MONday, SEPTEMBER 16TH How the Grinch Stole ChristmasHOW TO DRESS: Villain Day - Dress as a Superhero Villain, Disney Villain, Nickelodeon Villain, book/movie villains etc...

The Game: How the Grinch Stole Christmas:

Each class will send up a group of 5 students to unwrap presents & guess the correct teacher that matches the clues given inside the box. There will be 2-3 boxes to unwrap, and the group of 5 class members who guesses the most correct in the fastest time wins first place points and so on!

The points :

1st place - 5 points 2nd place - 4 points 3rd place - 3 points 4th place - 2 points

HOW TO DRESS: Horton Hears a Who - Music Day - Dress as a music artist, band, or music genre.

THE GAME: No Game - Today is STOMP!!! Each class must coordinate a dance routine to school appropriate music. The class who wins 1st place for STOMP will perform at the HOMECOMING PEP RALLY! ! !

THe Points (stomp):

1st Place = 20 points2nd Place = 15 points3rd Place = 10 points

4th Place = 5 points

wEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 18TH Oh the places you’ll go!HOW TO DRESS: Oh the Places You’ll Go - Career Day - Dress as certain job, profession, or occupation; please dress as someone successful!

THE GAME: Each class will send up a group of 6 class members and 1 teacher to participate. Team members will place socks on hands in order to unwrap pieces of candy. Once the candy is unwrapped, it will be placed in a jar. The first team to fill its jar to the designated line wins 1st place!

The points :

1st place - 5 points 2nd place - 4 points 3rd place - 3 points 4th place - 2 points

THURSDAY, September 19THFOX IN SOCKS

HOW TO DRESS: Fox in Socks - Dress as a Rhyme Day - Examples: Dad in Plaid, Whale eating Kale, Mom at Prom, Snail with a Veil, Fish with a Dish, Bows on Does, A Mime on Time, Nurse with a Purse, Drake with a Cake, Goat with a Float, Fairy with a Berry, Bunny with Some Honey, Hannah with a Banana, or Create Your Own Rhyme!

THE GAME: Guess that Song - Each class will send up five students to guess an artist and title of different songs.

The points :

1st place - 5 points 2nd place - 4 points 3rd place - 3 points 4th place - 2 points

FRIDAY, september 20th HOMECOMING dayHOW TO DRESS: Cat in the Hat: Wear your (Bob)cat shirts on Homecoming Day!

Dress Code: Students can wear either their Homecoming shirt, royal blue PBIS shirt, or white school uniform polo shirt with school uniform bottoms. Show your Bobcat Spirit! Show up to the football game to support the Erath Bobcats as they take on Morgan City!

BULLETIN BOARD DECORATING COmpetition-Each class will decorate & complete a class bulletin board by

Wednesday, august 28th! Bulletin boards will be judged on August 29th !-The bulletin board will represent a chosen day from homecoming week. Please make sure you are following the day your class was assigned:

sophomores: The Grinch - (day one)juniors: horton hears a who - (day two) seniors: oh the places you’ll go - (day three)freshmen: fox in socks - (day four)

-Bulletin Boards must include the date, theme, dress code, and lunchtime game. It can be 3D, but there cannot be any electronic devices on the bulletin board. Each class must supply all materials needed to decorate the bulletin board.

-Each class account is given a bulletin board budget of $ 50.00.

The Points: First place = 20 points Second place = 15 points Third place = 10 points Fourth place = 5 points

pOWDERPUFF - wEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 4THWednesday, August 28th :-Powderpuff Rules Clinic/Meeting with EHS Coaching Staff and Players during 2nd half of lunch on Wednesday, 8/28/19. All students involved with Powderpuff must be at this meeting.

Powderpuff practices may start/take place on Saturday, August 31st, Sunday, September 1st, & Monday, September 2nd.

Wednesday, September 4th :-All students report to the stadium for check-in at 6:30 p.m. -Students must be on time to be counted and wearing class t-shirts to participate. All students wearing class shirts are asked to participate in the honor guard for the Powderpuff Court and cheer on their class from the sidelines. -Each class will earn participation points for the percentage of students who show up dressed in their class shirts. -Powderpuff Court Members and Powderpuff Cheerleaders in cheer uniforms are the only students who will be counted as participants not wearing a class shirt.

-Each class will choose a class song andcreate a banner. Before each game, the class will enter the field to their chosen class song with the girls running through the banner and the boys forming an honor guard.

-Music for game is due by Friday, August 30th and must be approved by Mr. Turner.

-Admission is $3 for EHS Students wearing class shirts and Powderpuff Cheerleaders in uniform and $5 for everyone else. (K-12 students and community).

-Powderpuff Court Members, and their parents, and any children below kindergarten level are admitted free.

***Only current football players are allowed to be coaches.

Cheerleader Competition

Each cheer squad will be required to perform BOTH a cheer and dance routine that will be judged for points (shown below).

Class Participation Points

-Participation points will be awarded based on the percentage of class members wearing class t-shirts who are present for counting at the game. -Points will be given using a 10 point scale. -For example, 100% =10 pts; 95% = 9.5pts; 83%= 8.3 pts; 78% =7.8 pts etc...

SERVICE Projects-Each class must deliver the items before the morning bell rings on the morning of.-Nothing will be accepted after the bell rings! -The winning class each day will receive 2 bonus points. -At least two parent volunteers from each class should be there to count items each

morning, and these volunteers must be able to stay until all items are counted.-Drop-offs may begin at 6:50 am.

BLOCK PARTY - Sunday, September 15thTime: 10 am - 4 pm Location: EHS Semi-circle

Must be done in advance:- Float must be built on 10 to 12

foot utility trailer.-The base coat of the float must

be painted prior.-The design may be stenciled

on the float. -Each class must provide all

materials needed.-Each class account is given a

float budget of $ 150.00

Float Guidelines-The float must reflect the given class theme that deals with homecoming. -It should incorporate EHS and bobcats into the decorations which can be 3-D. -If any other school mascot is used, it must be approved by administration beforehand. -Help from parents should be kept to a minimum!

-Floats will be judged at the block party on Sunday, September 15th in the semi-circle at 4:00 p.m. with weather permitting.

On Homecoming Day:-Floats must be parked on Bobcat Alley by 9:00 a.m. for the Homecoming Parade. -Only 4 students are allowed to ride on the float. -Float riders should be dressed in costumes dealing with the theme and can throw candy but must remain seated. -A faculty member must ride on the float. -After the parade, all floats should remain parked on Bobcat Alley to show off for the football game that night.

RULES FOR STOMP•Each class will need to create a choreographed dance routine promoting class spirit and unity.•Stomp may be added if wanted but not required.•It cannot be longer than 2 minutes and 30 seconds. •There is no limit to the number of people in the routine, but only Erath High School Students are allowed to participate.•Props are acceptable. •Music, words, and dance moves must be school appropriate.
