WINTER IS JUST AROUND THE CORNER & MASTERCHEF IS BACK ON TV. SO... HOW ABOUT THESE HEARTY LITTLE GEMS TO INSPIRE YOUR CULINARY SKILLS?

Makes: 4 Ingredients: 1 tbs olive oil 30g butter 500g chicken breast fillet, cut into 2cm chunks 1 leek, white part only, finely sliced 1 garlic clove, crushed 1 tbs flour 1/3 cup (80ml) white wine or water 1 cup (250ml) chicken stock 1/2 cup (125ml) thick cream 1 large carrot, peeled, cooked, diced 1 large potato, peeled, boiled, diced 1 cup frozen peas, cooked 1 tbs chopped fresh or 1/2 tsp dried tarragon 4 sheets puff pastry, thawed 1 egg, lightly beaten

Method: Heat the olive oil and butter in a fry pan over medium heat, add the pieces of chicken and cook until lightly browned and almost cooked through. Transfer chicken to a plate and set aside. Add the leek and garlic to the pan and cook over low heat for 2-3 minutes or until softened. Add the flour and cook for 1 minute. Add wine and bring to the boil for 1 minute, then pour in stock and cream and cook, stirring, for a further 5 minutes over medium-low heat. Return chicken to pan with cooked vegetables and tarragon, season well, then set aside to cool. Preheat the oven to 200°C. . Cut four 18cm squares from the pastry, reserving off cuts. Place some chicken mixture in the centre of each square, then lift up the sides of the pastry to form a parcel, pinching edges together to seal. Cut out leaf shapes from the pastry off cuts and place over the joins. Make a small pastry rose for the centre of each parcel. Place parcels on a baking tray lined with baking paper. Brush with beaten egg and bake for 25 minutes or until golden.

WE ASKED A FEW MEMBERS OF OUR PASTORAL TEAM A FEW QUESTIONS AND HERE IS WHAT THEY CAME UP WITH...

>> WHAT IS YOUR MOST MEMORABLE MOMENT ? PAUL: Lots - first time I flew a plane stands out. KERRY: There really isn't just one… there is so many things to praise God for throughout my life so far... Train trip from Adelaide to Perth when I was about 9 was awesome. (sleeping on the train, choosing meals from a menu - unheard of in the 1970’s.) Receiving Jesus as my Lord and Saviour and being baptised when I was 11, getting married when I turned 21, the birth of our 3 gorgeous children (who will be turning 16, 18 & 21 in May this year!). So many awesome men and women of God preaching at various places over the years, impacting our lives, prophesying God’s Word over us. Our children’s baptisms, being part of Epicentre Church - in a variety of times / places experiencing God at work. Seeing my 11 month old grandson smile and clap his hands in Church praising God, the list goes on... NATHAN: Family Holidays - Camping BROOKE: Having my beautiful children >> WHAT DO YOU DO TO RELAX ? PAUL: (Smiling) How do I put it? Spend time with my gorgeous wife (preferably alone!) Otherwise, watching movies, facebooking, reading, coffee... KERRY: Snuggle with Paul (my husband). Pray, watch movies, take a spa, cook, enjoy family time, go out for coffee, listen to music - light candles - read a good book, visit friends and facebooking. NATHAN: Anything to do with sport BROOKE: read read read coffee coffee coffee & aqua aerobics!

>> WHAT IS YOUR PERSONAL VISION FOR TWENTY TEN? PAUL: Be spiritually, mentally and physically stronger. KERRY: Putting God first (drawing closer to Him every day) - loving Gog, loving life, loving people! Seeing people saved and Christians strengthened in their walk with God (and being part of that walk - doing life together). NATHAN: To become a stronger leader, and see growing influence in our community BROOKE: To serve the vision of Epicentre Church and see us becoming a church of influence in our community. I want to see people come to salvation and growing in God.

>> WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE FOOD? PAUL: Most food! KERRY: A Roast or Chocolate NATHAN: Steak & Ginger Beer BROOKE: Appleberry crumble and a good coffee from Bean Roasted mmm... >> WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE MOVIE? PAUL: Shawshank Redemption, Hunt for Red October KERRY: The Blind Side, Coach Carter, Fireproof, Faith Like Potatoes - (recurring theme: inspirational) NATHAN: I like psychological thrillers BROOKE: “The Blindside” got me real fired up recently

- LEADERSHIP TRAINING -

1 Timothy 3:1 NEB

Mid March Epicentre Op Shop Echuca, expanded into the building next door, and has just about doubled in size! We now have separate areas for each department. Our bric-a-brac which we can't get out quick enough, now has a huge room all to itself, which has allowed us to have every-

thing set out well. We've also been able to open up the old offices into an electrical items room, and a book room, which both look fabulous. Since expanding sales have gone up around 20 percent, and the shop is now really busy a lot of the time. We've also been able to set up our Fancy Dress room, which is full of

costumes to hire, especially 60's and 70's outfits. Moama is also doing great, and is full to the brim of amazing bargains. Both stores have loads of new winter stock coming out daily, and as of now, all summer stock is being marked down to clear at $1.

For the month of May we will be donating to the Moama Public School, Chaplaincy Appeal, and Little Athletics. If anyone would like to volunteer either in our Echuca store or with Denise in Moama, we would love to have some extra help. There are no rosters. Just come in, and we have plenty of jobs to do!

Links. Learn.grow.develop

Our goal for 2010 is to see 100% of Epicentre Church family involved in a Link - if you are not yet part of a Link or if you are interested in becoming a Link Leader (or Assistant Leader), please contact Pastors Paul & Kerry Parry - Phone 03 5482 6936 or E-mail: [email protected] At the heart of Links is the desire to see people develop in their RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD, learn how to LOVE OTHERS and make an IMPACT on family, friends and those around them. Links fulfill an important discipleship role in the lives of the Link members. There are a variety of Links meeting at various times - from Amplified & Arena Links (for youth) to Couples' Links, Ladies' Link, Men's Link and more!

A place to encounter Jesus - God has a purpose for each one of us, to become more and more like Jesus. When Links meet our goal is to encounter Jesus and in that encounter experience His life changing power. We do that as we pray, worship, learn from the bible and share honestly together.

A place to belong - A Link is more than a meeting. A Link is part of our Epicentre church community that is built on strong, caring relationships - a place where we can be open and transparent without fear of rejection. Just as each member of a family looks out for each other, so too, do Link

members. A place to grow - the apostle Paul said it was his goal to present everyone mature in Christ. We want to create an environment in our Links that facilitates growth in every individual's life. A place to give - Each person has gifts and talents they can contribute to their Link. Links are a place where we can learn to exercise spiritual gifts in

a safe environment, where we can serve one another and encourage one another. A place to reach out - everyone is welcome!

We currently support Teen Challenge & John & Jenny Le Clerc.

For over 30 years Teen Challenge has given young people who struggle with life-controlling problems a second chance at life. The Teen Challenge training centre is only a 1/2 hr drive away, on our doorstep, in Kyabram. They hold a service every Wednesday night followed by supper for those who would like to attend!

John & Jenny Le Clerc have been working in Africa for over 7 years. They have established the mobile Family Ministries School which takes foundational teaching to multiple countries throughout Africa. In April Andy Steele from Epicentre Church went over to help out for 2 weeks and was absolutely blown away by what he saw. Stay tuned for some of his amazing stories in Church . very soon! For those who would like to be on- going supporters of John & Jenny use the following bank account info: J & J Le Clerc. Commonwealth Bank BSB: 062904 ACC: 10223344

We take up our missions offering once a month on the first Sunday of each month so please give generously!

For all those who play an instrument or sing we would love you to get involved in our Worship team… Our music practices are every other Wednesday on Link week… (See the church calendar 4 info) Alternately, if you love media then we need you on the media team! God has infused creativity into each one of us and we want to tap into that creative power… How good is it to be singing our own songs that God has placed in the heart of our team!

For more info on MMA or to get involved please call : Rob Wiltshire 0429418655

Dylan & Jessica Le Clerc have been a part of Epicentre Church since the beginning.

After passing on the leadership of youth at the beginning of the year, Dylan & Jess have

stepped into the role of Church Pastors. This role entails looking after the health of

Epicentre Church and most of its departments. A big part of this new role is establishing,

and growing already established Systems and Structures. Each system we have in place

needs to be running effectively so that we can accomplish our vision. Every structure we have

must be set up correctly so that it is strong and can be built upon. Part of our core values is that

we are a change embracing church. Changes and improvements continually have to be made to

produce effective health. And we want an effective healthy, vibrant, alive Church!

Chaplaincy Dinner

Please see Brooke Bowles for more information on Adore!

The Annual Echuca & District Chaplaincy Fundraising Dinner is going to amazing! Australia’s best impersonator Ben Price will be there. Tickets are $30 which includes dinner.

Direct Deposit is a smart way to give to the

Church. When direct deposits are set up, the

Church can simply rely on that money coming in

each week, making it easier to budget, instead of

hoping the congregation remembers to bring their

tithe and offerings that week!

Why not take advantage of this option and set up

direct deposit with your financial

institution today...

Participating and being involved in our local community is what our church is all about.

That is why we have started ‘PROJECT CHANGE’

Project change is individuals giving back into the community 1 hour of there time per week.

Is there something you love doing? Why not incorporate it into Project Change?

Some great examples would be Andrew McKenner & Cameron Phillips.

Andrew loves to dance, so he is doing 1 hour of dance teaching in the High School during

their lunch break. Cameron is about to start 1 hour of stress relief exercise for students

doing their VCE. What can you do to get on board and get

involved in this great initiative?

For any more information of the Community side of

Epicentre Church or if you have a great idea as to

how we can be involved in the community or a local project please call our Community Pastors:

Nathan & Brooke Bowles

A HUGE thank-you to those who were involved with the annual Good-Friday Family Day at the Moama Sound Shell. There were around 500 people who

attended the event and we raised $1800 for the Royal Children’s Hospital.
