1. Introduction
The National Science & Technology Entrepreneurship Development Board (NSTEDB), Department of Science &
Technology, Govt. of India initiated a scheme to establish Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC) in academic
institutions to develop institutional mechanism for the purpose of inculcating the entrepreneurial culture and fostering
technoentrepreneurship among Science & Technology persons. Laxmi Institute of Technolgy, Sarigam has also
committed to impart quality education in engineering & technology and preparing the engineering students to meet the
growing challenges of the industry by nurturing entrepreneurship. In order to meet the challenges of industry & social
need of our nation, LIT has been motivating the students’ community towards entrepreneurship by conducting
awareness programmes.
2. Purpose
On that basis, a full-fledged BCC was established in Laxmi Institute of Technolgy in July 2017 under the aegis of
Centre for Entrepreneurship Development (CED), Govt. of Gujarat. The main objective of this program is to make the
aspiring engineers acquainted with the conceptual as well as practical knowledge in tune with Industrial requirement
& latest technologies
The program was focused on
To create awareness on Entrepreneurships among young students
To facilitate the development of Entrepreneurial Skills among young students of Science & Technology
To inculcate Entrepreneurial Spirit and Culture among young students
To kindle the sparks of young students & budding entrepreneurs
To establish a modern category of Sustainable Technology – Competent Entrepreneurs
To be an interface in building network among various institutions of learning & research and various
industries
To provide complete technical and other services to small g entrepreneurs
3. Program Outline:
Laxmi Institute of Technology organized a 15 days workshop for final year students on Entrepreneurship. The
program initially started by interviewing the students who wanted to take up the 15 day workshop. In view with this,
the interview was arranged on 21st February 2019. Total of 50 students from different streams of engineering enrolled
for interview process.

delivered session on activities conducted by CED in field of

Nambiar
I Mr. Sajanan Nambiar, CEO, Pearl coating Pvt Ltd dealt with the
topic “Experiences sharing of successful Entrepreneur”.
In his session he shared his experiences of how he entered into
industrial field being a civil Engineer. He urged the students to
pen down the day end work before going to bed. oing beyond just
the emotional and vulnerable aspect of penning down one's
thought- the trials and tribulations, the strengths and weaknesses,
there is a tactical victory in letting words speak volumes.
He also added on reflection is the hallmark of a true entrepreneur,
who knows when to pause and think of what he/she has achieved
and how can it help you reach the ultimate goal.
In the concluding session, he told it is important for entrepreneurs
to share experiences and insights, to create an engaging
atmosphere for both consumers and the organization to grow and
thrive. He told as we progress towards a world of seamless
connectivity, it is a stellar idea to give consumers and compatriots
a glimpse of your acumen, and why you mean business, to set the
tone straight.

II Mr. Limesh Parekh, CEO, Enjay IT solutions dealt with “Market
Management” in his session II.
He explained the definition of marketing management, which is
the process of developing strategies and planning for product or
services, advertising, promotions, sales to reach desired customer
segment. He explained the five Marketing concepts.

III In Session III, the purpose of market research was explained. It is
to gather data on customers and potential customers. The

collected data aids business decision making. This therefore
reduces the risks involved in making these decisions.
He explained techniques related to market survey such as,
(1) secondary research, (2) surveys, (3) focus groups, (4)
interviews, (5) observation, or (6) experiments/field trials.
He also explained how to conduct successful marker research.

5 23/3/2019 Praseed Pillai I Mr. Praseed Pillai, Bank Manager – Axis bank explained the
different schemes related to banking.
He explained in detail with MUNDRA loan. The key points were
Pradhan Mantri MUDRA Yojana (PMMY)
Under the aegis of Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana (PMMY),
MUDRA has created products / schemes. The interventions have
been named 'Shishu', 'Kishor' and 'Tarun' to signify the stage of

unit / entrepreneur and also provide a reference point for the next

I & II Session I & II was handled by Ms. Seema Manojkumar
Makhania. In her session she briefed about motivation,
motivation accelerators, passion, dreams etc. Small activity was
given to the students for knowing the attitude in self thinking. The
session concluded with the self appraisal of the self and the ways
was explained to improve them.
9 28/3/2019 Bhavesh Tated I & II Session I & II was handled by Mr. Bhavesh Tated. In is session
he covered the topics on fixed and working taught capital. Also
the students were taught about how to make project report for the
business.
10 29/3/2019 Ronak Jhadav I & II In this session he spoke on “Challenges in Business &
management”.

I & II Session I & II was handled by Ms. Archana kulkarni, Bank of
baroda, surat. During her session she imparted knowledge on
Microfab and its solution. The session was explained through
motivational videos and activities were given at the end of the
session.
Factory Visit III Session III included factory visit of the students to BIC Cello,
Vapi.
12 31/3/2019 Sanjay Desai I Mr. Sanjay Desai delivered the session on “business
Communications”.
He explained the four basic types of communications:
Interpersonal communication,
Nonverbal communication,
Written communication,
Oral communication.
Apart from this he also touched upon
Internal, Upward Communication.
This type of business communication is anything that
comes from a subordinate to a manager
Internal, Downward Communication.
This is any type of communication that comes from a
superior to one or more subordinates.

Lateral communication is the talking, messaging and

4. Feedback
Feedback all the dignitaries, invited guests and the participants were very happy about the conduction of the
function. They mentioned that LIT has again taken a lead in conducting such a program. Some of the important
things which came out as the outcome points of the programme are as follows:
EDC was informative and was an ice breaking event
Students requested to conduct such a program more frequently.
5. Conclusion
We would like to thank all our participants including students, Faculties, HOD’s, and academicians to make this
event a huge success. Especially we would thank Gajera trust for bringing this innovative idea of conducting such
a program which gives the students the platform to showcase their innovation, creativity, talent and job.
