On top of the outreach provided to our dual-placed children, our outreach team can also offer support to other schools across the city. Outreach visits tend to be bespoke as all children and schools are different, however visits may include: ● Advice and support for children with SLCN in mainstream classrooms, including: identifying children with SLCN, teaching strategies, pre teaching of vocabulary, possible interventions, differentiated curriculum ideas, language friendly environments, use of resources and visuals, awareness raising of need, signposting to NHS courses and advice sheets. ● Advice on appropriateness of places at the ERP and applications ● Attendance at reviews for possible new pupils ● Further information on what the ERP is. Come and see for yourself Teaching assistants, teachers and SENCOs from other schools are very welcome to visit the classrooms within the ERP. We encourage visits to us as we have found that this has been very beneficial in supporting both teachers and TAs when working with children with SLCN in the mainstream classroom.
