What is it?
Epicycloid (from the Greek
words ὲπί — on, above, at and
κυκλος — circle,
circumference) — a plane
curve produced by a point on
the circumference of a circle
which rolls on the
circumference of another
circle.
To transfer various liquids,
gases, loose, viscous and
other materials.
To use energy of natural
streams.
To rotate pneumo- and
hydraulic actuators.
To move water transport.
To achieve these goals
the mankind - long
before Archimedes -
tried to use ...
WHEEL … adjusting various
working parts to it

Flow
Direction of movement of working vanes
The area of working vanes The vanes moving against a stream Force action shoulder
Vane pump of unitary action 1, 3 -
housings, 2 - a contact point, 4 - a rotor,
5 - a vane, 6 - case, 7 - a groove, 8 - a
spring
An epicycloidal machine of the same
size.
Higher efficiency of units
Smaller overall dimensions => less material expenses
Manufacturability and simplicity of assembling
Ecological compatibility of devices – less noisy, less speedy etc.
The big working volume of the chamber in comparison with analogs
Simplicity of service in comparison with dynamic units
In comparison to vane devices
Presence of a high dynamic component
Large volume of the chamber that provides high efficiency at a high pressure
Essentially smaller angle of attack and progress of vanes in relation to the inlet port allows to move medium of more viscous, bulk materials and also reduce cavitation
Absence of a face friction between vanes and a starter excludes deterioration of vanes and losses on a friction
