Of all respondents, only 10% characterize their company's digital transformation as "stalled." The rest are involved, to
varying degrees, in the process of digital transformation.
Stalled: We are not currently making changes.
Isolated: Pockets of experimentation are happening in a few business areas.
Widespread: Multiple experiments are coordinated by change agents with executive support.
Strategic: We plan digital transformation ownership, effort, and investment in multiple business areas.
Continuous: Our dedicated digital transformation team is funded to drive consistent, continuous digital innovation across the

The two most cited development projects involve internal processes and operations support (reported by 62%) and
analytics/BI/big data projects (52%). Replacing legacy systems and building external apps are listed by 43%,
AI/machine learning is important for 38%, and IoT is on the roadmap for 14% of respondents.
