Life on CampusEquippers College is no ordinary school environment. The current College campus is
located in the heart of Auckland City, within walking distance of Auckland Domain, Myers
Park, Auckland University campuses and the Queen Street shopping precinct; great places
to relax during a college lunch break. Auckland is an international, multicultural city with a
unique Pacific flavour. Wedged between the Waitemata and Manukau harbours, and built on
more than 50 dormant volcanic cones, you are never far from a breathtaking view.
Accommodation.Equippers College campus does not provide
accommodation on site, however the College
Accommodation Advisor is available to assist
students in finding flatting, boarding or hostel
accommodation. This assistance is given to
those needing help or details during the usual
application process before the semester begins.
Living Costs.Accommodation in Auckland costs on average
approximately NZ$150.00 per week. This can
vary from suburb to suburb. The cost for power
and phone are usually additional. Food is another
extra cost – allow for approximately NZ$40-50 per
week and another NZ$20-30 for any additional
expenses.
Transport.Auckland City is easily accessible by the Public
Transport System. Buses and trains come into the
city frequently from around the wider Auckland
area. Further information is available at www.
maxx.co.nz For those who have vehicles there is
also free street parking that is an easy 15min walk
away from college.
Typical Week.- Classes run four days a week.
- Serving in a variety of areas in church
over a weekend.
Church Life.Equippers College is a local church-based college,
strongly connected with Equippers Church, a vibrant
multi-cultural church reaching over 2,000 people, with
services across Auckland, and a network of Equippers
churches around the world. Equippers Church is built
on a strong leadership culture and a
fervent desire to see the world impacted
by the message of the gospel. This has
resulted in a diversity of community
ministries within the church, reaching out
to people within the central city, greater
Auckland, New Zealand, and around the
world.
There are so many opportunities... We are surrounded by people in need. At Equippers
there are so many opportunities to get involved in
evangelism while you train. There are opportunities
to reach out to high school kids, ‘at risk’ youth, young
professionals, primary school children, international
students, kiwi students, back packers, street
workers and night clubbers – all without leaving the
neighbourhood! With mission teams travelling all
over New Zealand and around the world every year
supporting church plants and mission organisations,
you’ll be in the middle of what God’s doing while you
learn what God is all about, and who you’re called to
be!
Conferences.Students also take part in a wider team of people
serving and organising within important conferences
hosted by Equippers Church during the year. SHOUT
leadership and creative arts conference, EquipHer
Women’s conference and ACTS National leaders’
conference. Being a part of the greater team in
running these powerful, life changing conferences
encourages the development of skills, opening of
opportunities and connection with new people.
Equippers College sees you as a part of the answer to
extending God’s Kingdom, and we want to do all that we can to
equip you to become as effective as possible.
We understand that no two people are the same; we all have
unique gifts and abilities, as well as unique needs. We know that
sometimes being a student isn’t easy, and we provide a great
range of services to make sure we’re doing our best to help you
get the most out of your time at Equippers College.
Resources and facilitiesWe provide a range of facilities to support a great learning
environment if you choose to study at our Auckland Campus
– comfortable lecture rooms, access to an onsite library and
computer room, as well as an interactive website to help with
assessments when you’re not on campus. We also have ‘experts’
available on navigating Auckland traffic!
So – why not come and put yourself in an environment of
challenge and support, where we are confident you’ll not only
develop more of your God-given potential but have a great time
doing it!
Pastoral SupportIf you’ve got a question – we have an answer! The
support you need might be anything from assessment
questions to questions about life! We have a fantastic
pastoral staff which includes professional counsellors
and tutors.
StaffEverybody has heard that in life more is ‘caught’ than is
‘taught’. At Equippers College our staff are ‘living the
dream’. Every one of our lecturers, tutors, academic and
administrative staff have extensive experience in seeing
the Kingdom of God extended as they serve with all of
their might in leadership and ministry positions in local
church settings.
Equippers College staff are passionately committed to
seeing you learn, grow and minister effectively as you
study with us. James says ‘faith without works is dead.’
Knowledge without practical application is also dead.
Our lecturing staff are qualified, competent and, most of
all, called – to direct and encourage you in your journey
towards becoming all that God has called you to be!

The last six months have been incredible; I
never would have thought I could grow as
much as I have. Coming in to Equippers College,
I was actually a little hesitant. I didn’t know what
to expect, but I knew that God had told me to go.
Second day in and I was freaking out, thinking
“what have I got myself into?” I was learning
so much already about the Bible and we were
challenged to pray and seek God, far more than
I was used to. I look back now and laugh at how
naïve I was, thinking “why would it have been
anything different?!”
The Certificate in Christian Ministry was an
amazing opportunity to spend six months
discovering who God is and who he has created
me to be, whilst being in a safe environment
to let those walls down. Gaining a greater
understanding of the Bible has been so helpful;
l learned about reading within context and just
how applicable the Bible is to me, it’s like big
drama, who needs TV when we have the Bible?!
On a serious note I would not be the person I am
today if I didn’t listen to God and do Equippers
College – truly one of the best years of my life!

Attending Bible College had always been a dream of mine and
for several years I tried my best to make that dream a reality. I
endured many obstacles on the way, was busy with sports, was trying
to care for my grandmother, and had been my mother’s caregiver
for 12 years. She’d suffered two strokes, been through major heart
surgery and cancer. I was going to pursue a nannying career, but felt
that God was calling me to Bible College. It seemed that it was the
best place for me to truly find out my purpose for life, and have a
better understanding of God’s word.
The Certificate in Christian Ministry was something I really could
see myself doing even though I hadn’t studied for such a long time.
I wasn’t sure how I was going to pay for it, but God’s provision came
through and He made a way for me. He placed my mother in an
amazing private hospital with great staff, and it was close to home
which is exactly what I’d prayed for. This gave me and my family a
great peace and sense of what God wanted to do - not only in me, but
also in my family.
The Certificate in Christian Ministry has impacted my life in so many
ways: from interpreting scripture, to applying biblical principles
and truths to areas of my life, creating within me a greater servant
heart for God’s house and purposes, being trained to be an agent
of change, and knowing the authority of God over my life, being
sharpened in prayer and spiritual warfare sessions, to knowing that
God has a master plan for my life. God has opened up my life to so
many possibilities that I never thought were possible.
The students have become like family to me, and the Bible College
staff are always there to help you out. There are amazing counselling
staff who are there to support you as well - there is so much
transformation and equipping going on throughout the course. I
highly recommend Equippers College to anybody who wants to
pursue God’s best for their life, and I can testify that the Certificate
in Christian Ministry is a great course that brings revelation and
breakthrough.

My first year at Equippers College was
unbelievable. I was expecting that God would
grow and develop me but what actually occurred was
amazing - it was so much more. Equippers College
surrounded me with a community of people that
challenged and sharpened me. Through fantastic
teaching, passion filled lectures and amazing
ministry opportunities I’ve become a more confident
person, I’ve been able to recognise and understand
more fully the gifts God’s given me, and I know I’m
equipped with the necessary skills to be influential
and effective in changing my world.
I enjoyed the Certificate in Christian Ministry
(Applied) because it combined the theory with the
practical. We learnt so much in class then were given
plenty of opportunities to outwork that learning. For
me it was in that outworking that I captured a vision
for my life and began to see what God could achieve
with a bunch of people unified with one common
goal, to see the kingdom of God advanced.
I know the training I’ve completed at Equippers
College has really propelled me forward. I feel I can
more confidently take hold of God’s call for my life – I
am part of the answer to the needs in our community.
I can’t place a price tag on the transforming work God
has done. This course has actually changed my life!
- Mark Nash
Committing myself to do Bible College for one
year was one of the best decisions I’ve ever
made in my life. For me, it was a step of faith - walking
into new territory and unfamiliar spaces, but I knew
deep down that this was just the beginning of an
amazing journey that God had already ordained for
my life.
Looking back at the start of the course to where I am
now I can see why God called me to Bible College;
to equip me through His word and for me to discover
God’s purpose for my life.
Prior to coming to college I didn’t really believe in
myself or allow myself to dream big dreams, but
walking through this journey and allowing God
to have full access to my life, I have found myself
dreaming bigger than ever! I can now confidently say
‘this is who I am because of what God has done and
will continue to do in me’. I know I was created and
destined for greatness.
Throughout Bible College I was truly blessed and
fortunate to create new friendships and to do life
with awesome men and women of the faith. God may
call you to a different location but at the same time
He puts the right people in your path for a time and
season.
Taking the step to do Bible College was definitely the
best decision I’ve ever made and I’m glad I took the
opportunity to do it. I wouldn’t be where I am now if I
didn’t!

Students say...There is nothing like learning on the job. Maximum learning is achieved when you can get in ‘amongst it’ by taking responsibility
in an organisation and really putting into practice the principles that you are being taught.
Plenty of people talk about how they would run that church, that ministry or that business...
talk is cheap! It’s a simple fact that you don’t really know something until you do it. You
might have an understanding of the physical dynamics of a back flip – but can you do
one?! The Certificate in Advanced Christian Ministry teaches people to do more than just
talk about ministry, it teaches them to do ministry.

Equippers College provides more than just
an academic certificate - it provides a mind
challenging, relationship building, leadership
developing environment to propel you into your
destiny.
My two years of study with Equippers College
wasn’t just about preparing me for ministry,
it was about building my understanding of
who I am, who God is, and just how much is
actually possible with Him! The challenges were
intense, but so was the degree of transformation.
Equippers College has been instrumental in
helping me discover the call of God on my life.
Through the various papers, practical application
and leadership responsibilities, God expanded
my view of Him, and how much He was able to do
through me.
I look back now and can see that God used
Equippers College as a tool to train me to be an
effective minister that’s not defined by role or
location but totally defined by Him and His plan
and purpose.
- Amanda Percy
If you thought that being brought up in a Christian family qualifies
you to be a great champion of the Christian faith then you are sorely
mistaken! If you thought that being raised by Christian parents means
that you have reached the absolute epitome of Christianity and you
feel like you could walk on water at any moment – be prepared to put
on your life jacket!
This was the mindset I was stuck in BEFORE I came to Equippers
College. I felt Bible College was for people who knew nothing about
God and of course, being raised in a Christian family I obviously
knew all there was to know about God… or so I thought. After being
challenged by a close friend I finally got over myself and said to God,
“Ok, what do YOU want me to do with my life?”, I remember hearing
Him clearly say – “go to Bible College”. Instantly I felt a drive and
a passion flare up in my heart; I was super keen and I remember
thinking, “This must be God. In my whole life of being a Christian
I’ve never felt this ever before”, and after Bible College started
the feeling and the fire just continued to grow. I’d never been so
hungry for the word of God. My love for God, His church and the lost
continued to increase.
By the time I had completed my final year at college - the internship
programme - the shift in my mindset was so significant that as I
looked back at my life I was dumbfounded by how I was able to live
for so long on such a small-minded understanding of God! The words
that come to mind when I think of how my relationship with God was
before Bible College are; maintenance, mundane, religious, normal,
obligated, all of which are things that God never intended for
us to be.
My advice to anyone thinking of Bible College is be prepared for
your life to be radically shifted and significantly changed. You will be
challenged in so many ways and all for the absolute good! My reason
for going to Bible College was only to know God more and that’s
exactly what happened, and it was the ‘knowing God more’ that set
the tone for some of the greatest years of my life.

PASTORAL LEADERSHIP
Diploma in:
What does it mean to be a truly effective leader in a pastoral ministry setting, and what does it take to get there?
This Level 5 diploma will give students the foundational knowledge, skills and experience that are vital
for embarking on a significant leadership role in full or part time ministry.
“Significant ministry flows out of significant relationship” – that’s why the Diploma in Pastoral
Leadership gives opportunity to be exposed to key leaders within the ACTS Churches movement
through block courses that will allow time with national leaders including Bruce Monk, Sam Monk,
Jordan Smith and others….
The Diploma in Pastoral Leadership meets the national church guidelines for the ordination of pastors –
the NLT has stated that in the long term, the movement suffers if incoming ministers have not attended
Bible training. The Diploma in Pastoral Leadership offers equipping that will allow ongoing involvement
in ministry/employment.
The Diploma in Pastoral Leadership offers part time study involving short courses aimed at creating an
environment of impartation, not just information! Distance courses also form a part of the programme –
access is through the Equippers College interactive “Moodle” website.
Applicants for the Diploma in Pastoral Leadership who have completed some Bible training may have
their prior learning recognised and accredited toward the Diploma programme.

The Revolution Tour takes to the road every
year, with bands, dance crews, comedians,
huge sounds, multi-media, lights, and a

hear. The tour visits high schools all over the
North and South Island letting young people
know that they can make a difference in their
world.
In 2010 the tour covered 16 cities in three
weeks, performing in more than 120 high
schools. The night time concerts were
attended by around 17,400 people and of this

InternationalStudents
y wife and I in 2010 excitedly relocated our family from
Germany to New Zealand so I could attend Equippers
College. Entering the Equippers College course was like
stepping into a building that I’ve passed by many times, but
never seen from the inside. I made assumptions about what it
was going to look like, but once I found myself in there, many
more doors opened up and led me into unexpected realms.
Whether it’s your class mates who spur you on to go higher
in God, the lecturers passionately drawing you into a new
understanding of the word of God, or the practical opportunities
to serve in an awesome church - I guarantee, if you’re in
it wholeheartedly you’ll taste and see something
of who God is and what His purposes are that
exceed your expectations.
It’s not about what you get out of it, but
how you get out of it - in other words, it’s
a school for life. You’ll learn to engage
your faith and to press through in times
of pressure. My wife and I faced some
challenges getting started but we found
the environment warm and welcoming,
and a church family who were more
than happy to help in any way they
could. We also found ourselves in
an environment where you had to
learn to access the grace of God
rather than just relying on your
own strength. In that place we saw
God’s mind-blowing provision
and guidance.
For me, the Equippers College
experience was about
getting fit for an adventurous
and rewarding future - an
investment that I’ll never
regret.
