The technique of entrelac knitting produces a beautiful faux woven effect as each row of squares is
knitted at right angles to the previous row. The effect is actually even more obvious if your finished piece
is not blocked, so it's perfect for those who can't wait to use their completed projects! There is also no
need to first do a tension square for this project. As long as your knitting tension is consistent then the
pattern will work!
The blanket pictured measures 120 x 84 cm and required 6 x 100g balls of acrylic DK weight yarn, 3 in
each colour, knitted on 4mm needles. These instructions can be adapted to create any size of blanket
simply by adjusting the number of stitches per square, the number of squares per row and the number of
rows. The blanket pictured has 10 stitches per square, 16 squares per row and is 25 rows long.
To create the two colour 'weave' as in this blanket, simply alternate colours between odd and even rows.
For example my odd rows were green and my even rows were off-white.
This pattern is intermediate level, due to the increase, decrease and picking up of stitches, however I think
a confident beginner who was looking for a challenge should be able to follow the pattern.

The * section will create your first triangle. When you reach the end of the section (k9) you will then
leave this first triangle on your working needle and move onto creating the second from the stitches of the
cast on row. Do not turn your work between the k9 and next k2 or you will turn back and create a square
from your first triangle!
Row 2 (and all subsequent even rows)
Note: In this row each time you p2t you will be decreasing one stitch from the row 1 triangles.

beginning and end). ⁺Turn, k10, turn, s1p, p8, p2t⁺.
Repeat ⁺ section 10 times.*
Repeat * section to last 10 stitches.
