WHAT IS THE ENVIRONMENTAL
POLLUTION?
It's the presence of physical, chemical orbiological agents or a combination ofseveral agents in places, forms andconcentrations that are
harmful for health, welfare
of population, or that
are harmful to plants or
animal life.
The power of man over nature is too greatand every day appear new needs as aresult of living in society, theenvironment around us deteriorates moreand more.
Technological progress and rapid populationgrowth producing environmental change, insome cases threatening the ecological balanceof the Earth, but it is important that people beaware of the consequences of the damage.
TYPES OF POLLUTION
Water pollution Contamination Air pollution
of soil
CAUSES OF POLLUTION
sewage and dumping cutting the trees
Waste sea or rivers
Burning Rubbish
carbon monoxide Excess fertilizer and
from vehicles chemicals
EFFECTS OF AIR POLLUTION
The pollution of great cities
affect cardiovascular health.
The weakening of the ozone
layer that protects people
from ultraviolet radiation
of the Sun
• In the contaminated soil is not possible to sow
• Global warming is caused by increase of theconcentration of atmospheric CO2 thataccompanies the massive burning of fossil fuels.
• The effects of radioactivity on living organisms areharmful to their physical integrity
• The greenhouse effect increases with theconcentration of gases as CO2
• Human activity, deforestation, and especially the burning of fossil fuels increase the presence of this gas in the air.
ENVIRONMENTAL POLLUTION
PREVENTIONDo not burn Control the use of
plants fertilizers and pesticides
• Do not throw garbage in inappropriate places
• Save energy
• control accidental oil spills
• create drainage pathways for industries that do not reach the seas or rivers used for the service or consumption of men or animals
