www. eurocontrol.int/src
ESARR 5 is related to English language proficiency through notion of competence
ESARR 5 is a high level regulatory requirements document, so it does not contain the means to achieve English language proficiency
ESARR 5 complement ICAO Annex 1 provisions and as such there is no need to establish new criteria/requirements for language proficiency
No means of compliance have yet been determined (related to ESARR 5)
Designated Authorities/NSA have their role to play within the
implementation of ESARR 5 requirements (rulemaking and oversight
functions)
CONCLUSIONS
Tools to be developed
Ways to apply language proficiency requirements (guidance material)
Assessment of means to comply
Co-ordination with other bodies to ensure consistency and avoid duplication (EC, JAA/EASA, ICAO)
