Born and raised in Lexington, KY, I now live in Nicholasville, Kentucky, with my wife, Billie Jo, and our five children. I have been in the construction industry for over 30 years and enjoy attending my children’s activities, golfing, hunting, horse racing, and traveling with the family.

TROY TURNER 2I am a Lexington native with 5 daughters, 4 of whom have graduated from LCA and a current LCA 4th grader. I have been an LCA dad since 1997. I am also the father-in-law to an LCA graduate and a proud grandfather to Annie, my first granddaughter and Turner, my frist grandson. I am grateful and blessed by the faith and mission of LCA and the impact it has made on my daughters.

LCA is important to me because of the deep impact the school has had on his daughters faith and character.

My favorite LCA memories are the graduation ceremonies with my girls. It makes me feel so proud of their accomplishments as they completed this chapter of their journeys and seeing their faces look with excitement to their futures.

JAKE GLANCY3I was born and raised in Lexington, KY. I have always said it is the best place to live, and Lexington Christian Academy is an even better place to attend school. I went to school here from preschool until graduation in 2004. I met my high school sweetheart here and now have two kids enrolled. First and foremost, I am a Christian. Secondly, my greatest job title is family man. I also am a young entrepreneur that views that title as a way to help employees build their faith and mentor them in hard times. I strive to give back to the community and teach my kids to do the same. We are blessed by the grace of God.

My entire life. Literally.

LCA has been an integral part of my life for so many reasons. It built my faith, I met my wife, and it’s now playing a major role in my children’s lives. I firmly believe in a Christian education and the importance of spreading God’s word. And the teachers!!!! I love that my kids get to have the same teacher’s that played such a huge impact in my life. For that I am grateful.

I have children, nieces, and nephews that attend. My daughter Addison (preschool), son Winston (2nd grade), niece Anna Lee (4th grade), nephews George (6th grade), Ben (7th grade) and Andrew (10th grade).

BRUCE DRAKE 4I went to Apollo High School in Owensboro and graduated from WKU. All three of my sons began here in kindergarden. Both Jack & Wade have graduated and Johnny Bruce is currently in 10th grade.

I love the Christian environment that my boys have been a part of, and I also love the facility and the athletic programs.

HENRY THOMAS5I grew up in Clarksville, TN with my mom and sister. I attended the University of Kentucky from 1989 to 1994 where I majored in Communications and lettered in basketball. I have been married to Missy Thomas for 21 years, and we have 3 children, Jennsyn (18), Jaryn (16), and Little Henry (11). I enjoy all sports but especially UK sports, the Dallas Cowboys, and the Houston Astros.

A few years ago, we had kindergarten graduation, 6th grade day of blessing, and 8th grade day of blessing all within one week of each other.

It is a unique family environment centered around Christ.

I met my beautiful wife Shannon at UK and we have been married for 18 amazing years. We have a daughter, Hadley (10) and son, Noah (8).

I joined the LCA family as the Director of Technology in April of 2013 after spending more than a decade working in various departments and divisions of UK Healthcare. After serving as the project manager for the 6th Grade Academy, our Head of School asked me to partner with both our Facilities department as well as Safety & Security as the Director of Campus Operations.

I am very proud to say that I am the only Eagle Dad that has actually been an Eagle…. A few years ago, I was asked to be “Feathers”, the mascot for the Elementary school. As a former High School mascot (also an Eagle), I enjoyed the opportunity to have a secret identity and was able to join in on the fun of special events at our Elementary campus. (BTW – My kids still don’t know that I am Feathers, so please don’t blow my cover)

The education that students receive in school is part of the life-skills that will help mold and direct them for the rest of their lives. From the Bible verses over our classroom doors to the daily prayers over of the intercom; from the teachers that nurture both the head and the heart to the chapel services that grow their faith; from the service projects and mission trips that help them reach a world in need to their opportunities to develop and display their God-given talents; our students are well equipped to take Christ into a world that desperately needs Him.

I have two daughters and one son who all started LCA in preschool. Landis is a recent 2020 graduate who is attending Miami of Ohio. London is a current 9th grader and Matthew is in 6th grade.

BRIAN RAY 8I am a Christ follower, husband to an amazing wife and grateful father of three outstanding children. I have been a believer since 1987, but the beautiful story of redemption started in 2004 as my wife and I committed our lives to serving Jesus. The repentance lead me to LCA in 2008, where the Father introduced me to the joy of partnering with parents as the strength coach at the high school level. Our lives have been changed forever through our ministry at LCA. The students and their families have strengthened our faith, our marriage and help mold our parenting as we have learned how Jesus works in the lives of those who pursue Him.

20 years as I have coached student athletes as a strength professional and I have coached and served in ministry on campus since June 2008.

LCA has changed our lives through the love and relationships we have developed. The love of Jesus can be found anywhere you look. Our personal investment of time, resources and love has impacted this mission field of our future. LCA is a place where leaders of families, community, our Commonwealth, our Nation and the Church are being developed and raised.

CG PATTERSON9I’m a life long Lexington resident, graduate of Lexington Catholic, and Xavier University. Together with my sister and father we run a second-generation floor covering business “Carpet One Floor & Home.” My hobbies include hiking, bike riding with family, watching Kentucky sports, checking out cool restaurants on Friday evenings.

LCA is important to my family because it provides a small school atmosphere, and encourages my daughter to grow in a Christ centered environment, with daily prayer and bible study.

Meeting new families and making friendships each year with people in my daughter’s class.

This is my 6th school year with LCA. My daughter is in 4th grade and my wife Melanie is a preschool teacher.

DAVE HARRIS10Jennifer and I have been LCA cheerleaders since 1995: Ashley Gish (daughter) started in first grade. Justin Harris (son) 3 years later. For 10 plus years Jennifer was a major organizer/doer of LCA Fundraising. I served as a LCA Board Member for 15 of the past 25 year relationship with LCA. To say we are an “LCA Fan” is probably an understatement! Our 2 oldest grandchildren are enrolled at LCA Kindergarten (Lion King – Circle of Life :))!! Professionally I serve as CEO of MCF Advisors and Jennifer is happy being NeNe to our grandchildren.

BRENT BERTRAM 11I am originally from Monticello, KY. I graduated from the University of Kentucky in 2001. I have been married to my wife Jill Bertram for 16 years and we have 2 children. I started a vegetation management business in 2012 named ProtecTerra, LLC.

We have been connected to LCA for 8 years with our two children Jentry (7th grade) & John Simon (4th grade).

LCA is important to me and my family because first and foremost we know our kids are in a Christ environment to help their relationship with Christ grow as they go through the journey of receiving a top notch education.

Seeing our kids grow in friendships with their peers because LCA is such a small school in numbers. It is neat to know these kids can be together from preschool, all the way through high school.
