Wireless Carrier Microwave Field Services
ESEI is providing a Wireless Carrier with
a long list of engineering services in
support of their national 2.1 GHz and
700 MHz spectrum clearing effort.
Among the tasks ESEI performs are:
1. Communications systems field
verification,
2. Field surveys and equipment
inventory,
3. Development of relocation cost
estimates, and
4. Assessment of 3rd part relocation
cost estimates.
Wireless Carrier Microwave Field Services ESEI verifies that the 2.1 GHz point-to-point
microwave radio links targeted for
relocation are operating as licensed and on
the correct frequency. ESEI performs the
following:
1. Map location of stations,
2. Travel to each station to identify
transmitting antennas,
3. Scan and verify transmitted frequencies,
4. Inventory equipment,
5. Document transmitting frequencies with
photographs of the antenna and the
spectrum analyzer screen,
6. Complete final documentation
Electric Utility Microwave Radio System ESEI designed a digital microwave
system to replace a legacy analog
system. The system replacement
was accomplished as an overbuild of
the existing route to allow for
sufficient testing before circuits were
cut over to the new radio backbone.
The new system upgrade included
new towers, antennas, transmission
line, radios, multiplexers, grounding,
and DC power systems.
ESEI managed all phases of the
project, including specification,
implementation, turn-up, and testing.
Design, specified, and coordinated the installation of towers
and buildings.
Electric Utility Microwave Radio System
Managed installation of antennas, radios, and network
equipment at all stations. Coordinated equipment turn-up and
test and cut-over activities.
Electric Utility Microwave Radio System
Alternative Energy Project Network
ESEI designed and integrated three
separate microwave systems and
associated networking equipment for
three entities participating in an
alternative energy project near Deming,
NM.
An Electric Utility company, a Wind
Power Generation company, and a Solar
Energy company built energy systems
and installed separate communications
networks to protect and monitor them.
ESEI designed and built point-to-point
microwave radio links and associated
infrastructure to extend Internet
services to the Wind and Solar farms.
In addition, ESEI designed and
managed the implementation of a
microwave radio system to
interconnect the new substation to
Electric Utility existing backbone
network for relaying and SCADA
purposes.
Alternative Energy Project Network
ESEI also developed the
infrastructure to support antennas,
house equipment and systems and
power radios and networking
devices.
ESEI also negotiated with Internet
service providers and tower site
owners. ESEI obtained all
necessary construction permits.
ESEI continues to support these
companies to ensure their networks
operate at high reliability levels.
Alternative Energy Project Network
ESEI supported this Native American
Pueblo with engineering and project
management services to complete the
implementation of a new Project 25
(P25) Public Safety 800 MHz radio
system. ESEI supported the Pueblo
with:
• Engineering Design,
• Technical Specifications,
• Technical consulting during bidding
and contracting of the project, and
• Project Management during
implementation.
Native American Pueblo PS Radio System
ESEI oversaw the construction of a new
repeater site which included a new tower
and building.
Native American Pueblo PS Radio System
ESEI continues to support this federally recognized Native American
Pueblo with:
• FCC License Management (monitoring and renewal),
• Interference protection,
• Regulatory support,
• Technical support when radio system issues arise, and
• Represent the Pueblo with area first responder agencies.
Native American Pueblo PS Radio System
ESEI designed, specified, and
managed the implementation of the
IT Network and Cable Plant for a
new 90,000 sq. ft. building. The
scope of the project also included
the integration of special systems
devices, such as Access Control,
Audio Visual, Security Alarm and
Surveillance Video into the Plant-In-
Place (PIP) documentation.
Financial Institution Building Inside Cable Plant
ESEI worked with an Architect and Electrical-Mechanical Engineer in
laying out the cable tray throughout the building; providing cable drops
quantities and locations for “rough-ins”, and coordinating the installation of
cable trays.
Financial Institution Building Inside Cable Plant
Responsible for assuring that all 400+ cable drops were run and installed
as per standards without exceeding distances. Tested and accepted
cable plant after completion.
Financial Institution Building Inside Cable Plant
International Manufacturing Company
This international automotive and
aerospace manufacturing company
needed a more efficient and proactive
IT operation.
Most services were unreliable at best
and inoperative at worst. The 150+
end-users experienced constant
downtime because systems lacked
proper maintenance and line-of-
business applications were not being
managed appropriately, in addition,
there was no help desk to support
users or provide information for
incident data analysis.
International Manufacturing Company ESEI deployed its IT service to all servers and 150+
computers at their four locations. An integral part of the
service was the establishment of a help desk process to
have a single source of entry and standardization for
responding to incidents.
ESEI manages the client’s network, computers, and servers
in Cd. Juarez, MX, El Paso, TX, Auburn Hills, MI and Elgin,
IL and provides periodic reporting on the status of the
infrastructure. In addition, ESEI develops and manages
client’s disaster recovery plan and anti-virus protection.
ESEI also began the administration of the client’s ERP
system which manages their manufacturing, operations,
financials, workflow, and customer and supplier
relationships.
International Manufacturing Company With the implementation of a formal help desk process,
ESEI reduced the number of support calls and incidents
by 70% (within the first 6 months).
ESEI increased system up-time for critical business
applications by analyzing and correcting recurring issues,
increased end-user proficiency by providing training on
specific system utilization processes, and maintained
network up-time at 98% by performing preventive
maintenance on all network devices.
In addition, ESEI implemented and documented backup
and disaster recovery plan at the main plant and alternate
sites, reduced the cost of telephone service 27% by
analyzing usage patterns and negotiating a new package
with the telephone company, and improved connectivity to
client’s corporate and field offices.
