MY DAIRY CONCEPT—An Introduction
The purpose of MY DAIRY CONCEPT is to offer a quick but accurate portrayal of your dairy in its various dimensions. While you are only creating 8 substantive slides, this presentation will help you frame the key business challenges & needs of your dairy business. In addition, the effort and thought that you put into creating MY DAIRY CONCEPT will help you compose a more focused business plan in less time. Finally, this format allows you flexibility in creating a meaningful, substantive description of your dairy business to help you communicate at an early stage with a banker, advisory team or other stakeholders in your business. Each slide offers a few tips to help you create an effective presentation.
TIPS:
Include a farm photo as a second slide.
In a one minute introduction, state your name, position on the farm and your specific dairy activities.
Do not fall into the trap on giving a detailed biographical description of yourself or long history of the farm.
Ask the listener the time limit for your presentation. Do not exceed this limit, even if you have to condense your presentation. It is generally preferable to make a follow up appointment to meet if your presentation can not be completed within the stated time limits.
Practice the presentation prior to your actual meeting. Friends, family or your advisors can provide valuable feedback about the effectiveness of your presentation.
