second step.

Acceptance of enrolment will be confirmed once all steps have been successfully met.
