ENGINEERING BONUS QUESTION (3 POINTS). The curve for a material is shown. After yielding, the material is perfectly plastic and infinitely deformable, without failure. If a beam made from this material has a 10” x 10” cross-section and is bent into a radius of curvature of 1000”, determine the moment that causes this curvature. Bernoulli Beam Bending Theory is applicable but Hooke’s Law is clearly not. Provide an answer on the back of this page.
