There is several structure of the business that is adopted by the organisations in order to control

the organisational practices. King Food Court has adopted partnership form of business. This

kinds of partnership forms which includes limited partnership and general partnership. According

to the legal form of general partnership, all the partners are liable for the business liabilities. As

this is a straight forward form, hence, it is easy enough to build. In the context of the new venture,

general partnership is most suitable option as this reduces the liabilities and risks as well as the

pressure for organisational capital. Partnership business also offers profits to the partners. Partners

also required to perform the role of management in the context of the organisational perform. On

such authority in order to participate in the management.

operations. This imitates the liabilities and reduces the possibility of risks of a new venture. This

organization regarding business capital. Another benefit offered by this legal form to the business

practice is the flexibility of the system. This allows increasing the number of partners according

December 2017. Partners of the organisation are intending to inaugurate the venture on 15th

of market competition, promotion in the restaurant market of Malaysia is an important factor. This

will facilitate the organization to reach towards the additional numbers of customers regarding the

r products and services. In the context of the long-term organisational objectives, promotion will

influence the customers to get attracted towards the products or services offered by the organisation

which will play a major part regarding the organisational growth and development.

Price

Price is probably the most important factor regarding the marketing strategy of the organisation.

This determines the organisational profit and interest of the customers. Determination of price of

the products or services offered by the organisation considers the purchasing power of the

customers. Along with that it also requires the consideration of the market trends and competitions

regarding the price of substitute products. As King Food Court is a new organisation is the

restaurant market of Malaysia, they are required to offer customer friendly prices of their products.

Pricing strategy of the organization is also required to consider positioning, list of products and

services, discounts, credit, variety and quality of the product. Customer friendly price of the

product will encourage the customers towards the organisation which could facilitate a new

organisation to develop their customer satisfaction which will be beneficial in the context of long-

term objectives of the organisation.

Place

Place is another important aspect in this context as this determines the operational strategies of the

organisation. This considers different trade channels in order to continue the organisational

Page 21: ENTREPRENEURSHIP: PRACTICE & PROCESS: A BUSINESS PLAN … · 2018. 5. 4. · business could face the biggest challenge regarding the taxation as this pout double tax on the partners.

21

performances. This considers the availability of the products and services to the customers. In

context of King Food Court, prime location of Dataran will facilitate the organization regarding

the accessibility and reaching of the people. This will allow them to attract additional customers

in order to develop the customer base. Place also put emphasis on the organisational strategies

regarding target market. Along with that efficient channels of distribution are also effective

regarding the marketing strategy. This put emphasis on the organisational strategies of distribution

which is considered as major factor for the long-term objectives of the organisation. It also suggests

the analysis of the food habits of the people regarding that particular location which has been

considered by the organisation for operating. People of different place have certain preferences

and culture regarding their food habits that should be considered by the organisation determining

organisational strategies.

People

Organisational performance is depended on the workforce in order to complete the operations.

This includes workforce regarding marketing activities, customer communication, training and

skill development, productions and sales activities. Along with that this aspect of the marketing

mix also considers the target group of customers. This evaluation allows the organisation to

determine the organisational strategies based on the requirement and preferences of the customers

of the particular market. In the context of restaurant market of Malaysia, people have certain

preference for foreign taste and sea foods which is required to be considered by King Food Court

to design organisational policies. Based on such strategies and requirements, the organisation

determines the policies about the required workforces. As King Food Court is intending to operate

as a new organisation, they are required to consider skilled workforce to manage the organisational

performances.

Process

Process considers the process of organisational practices as well as preparation of the products and

services offered to the customer. This suggests the healthy process of preparing foods regarding

the application of certain ingredients. This also suggests the analysis of the culture of target

customer group regarding production. Customer satisfaction is also depended upon the

organisational process to handle the customers. This is required to be considered for the

Page 22: ENTREPRENEURSHIP: PRACTICE & PROCESS: A BUSINESS PLAN … · 2018. 5. 4. · business could face the biggest challenge regarding the taxation as this pout double tax on the partners.

22

organisation in order to maintain the organizational performance. Service process and delivery

process is related with the customer satisfaction which is required to be considered as this influence

the customer base and market share of the organisation. Along with customer focus, King Food

Court is also required to consider design, features, business-led, IT -support and research and

development in this aspect.

Physical Evidence

This includes the packaging and presentation of the product or service offered to the organisation.

This creates an atmosphere for the customers where they could find it next to home. This suggests

the organisational approach towards the customer regarding the presentation and handling of the

customer. Physical evidence is one of the major factors for the organization regarding customer

satisfaction. In the context of King Food Court, physical evidence could attract the customers

towards the organization as this considers the attractive presentation. This also encourages the

customers towards the new organisation which could facilitate the organisation in order to develop

the customer base and improve the satisfaction level of the customers.

Sales strategy

Success of a business is highly depended on the sales strategy of the organisation. In the context

of King Food Court, adoption of sales strategy is depending upon the trends of the market and

customer behaviours. The organisation is required to consider the present market traditions and

customer preferences in order to determine the strategies. As suggested by Kajanus et al. (2012),

analysis of the organisational strength, weakness, threats and opportunity will facilitate the

organisation in this context.

Target Market

Target market and customer group is one of the important aspects regarding the organisational

strategies for sales. Market segmentation develops the strategy regarding the particular group of

customers whereas target area determines the consideration of culture of the people of certain

places. In order to determine the strategies it is important to consider that the segmentation ensures

the profit of the organisation. Such segments are required not to consider as stable as this will be

flexible regarding the change of time and preferences. Based on such analysis, King Food Court

Page 23: ENTREPRENEURSHIP: PRACTICE & PROCESS: A BUSINESS PLAN … · 2018. 5. 4. · business could face the biggest challenge regarding the taxation as this pout double tax on the partners.

23

could develop the sales strategy regarding market segmentation. In this context, they are required

to consider the preference of the people Malaysia for foreign taste, seafood and changing trends of

the customer behaviour. Dataran as a prime location will offer additional opportunity to the

organisation which could be considered while determining the organizational strategies for sales.

Pricing

Pricing is another important factor regarding the sales strategy of the organization. King Food

Court is required to consider the market trend regarding the determination of price of their products

and services. This will include the preferences of the customers, their purchasing power and market

competition. Level of competition in the restaurant market of Malaysia is too high and this leads

the organisations to determine the price of the product carefully. As King Food Court is a new

organisation in the market, attractive pricing strategy could help the organisation to develop the

customer base. People of Malaysia are sensitive about the price of the product and this will force

the organisation to determine their price considering the behaviour of the customer. On the other

hand, this will offer a certain opportunity for the organisation.

28

29

Skills and experience of the staffs are important factor regarding the organisational success. This

also depends on the training and development provided by the organisation.

Another important factor regarding the success of the organisation is the selection of place for the

venture. King Food Court has selected Dataran as the location of the venture which is a prime

location. Such locations influence the organisational performance and sales. In the context of the

organisational success of King Food Court, expansion of the business in different prime location

across the country will be responsible for the success of the organisation.

Availability of the products or services offered to the customers is a major factor regarding the

success of the venture. Organisational approach towards marketing and involvement in the

community also plays a vital role regarding the organizational customer base and reputation that

also ensures the success of the venture in the context of long-term operations.

term operation of the organisation, loyal employees with skills and experience make it valuable

for the organisation and retention of those employees helps the organisation regarding the

Restaurant industry is related with certain risks. As King Food Court is intending to start a new

restaurant, it is subjected with certain challenges band potential adverse. In order to manage the

organisational operations, it is required to identify those risks and adopt certain strategies in this

context. In the context of the restaurant industry, lack of skilled employees is a major challenge.

30

Court is also aiming to offer Italian foods and seafood. This requires a range of resources and the

success of the organisation is depended on the availability and management of those resources.

Court. The organisation is a new one in the market and this is subjected with certain challenges

considering the recognition of the brand. It is a new brand and this could be failed because of lack

of promotional activities. High level of competition in the market also increases the level of risks

for the organisation. Along with that lack of customer base is another challenge for the

organization. In order to earn sustainability the organisation is required to develop the customers

base but as a new organisation in the fiercely competitive market King Food Court will face

adverse regarding this issue. Along with those challenges and adverse, King Food Court will face

another one regarding the lack of practical experience the context of market behaviour. The

organisation is required to analyse the market factors in order to determine the organisational

behaviour and strategies. This will allow them to determine the strategies regarding the lack of

experience also. This will create challenges to determine the marketing strategies, sales strategies

and organizational objectives. As the organisation is new in the Malaysian restaurant market, they

In this context, application of Dow Theory is helpful to determine the market trends which could

facilitate King Food Court to determine its menus and list of offerings. As opined by Dobbs (2014),

purchasing power of the customers regarding the operating market. This will also facilitate the

organisation regarding supplier’s power and threat from the substitution. Application of this theory

Page 31: ENTREPRENEURSHIP: PRACTICE & PROCESS: A BUSINESS PLAN … · 2018. 5. 4. · business could face the biggest challenge regarding the taxation as this pout double tax on the partners.

weaknesses. As a new organisation in the market, King Food Court could also receive certain

advantages through such analysis regarding opportunities and threats for the organisation.

organisation. As suggested by Lee et al. (2012), proper training and development to the employees

will assist the organisation to develop the efficiency of the workforce to meet the customer

requirement in order to develop the customer base as well as customer satisfaction. In order to

meet the organisational objectives to increase the sales, it is important for the organisation to

provide quality product and services considering the customer satisfaction. The organisation could

adopt certain strategies in order to improve the organisational sales. Involvement in different

community and social programs will help the organisation to reach at additional numbers of

customers. As commented by Hanaysha (2016), online marketing and promotion will be useful for

the organization in this context. Consistency regarding the product quality and services has

significant values regarding the customer satisfaction and development of customer base. Hence,

the organisation is required to retain the experienced employees. Along with that, development of

the organisational atmosphere regarding the working environment is an important factor which is

required to be considered by the organisation to retain the employees and maintain the consistency

of services offered to the customers. These will facilitate the organisation to meet the long-term

Evaluation metrics

Evaluation of the plan is important to determine its success. An evaluation is also important to

identify the efficiency and effectiveness of the plan which has been designed considering the

venture. Business plan for King Food Court has been developed in order to determine the road

map for the organisation to ensure the profitability of the venture. As stated by (Marr 2012),

application of Key Performance Indicator (KPI) is helpful for the organisation to evaluate the

efficiency of the plan. Initial step of this evaluation process is to examine the financial health

suggested by the developed plan. This evaluation process considers more than the revenue

generated in the venture. It also evaluated the cost generated in the venture along with the profits.

According to Mintz and Currim (2013), this also considers the margin of profit to figure out the

ratio of profit generation based upon the invested costs. It also helps to evaluate the expenses as

this considers entire expenses as in two sub-categories including direct expenses and overhead

expenses. It also evaluates the organisational growth through the venture. It considers the margin

of profit regarding the firm’s performance. KPI for the growth of the business also considers the

change in the number of revenue generation along with the cash flow. Two more indicators to

evaluate the growth of the organization are retention rate and growth rate. These indicators assist

the organisation to evaluate the organisational performance and the efficiency of the developed

plan. Growth rate also evaluate the trends and revenue and profit generation of the business

considering one particular clients and this suggests the analysis of the efficiency of the plan

developed for the organisation. Other factors and indicators are also average revenue per client.

Performance indicators also evaluate the plan considering the organisational objectives as well as

management and benchmarking. This evaluation process will assist the organisation to identify its

risks and problems which are not manageable. Based on the evaluation of the entire process to

consider the financial health of the organisation, strategic goals can be developed. These

performance indicators also developed the strategic goals by evaluating statistics and growth of

the suggested by the developed plan. Prime performance indicators for the organisation regarding

the evaluation of the business plan are firm metrics, growth metrics and client metrics. Firm

metrics includes gross revenue, overhead expenses, direct expenses, net margin of profit and gross

margin of profit. Growth metrics include new percentage of revenue generated from new clients

as well as existing clients, recurring revenue percentage, rate of client retention and revenue

retention. Client metrics include average revenue per client, distribution of revenue per client,

client revenue for each hour and organisational profit for each client. Application of such matrices

helps the organization to evaluate the plan and determine the strategic goals. It also assists the

organization to identify the efficiency of the developed plan. It considers the development of the

plan and the financial health of the firm including the generation of revenue and organizational

profit.
