MOUNTINGCOMPONENTS BARREL MOUNTINGComponents are fixed to the aluminium barrel by the central binary. All components, particularly the optics, could be moved vertically along the binary. The antiopening tamper protection it’s realized on the barrier’sclosing taps. (Fig. 3-4-5)

The antiopening tamper connector of the high side haveto be insert to the closer optic’s socket (Fig. 1) while theantiopening tamper connector of the bottom side have tobe insert to the board’s socket. (Fig. 7)

fig 3

For the antiopening and wall tamper kit fixing it’s necessary to apply the microswitches on to the desiredoptics and perforate the wall and the barrel in corrispondence of the microswitch tab. Fix the plug to the wall to let the screw hold the switch pressed when the barrier is applied to the wall. In this way any removing attemp will be notified from the switch open.

ALIGNMENT VIA SIGNALLING BUZZER (DIP 7 AND 8 ON)Deciding to align the barriers via the signalling buzzer, it’s necessary to keep attention to the type of toneemitted from the receiver to define the quality of the alignment of each beam: - NO SOUND: Unaligned beam - LED = Off - Low Tone Signalling: Beam Not Properly Aligned - LED = Slow Blink - High Tone Intermittent Signalling: Beam Close to Alignment - LED = Fast Blink - High Tone Signalling: Beam Aligned - LED = OnDuring this procedure, moving any single optic, the sound will change the modulation continually until beco-mes high to indicate the optic alignment.Note: Could happend, for distances over 80/100mt, that the sound will not be continue, this must be considered a normal situation.

ALIGNMeNT

ALIGNMENT PROCEDUREBarrier’s alignment consists in centering each receiving optic with the transmitters on the other side. Soany single optic will receive the signal from every transmitting optics. To access the alignment procedureit’s necessary to hold pressed for couple of seconds the button located in the barrier’s PCB, the systemwill activate the internal light of the first optic starting from the bottom, the PCB’s LED will blink fast. The receiver will start to emit the centering guide sound.

1- Move the receiver’s SENS trimmer to the minimum (-).2- Move the transmitter’s RANGE trimmer to the maximum (+).3- Center manually the RX first optic from the bottom, sound must be continue high tone.4- Press once the receiver’s PCB button to move to the next optic (2° from the bottom) and do the same.5- Continue centering procedure with steps 3 and 4 for all desired optics (Max 8).6- Finished the procedure on the RX, press the TX’s PCB button once to move to the 2nd TX optic.7- Pressing as necessary the RX’s PCB button move to the 1st RX optic from the bottom (LED On).8- Verify that the centering it’s still correct, continue high tone and LED on.9- If it’s not centered, allign RX’s optic and if it’s necessary also the TX’s optic.10- Once that the 1st optic is aligned, press the RX’s PCB button and move to the next optic repeating thesteps 8 and 9.11- Repeat all RX alignment procedure with the 2nd TX optic.12- Once all RX’s optics are aligned, move to the next TX’s optic and repeat centering operations.13- These operations have to be repeated for all TX and RX optics.14- Move back the buzzer signalling to the 1st RX’s optic and the 8th TX’s optic.15- Rotate RX’s SENS trimmer to the + (High Sensibility), adjust the RANGE trimmer to half level.16- Repeat centering procedure with these settings. In this case alignment will be harder, and the “beep”could be not continue. During this period try to achieve the maximum precision, this adjustment will ensure an higher protection against false alarms.

Once finished the centering operations, the buzzer have to give a continue high tone at any single RX/TXoptic, otherwise correct the optic’s centering of those that doesn’t give a continue high tone. At least fix theoptic’s screws to block the optic’s position. Verify again quickly that no optics has moved by pressing RX’sRESET button and moving from an optic to the other earing the continuos “beep”. Once finished quit from the alignment procedure by pressing for a while the RX and TX PCB’s button. Once quitted press once the RX’s PCB button to learn the number of receiving optics. This operation takes just few seconds and com-municates to the RX’s PCB the number ot connected optics. Alignment procedure is finished.

ALIGNMENT VIA TESTER (DIP 7 AND 8 OFF)Choosing to align the barriers by using a tester, it’s necessary to set it as Vdc (Continuous Current) witha maximum range of 2/5 Volts. Alignment consists in orienting optics to achieve the highest tension value(Maximum Reachable Value = 2Volts)

TUNINGSTRANSMITTER’S TUNINGTransmitter’s tuning consists in the amount of signal transmitted. This adjustment can by made by usingthe RANGE trimmer. In case of close installations (from 10mt to 30mt) it’s possible to maintain the RANGE setting to a low level (RANGE trimmer to 1/4th position). In case of direct exposure of the RX to sunlight, it’s possible to increase the transmitter’s range (trimmer setted to the middle). For distances of more than 50mt is suggested to set the trimmer in the middle position. Otherwise for distan-ces between 100mt and 150mt is suggested to set the trimmer level between 3/4th and the maximum (+).

RECEIVER’S TUNINGReceiver’s tunings are many, depending on security and installation needs. It’s possible to set-up the barrier by using the dip-switches and the 2 available trimmers.

dIP-SWITCHeSOFF ON

1 big Objects: Barrier will trigger only if at least two beams will be interrupted.

Small Objects1: Barrier will trigger if only one beam is interrupted.

2 Normal Sensibility: It works calculating theentire beam’s interruption. Note: SENS trimmer is disabled.

High Sensibility1: It increases the detection’s sen-sibility calculating also the crossed beams. The tu-ning can be made by operating on SENS trimmer.

3 Creep Zone deactivated: The lowest beamworks like the others.

Creep Zone Activated2: The lowest beam sensibi-lity is higher than the others.

4 Antiscanning deactivated: Any barrier’s in-terruption is notified immediately.

Antiscanning Activated: The barrier’s interrup-tion notification delay will be ramdomized between 1” and 8’’ , in this way will be harder determine the barrier’s coverage threshold.

5 disqualify disabled: In case of long alarm period (more than 10 minutes) due to fog or obstacles presence OC2 will be activated and alarm relay will stay open untill the barrier will return in the rest state.

disqualify enabled: In case of long alarm period (more than 10 minutes) due to obstacles presen-ce or drastic received signal reduction caused for example by fog or snow, the OC2 output will be activated and the alarm relay will be automatically restored.

6 Anti-Masking disabled: If an unknow infrared signal is detected, will be activated the alarm’s relay and the OC1 output.

Anti-Masking enabled: In case of unknow infra-red signal detection will be activated only the OC1 output.

Greater is the sensibility (Clockwise) lower becomes the amount of infrared beam that needs to be interrupted to notify the alarm. With the lower level of sensibility the infrared beam have to be interrupted completely in order to notify the alarm (Null false alarm possibility).
