ENTREPRENEURIAL MISSION TO THE ASIAN DEVELOPMENT BANK – ADB

Through the Mechanism of the Multilateral Financial Market, created by the Agreement signed between aicep Portugal Global – Trade & Investment Agency and GPEARI (Ministry of Finance), which aims to stimulate and promote the participation of the Portuguese companies in these markets, will be held from 19th to 22nd of March, in Manila, an Entrepreneurial Mission to the Asian Development Bank (ADB) intended for companies of the Consulting, Energy and infrastructures sectors.

This event intends to give companies the possibility to get deeply acquainted with the Asian Development Bank, its activities, the existing business opportunities and also to meet with specialists in the areas of interest previously identifi ed, as well as to inform the ADB national expertise in the targeted sectors.

This Mission also has a focal point on getting companies who are in the process of internationalisation and which already have presence in these markets.

The Office for Economic Policy and International Affairs (GPEARI) is a government department whose mission is to support the design, the enforcement and the assessment of policies and planning instruments of the Ministry of Finance, taking into account the financial program and all other departments of the Ministry, and ensuring, directly or under its coordination, the international affairs.

Our main services and products are:

• Economic and financial studies and other technical documents aimed at supporting the definition, monitoring and assessment of policies;

• Coordination of the editing and technical inputs for official documents, such as the Report on the Orientation of the Budget Policy, the Stability and Growth Pact, the “Grandes Opções do Plano”, the Budget Strategy Document and the Report on the Proposal of the State Budget Law;

• On-line distribution of publications and information about the current main topics of the Portuguese eco-nomy, economics statistics, job and procurement opportunities throughout international institutions and a international affairs newsletter;

• Preparation of meetings, committees and working groups of several national and international organizations and financial institutions;

• Financing and coordination of the Technical Assistance Programs for the Portuguese Speaking African Countries;

• Promotion of initiatives aimed at boosting the internationalization of the Portuguese economy;

• Technical support on the implementation of the departments performance evaluation system by all the departments of the Ministry of Finance;

• Coordination of the implementation of the gender equality policy in the Ministry of Finance.

AdP Internacional

Water supply, wastewater treatment and solid waste treatment and recovery

The mission of Águas de Portugal Internacional is to conduct the management of the AdP group’s business outside Portugal, ensuring the management of shareholdings in companies and other group businesses in an economically sustainable manner. It also seeks to act as a showcase of the group’s capacities and skills at an international level, leveraging the internationalisation of group operations and promoting partnerships with other Portuguese players in the sector.

Over the past years, through partnerships with companies and local entities that help to dimension interventions and obtain financing, has developed various projects in countries such as Angola, Algeria, Brazil, Cape Verde, Morocco, Mozambique, São Tomé and Príncipe and East Timor, both in terms of the manner of supplying technical assistance services and managing concessions of water and waste services.

AdPI has also taken on a leading role in terms of cooperation, working towards attaining the Millennium Development Goals for water and sanitation, contributing to an increase in the number of people with access to potable water and appropriate treatment of wastewater.

AdP Group is currently present in Angola, where it has established a branch in 2010 and in several other countries through a number of service and technical assistance contracts.

EDP Internacional S.A.

Energy (Electricity)

EDP INTERNACIONAL S.A. is a fully owned company of EDP Group (EDP) that searches for business in geographies where EDP is still not in operation (the Group is already present in 11 countries).

Ensulmeci is setting the standards engineering and energy; it undertakes engineering, procurement, construction and maintenance projects.

It operates in several markets stated in the sector of interest item.

Ensulmeci has extended its activity into other countries and now has subsidiaries in France, Spain, Timor, Ireland and Angola. It is certifi ed for its environmental management system (ISO 14001), health and safety at work system (OHSAS 18001), and it is the fi rst in its sphere of business to be certifi ed for its quality management system under 9001.

Actually the group have more than 1.000 workers around the world and its turnover more than 150.000.000 a year.

Engineering, Procurement, Construction (EPC) and Operation & Maintenance (O&M) of Solar Park Projects

Listed at (EURONEXT LISBON) since June 2007, Martifer (MAR PL; MAR.LS) is an industrial group with more than 3,000 workers, present in over 20 countries. In 2010 its operating revenue reached 602.1 million euros.

Martifer Solar is the division within the group responsible to offer 360° turnkey photovoltaic solutions, undertaking integrated PV solar projects, including development, fi nancial advice, engineering service, modules, production of solar trackers and carports, construction, operation and maintenance, and distribution of modules and equipment.
