Human Impact Project
Humans have had many positive and negative impacts on our planet. During this project you will work individually or with a group to choose one negative human impact, investigate the problem, and develop a solution to the problem.
Human Impact Project Task1. Choose five topics and complete Human Impact Project Research Worksheet
2. Rank your topic choices and Ms. Perkins will assign your final project topic and
group
3. Work individually or with 2-3 people to research topic, human impact, and
possible solutions.
4. Create outline of project plan and task list - assign group members tasks and
to-do list for the project, then get list checked out by Ms. Perkins
5. Write REPORT, Create VISUAL AID, Do PRESENTATION
Human Impact Project REPORT
Write group report (typed, double spaced, times new roman, size 12 font,
HARD COPY) see rubric for expectations
Report should include:a. Background information and problem (at least 3 paragraphs explaining your topic, the
problem, and any other relevant background research you found)
b. Human connection and human impact (at least 3 paragraphs explaining how humans
have helped cause this issue and could help fix it)
c. Solution with diagram (at least three paragraphs explaining solution and a drawn
diagram of your idea)
Human Impact Project Visual Aid and Presentation1. Create visual aid about topic and (visual aid option:
video, song, powerpoint, 3D model, poster) see rubric
for expectations
2. Present topic and solution to the class (3-5 min
presentation)

Topics:- Giant Pacific Garbage Patch- Oil spills and water pollution- Deforestation of the Amazon Rainforest- Biomagnification of Toxic Chemicals in Killer Whales- Acid Rain- Air pollution in India- Soil degradation- Coral Reef Bleaching- African Elephant Poaching- Critically Endangered Species (Choose ONE): Eastern Lowland and
Mountain Gorilla, Black and Javan Rhino, Hawksbill Turtle, Amur Leopard, Malayan Tiger, Orangutan...you may choose a different endangered species but need to get it checked off by Ms. Perkins
