Thank you to all parents for the sensitive and respectful way in which you have worked with us to support the Department of Education and NSW Minister for Heath regulations. Thank you to the teaching, executive and administrative staff who have worked with students and families to ensure the health, safety and wellbeing of all.

EFFECTIVE EDUCATORSThe teachers collaborated on day one and undertook professional learning in the mandatory areas of Code of Conduct, Health and Safety and Attendance. We also worked with our teacher leaders Miss Moore, Mrs Buwalda and Mrs Burke to learn more about the new Personal Development Health and Physical Education syllabus. This is a focus area for us this year and we look forward to sharing our journey with you. Mr Squires & Mrs Evans also led a session for staff outlining access to and effective use of technology at our school. Thank you to all of our teacher and executive presenters.

KINDERGARTEN 2020Congratulations to all the Kindergarten students and their families for a smooth start to ‘big school’. The teachers and I were very impressed with how sensible and mature the children were. It is great to see students carrying their own bags, lining up and being so independent. You must be very proud! It was also lovely to see parents gather and chat on the first day. We look forward to lots of happy smiling faces each day. If any child, in any grade is having difficulty transitioning to school, please speak to their class teacher or a member of the executive team or myself.

ROAD AND PEDESTRIAN SAFETYStudents are taught road and pedestrian safety at school. It is disheartening to see parents encouraging children to act in unsafe ways on the roads and crossings. Please help your child to BE SAFE by modelling the road and pedestrian rules. This includes, but is not limited to:• Not calling children to run across the road• Reminding your child to get out on the left side of the car• Not stopping on pedestrian crossings or driveways to pick up your child• Not dropping your child on the road• Reminding your child to cross at crossings• Holding your child’s hand to cross
