    Tis chapter introduces new eatures and lists the improvements and enhancements ound in this release o SketchBook Mobile.

    For users of the SketchBook from the Samsung Store with Galaxy Notes

    Another way to sketch is to use the Samsung S Pen.SketchBook supports its pressure-sensitivity. S Pen with an erase is also compatible with SketchBook.In S Pen Mode, you can only sketch with S Pen.Tis is to prevent your ngers rom leaving accidental strokes. You can still use your ngersto open the menu, pick di erent brushes, or domulti-touch gestures.ap Change Settings to turn o Pen Mode.

    Use the new Copic marker, oundin the Brush Editor and use the

    new Copic Color Library .

    Welcome to Autodesk SketchBook Mobile on Samsung. Enjoy the same SketchBook desktop experience on your Android device with a pro essional-grade stroke engine, and produce stunning quality results.

    What is a marking menu?It is a hidden menu containing tools. o access it:

    What is a gesture?

    ap , then tap a brush or tool.

    It is a shortcut motion that uses one or two ngers to access a tool,change image orientation, zoom in, and more.

    Here is a list o gestures used inSketchBook Mobile :

    Undo Double-tap the bottom le t corner.Redo Double-tap the bottom right corner.Clear layer Double-tap the top le t corner.Fit to view Double-tap the top right corner.Zoom Pinch the screen to zoom into the canvas.     Another way to sketch is to use the Samsung S Pen. SketchBook supports its

    What is sim lated p ess e sensiti it ?

    It is a property that makes lines get thinner and more transparent at the beginning and end o strokes.

    Fast Stroke

    Slow Stroke

    For example,the stroke o a de ault pencil ades at the tip. Te speed o your strokea ects how long the ading portion is.

    In the Brush Editor , the Min and Max values orSize and Opacity drive this.

    Tere ore, i Min is 2 pixels andMax is 8, the synthetic pressure will apply thisrange to the ends o strokes, based on the speed/intensity o your strokes, creating what we call simulated pressure sensitivity.

    Set the cursor to appear a short distance away rom your nger to easily see where a stroke will appear.

    Changing your view

    Z ming in and t

    Pinch the screen to scale down the size o the canvas.

    Expand the pinch to scale up the size o the canvas. As you near the size o the screen size, your sketch will snap to t it.

    Fitting t iewo t your sketch to the size o the screen, tap the top right corner or zoom to almost screen size to snap your sketch

    Colors

    Using the Color EditorTe Color Editor contains swatches o color chips.ap , , then to create custom colors.

    Using the Color Picker

    Once this option is turned on in your pre erences, do the ollowing:

    1. ap-hold to get .

    2. Move over a color.

    4. Continue sketching.

    Adding a color swatch

    ap-drag the color band anywhere within the color swatches to add a colorswatch o that color.

    Keep in mind, at present, this overwrites the previous swatch in that location.

    Adding custom swatches

    How does Fill work?

    Te Fill tool is ound in the Brush Editor and marking menu .

    Te Fill tool foods a closed area with paint.

    I a layer has enclosed areas (the area is surrounded by pixels o a di erent color), and you tap inside one o them, only that regionis fooded with paint.

    I you tap outside an enclosed area, paint foods the outer area.Fill only foods the entire layer with paint i the layer is empty.Tere ore, though you may see regions created on other layers, i you are on an empty layer, paint will completely food the empty layer and ignore any pixels on other layers.

    Brushes

    Using the Brush Editor

    Te Brush Editor contains a brush palette with a combination o preset brushes.

    1. ap , then in the toolbar to access the editor.

    2. ap a brush to select it.

    ip Double-tap a brush to return to your sketch.

    3. ap to fip to a page with sliders and buttons or changing theproperties o the selected brush. Any changes made to the settings are stored with the brush.

    4. ap a button to change the tip used.

    5. ap-drag a slider to change values.

    6. ap to fip the page back to the Brush Palette .

    Layers

    Using layersUse layers to combine images, control the editing process, and show/hide image components.Te maximum number o layers available is 6.

    ap and select an option to add or duplicate a layer,import a photo, or import a camera image.

    Note When grey , youve reached the maximumnumber o layers.

    o change layer transparency, tap the layer, then tap-drag the Opacity slider.

    o change layers, tap the layer you want to work on. o rearrange layers, tap-drag, moving the layer.

    What are blend modes?

    Blend modes are ound in the Layer Editor .

    Te ollowing modes determine how the top layer and one below are combined:

    Normal doesntcombine the layers.

    Multiply creates a combination thatsdarker than eitherlayer.

    Add creates a combination o thetop layers hues andbottoms content.

    Screen creates a combination thatslighter than eitherlayer.

    Blending layersUse Normal , Multiply , Add , and Screen to blend a layer withthe one below it.

    Transforming layersMove, rotate, and scale layers by selecting a tool and tap-dragging.

    Saving, Sharing, and Exporting

    Saving stores a sketch in theGallery and preserves its layers.
